What are some neat things to do at the world beyond the theme parks and dinners.

We will be going in May.

Thanks for you help!

If my kids let my dh and I go ourselves (LOL) I would love to plan a bunch of adult activities. Although my kids are very good about "letting" us go away on weekends, I'm not sure how they would handle a trip to WDW without them. We were able to cruise once without them (they love to cruise too) but my mom and sister took them to Disney the week we were gone LOL
Anyway, this is what I would make sure I do:

Chef's table at Grand Floridian
Pleasure Island - maybe a couple/few nights
Book massages for both of you
Maybe a tour...such as The Segway
Visit the Boardwalk for dinner and then Jellyrolls

I'm sure others will have some great ideas! Lucky you!

:hyper:

Some of the resorts have a horse drawn carriage ride around the property. I saw this at POR and WL.
POR was nice because they take you along the river at night and over a bridge. Ahhh! Get a bottle of wine and snuggle up! I would love to do this, but we have the 2 year old....actually I think that is how he got here! LOL!!!:teeth:

Also, maybe you two could do the Segway tour at Epcot. Something for the both of you to experience that is adult and be able to share with everyone else.

I agree with the above poster, the night life at Pleasure Island is good. Go see the improv comedy and JellyRolls on the BW is also great. Fun time!!! One good thing about Disney is that you can use thier transportation so you do not have to worry about going out then driving. That is if you are staying on property.

I would definatly plan a fancy schmancy dinner for two! Depending on your budget, Albert and Victorias at the GF, or Jinko at the AKL, Or make PS for the resturant in Italy or one of the World Showcase resturants. I see people all of the time dressed up nice and going to the World Showcase just for dinner. Then after enjoy Illuminations, or how about an Illuminations cruise.

Just some thoughts!

Jaime

Boardwalk and Jellyrolls are a must.

Pleasure Island is great, especially the Adventurers Club.

Drink around the world at Epcot.

The Illuminations Cruise on the Breathless. Very Romantic.

Sitting next to a quiet pool at the Boardwalk or Beach Club.

Relaxing in the lazy river at Blizzard Beach.

We'll be celebrating our 20th at WDW a couple weeks before you arrive. If we find anything else we'll let you know :earsboy:

We just got back from a grownups-only trip to enjoy the food and wine festival. Our kids handled it very well -- probably because they were just there in June and we are going back in December. Anyway, we had a great time at Jellyrolls, but were so busy we never did make it to Pleasure Island! We went to Universal one day and had dinner at Emeril's and drinks in the CityWalk area. Mostly we were just excited to be able to ride all the rides my kids still refuse to go on! Have a blast! We sure did!

My DH and I went this past October without our DS. Here are some of the things that we did andI would highly suggest!

A Carriage ride over at Ft. Wilderness: very beautiful and a great way to cutle up!

Be sure to head to Pleasure Island - even if you are not into the clubs, we spent most of our time at the Comedy Warehouse and The Adventurer's Club. Another great place to try (one of my favorites) is Jelly rolls. This is a fun place!!

One thing we didn't do that we really wanted to try without our DS was Cirque du Soliel. From what I have heard this is a breathtaking show that is a must see! Another must see (as a couple) is Wishes. Take a cruise and request champagne and strawberries!

Sitting on the beach or by a quiet pool with some drinks or going to the Spa.

OUr favorite thing to do, however, was head over to Epcot. We would stay over in the World Showcase and enjoy the food, alcohol and the view! It is a romantic place to walk around or eat. I think we enjoyed San Angel Inn (Mexico) the most. We requested a seat by the water. It was a perfect table for two. And after dinner, you can walk right across the way (staying in Mexico) and grab a table to watch Illuminations. We also really enjoyed going to Bistro de Paris!

There is so much to do. Have a magical and romantic vacation!

This is great information. Thanks! I have heard so much about jellyrolls. My hubby plays the piano and he would love it. If you think of anything else feel free to add to the list.

My DS's are 5 and 1. The 5yo says the drive is too far. He doesn't know we are even going yet. His Grammy will be with him so he will be happy. The 1yo really won't care where we are just that we are not there with him.

We are staying at POFQ. We are not really into the club scene, but the comedy club does sound like our style.

Keep the info coming!

Definitely do Adventurer's Club. It's the best!! Try to sit at the bar and talk to the bartenders, but keep an eye on your drink. I turned away for a second and ended up eye level to the bar. So funny!! Didn't even realize I was moving! Sorry, just gave away a funny part, but oh well. I still get a laugh out of it, and that was 10 year ago!!

 Go to the Adventurer's Club it's a must. Also, Epcot walk around World Showcase and enjoy the food and drinks. Do the carriage rides. Without the kids you will be able to go on more rides, so enjoy.:Pinkbounc

I have to second (or third ;) ) the Boardwalk and Jellyrolls. Its really a fun place.
