Moment of Silence.........as we say farewell to Tapestry of Dreams

I've seen this parade around 25 times in several trips to WDW and I must say that the response kids give the parade far exceeds any other parade I've seen at WDW. I intentionally watch kids faces at the parks and have seen all the parades several times...and the TOD and TON parades still got kids in the 5-9 year old range smiling more than ANY other parade. I'm an educator and a parent and you can sense when a child is absolutely thrilled at what a CM does at WDW. As some posts last year cast a negative light on this Epcot parade I thought maybe I was wrong....but even in five trips in the last 12 months, I still think that true genuine happiness for children was found in this parade and a big part of this was the CM's.

Without a doubt, these parades brought more smiles and thrills than any other that I saw at WDW.

All the parades at WDW are wonderful and we'll just have to enjoy the excellent efforts put out at the others parks until Epcot brings us another. Personally I really enjoyed the music and own the CD....in fact our school district used it on their music on hold for a month! LOL

My 7 yr old is sitting here with me and she has a tear rolling down her face. It is one of her favorite things at WDW. When I first told her it wouldn't be there in June, she burst into tears.

Same for mine....between this and the tears over the ELP, I am ready to cry myself. When i told her it was in paris and than being retired she wanted to cancel WDW and go to Paris. Guess she truly believes it is a small world after all.:p

I am one of the many people who definitely will miss Tapestry! It was a truly unique parade! I agree with WedWay72--watching the delight in the childrens' eyes when the "larger-than-life" puppets came up to them was absolutely heart-warming. My DD was a performer in both ToN and ToD and, although she moved on to a different entertainment position, she was always thrilled when her schedule unexpectedly sent her back to do Tapestry for a night. She never tired of performing in Tapestry and making the "little ones" smile. As for the Tapestry CM's, every night there would be a large group of them who had the day off sitting and cheering for their fellow puppeteers. There was a special comraderie among these CM's and the majority of them truly loved the parade! I think it was their love and enthusiasm which made Tapestry such an incredible experience. My thanks to ALL the CM's who were in Tapestry of Nations and Tapestry of Dreams for making such wonderful Disney magic! You will be missed!
