Love the new watch what a great splurge and so sweet (sorry on the pun) to get the classmates suckers!

we'll be needing to buy b-day treats at Disney for the classrooms for the girls...

And boy or boy you were busy...so glad the principal need has been resovled too. Plus glad you got through the movie...Nathan and I loved, LOVED it!

First of all, Happy Father's Day to all of the DIS-dads out there! (Sorry... I meant to say that earlier this morning!) And for the record, I haven't been ignoring Tim & DISing all morning on Father's Day... Tim is golfing and is due home any time. Then, unfortunately, I have to go work for a couple hours. :sad2: With the kids home this week, today is the only time I can go without asking one of our moms to watch the kids - and they both have to work most of the week.

Have a wonderful day everyone!!

What a great date night! Dinner sounds incredible!

Hurray for shopping at DTD! The new watch is fabulous! I also like all of your new kitchen things and mugs -- I always say I am going to get some stuff for the kitchen when we are down there and never do. Maybe this will be the trip I manage to pick up some things.

The dinner was awesome! I hadn't been overly enthusiastic about eating there since we had eaten there in 2002. But I was pleasantly surprised. I think it was the cost that was scaring me away... $175 is outside of our usual date night budget, but not by as much as it was back in 2002.

The kitchen stuff wasn't on my wish list. I was having a hard time coming up with gift ideas for my mother so when I saw the kitchen stuff I knew she would like it, but then I wanted some too! :rolleyes1

I'm so glad you got to go out shopping without the boys! Boy oh Boy did you make up for lost time! lol I loved everything you got....especially the watch :thumbsup2

....but please tell me that 66 dollars for lollipops is a typo

Yes, $66 for lollipops is correct! We've purchased lollipops for the kids' classmates the last couple years since they are the cheapest thing we can find that is good for a group of kids. I think they are about $1 each. Zach has 16 kids in his class & four teachers (not all of them are there all day). Alex usually has 15 kids in his class, but for third grade they have the two classes do a lot of stuff together, morning meeting, snack, etc. (and they spend half the day in each classroom so there is a lot of going back & forth) so I felt the need to buy lollipops for all 30 kids, plus four teachers. I'm not sure how many of the teachers actually ate the lollipops, but I didn't want to leave them out. I think they were sold in packs of 5. We bought 11 bundles at $5.95 each. So yes, $66 for lollipops! :headache: I'm open to suggestions for souvenirs for next year. I won't have to buy quite as many because the fourth grade classes go back to normal next year.

Wow what a wonderful date night! :cloud9: So glad you got to enjoy a night out. And all the shopping!! :cool1: Nice watch!

It was great to spend a little time at DTD! But we were kind of watching the clock knowing that Jeff would be arriving so we only made it to World of Disney. I can't wait to go back to DTD in September/October. We have a whole day planned for DTD & whatever...

Glad to be back!! Yes - date nights are a good thing! ::yes::

I'll be curious to see what you come up with for classroom b-day treats! If I see anything good in Sept/Oct, I'll let you know!

Very happy to have the new principal hired!! She is going to be so good for our school!

for suvies for gradeschool kids I would buy pencils. Maybe 2 or 3 for each kid. I remember in gradeschool Everyone either kept losing pencils and asking for them or being kids and breaking them on the heads:sad2:. They are cheap and the teachers wont have to send a letter home to parents saying they need more pencils at least for another day or two.:rotfl:

Hi Amy. Sounds like you have been busy with year end things. Hopefully it will slow down for you now.

I thought of you tonight as we headed to Bedford for a soccer game. We had to go Rte 125 to Rt 101 to Bedford. A very hot day to be playing soccer but at least it did not start until 6:00 & we got home around 9:00.

Love the kitchen towels you bought & the mug. I have something like the one you got. It says Mom on the handle & it a little lighter in colors.

Glad the boys made it through TS3!! I want to go see it when we are on vacation (staycation) in a couple weeks. I will drag my DH along with me:) I want to go to the So. Berwick strawberry festival this coming Sat.

Hi Amy! Thanks for all the life updates....the end of the school year is such a busy time. Glad to see you back!

So glad you made it through Toy Story 3....we saw it yesterday and LOVED it! :thumbsup2

Date night at Disney...what could be better? Your dinner sounds delicious....and a splurge every now and then is a good thing! Shopping with no kids at DTD is wonderful isn't it? ;)

Those kids were just too excited to sleep..can you blame them? :goodvibes

yay! Amy! We’ve missed you! Great pics of the field day! Yay for Toy Story 3! Can’t wait to see it…glad Alex made it through also! Glad your date night was amazing! Hey, I got that mug on the left also! And that new watch of yours is wwwaaayyy cuter than your old watch! LOL! Can’t wait to hear what’s next!

Hi All! A few quick replies before we head out to the lake for the day today. Tim is working, but my friend's daughter is here with us for the day & DMIL (Nancy) is joining us too. My friend (Nicole), her DH & DD (the one who is here today) just got back from Disney last night!! They had a blast. She is the one who asked me for help with ADRs about six months ago... after a couple trips without any planning. :rolleyes1 She was texting me throughout the week and I was so impressed with their touring. She was using FPs, arriving for RD, taking mid-day breaks... I'm so proud. :goodvibes

Thanks for reading!!

I thought of pencils at one point... I think that's probably the way we'll go next time. They definitely always need them at school! ::yes::

Hi Keala!! I'm glad to have the time for more DISing! I couldn't keep up with that pace for much longer or I would have dropped. I'm anxious to get this TR rolling again & to share more about my fall plans!

I love my blue Disney mug... it has so much to look at. I'm drinking my coffee from it right now. :thumbsup2

Sounds like a lovely date night meal. :goodvibes I'm not a big shopper, but our date night at Disney also included shopping at DTD. It's very nice to be able to shop without the kids! And I love those dish towels. :thumbsup2

I'm not a huge shopper either, but it was fun! I had been looking for a new watch for a while so that was big on my list of things to find.

Day Seven (Wednesday, April 28th)

When I left off, Tim & I had just gotten home from our date night & Jeff, Karen & K had arrived at the condo. After a good night's sleep... or not so good with the kiddos running around upstairs... We were up at 7am and Tim headed out to Dunkin Donuts to get everyone coffee & breakfast. Today was supposed to be our MK day from start to finish. However, we decided to start the day off at DHS because we thought K would like it & Jeff had been asking about TSM. Plus the kids love to ride the thrill rides with them. We all got ready & headed out to DHS. I don’t know exactly what time we left but we made it there right around opening. During our car ride over I started texting Christine, the mom of one of Zach’s classmates, Isabelle. A month or so before our trip we discovered that they were going to be at WDW on two of the same days as us. They were visiting family & were going to take two days to visit WDW for Isabelle’s birthday. It just so happened that they were going to be at MK on the same day! :thumbsup2 Isabelle really likes Zach, so we thought it would be a great birthday surprise to meet up! I don’t think Christine told Isabelle until that day! Anyways… We started texting that morning. Turns out they were actually at Epcot to have breakfast with the princesses in the morning and wouldn’t be at MK until the afternoon, which worked out perfectly with our plans to visit DHS in the morning. We planned to connect later in the day.

Jeff & Karen had tickets left over from last year when J & K didn’t make it… they had pre-purchased the tickets. But they needed to get one for K. They ended up getting her the Florida resident 4 day ticket even though they weren’t going to be there for 4 days because it was such a good deal. Turns out they decided to join us for a second park day, which worked out to our advantage… more on that later.

While Jeff, Karen & K went to the ticket window to take care of their business, the rest of entered the park to get the stroller. Alex kept talking about this Storm Trooper costume he had seen two days earlier at Tatooine Traders and Gramma agreed to buy it for him since he hadn’t found anything at the Dinosaur shop the day before. Zach stayed with Tim and waited for Jeff, Karen & K to enter the park. Nancy, Alex & I headed to Tatooine Traders. On our way there, Alex saw the kids lined up for Jedi Training – we had caught a glimpse of the show on Monday and now that Alex knew what it was he seemed interested. However, the line was already full at 9:15 for the 9:55 training! Luckily he wasn’t THAT interested so we continued on into the shop to find the costume. Throughout the day Alex wore the mask or full costume! It was hot, but it made him happy!

When we finished at Tatooine Traders we headed over the TSM where we were supposed to meet up with everyone but nobody was there yet. :confused3 I called Tim and he said he was still waiting for Jeff, Karen & K. I called Jeff, no answer… I called Karen, no answer… We waited a bit longer, used the restrooms and waited some more. Finally I remembered that K has a phone! I called her and Karen answered. Karen’s battery had died & Jeff forgot his phone in the car! :headache: As we were talking they spotted Tim & they all made their way to TSM to meet up with us. I never did find out if it took them all that time to get K’s ticket or if they just couldn’t find Tim. We were remembering how long it can take to do anything with a large group!

With the gang back together we headed straight for TSM. K looks thrilled in all of these photos! :rotfl:

Zach wanted to ride with Gramma and Alex wanted to ride with Karen so I rode with Gramma & Tim rode with K.

Our scores... finally I won!
100_0796.jpg

Alex didn't win... and he had a fit… He wanted to ride with Karen again so he could win, but she started feeling motion sick and couldn’t! She almost caved in and said she would ride again, but I could tell she didn’t feel good so there was no way I was going to let her ruin her whole day over his tantrum. Yes, autism makes it more difficult for him to accept certain things that are reality in life, such as losing, but he also needs to learn that it isn’t the end of the world. And sure enough, once we moved onto the next ride, he got over it. However, he did ask a few more times throughout the day.

Since Karen wasn’t feeling very good & Jeff had left his phone in the car, Jeff & K decided to walk back out to their car to get his phone & Karen’s Sea Bands. The rest of us walked over to RnRC. On the way over, Alex decided he wanted to buy Karen some Minnie Ears:

Technically Jeff isn't even divorced yet... so it's sort of a running joke...

Once we made it over to RnRC, Nancy & Karen found themselves a nice bench in the shade while Tim & I took the boys in search of backstage passes & a super stretch limo. When we finished, Jeff & K had returned so we rode again with them. After RnRC, Jeff & K wanted to ride ToT… and I had missed out on our first DHS day so I convinced Tim to go to see the Little Mermaid with Nancy, Karen & the boys. Zach wasn’t too excited about it, but said he would check it out. This was my first ride on ToT since they added the new audio & drop sequences. I didn’t notice much as far as the drops went, they always seem different to me, but we definitely noticed the audio upgrade. Jeff actually said something first, and he had no idea they had done anything. We were in the back row & could hear the audio right behind us. Apparently they added speakers in the elevator cars. It was a great ride, as usual!

A couple quick shots from inside the ToT lobby... I had reading Jack Spence's blog a lot before our trip & one of the articles was about ToT, which helped me appreciate some of the details:

After ToT & VOTLM, we decided to head to MK for lunch.

It was about 11:45 and we should have eaten at DHS. We would live to regret that decision…

I forgot to include these in my last post... we had a whole bunch of photopass pictures taken!

yes it will be a challange to find something inexpensive but still Disney cool...Rachel will have probably 20+ in her class and I don't know for Naomi-Ruth...but I have to buy something she can use or eat to pass out...

in 05 we bought big bags of Chip n Dale snacks and then divied them up into individual baggies.

Understand that losing thing :sad2: somethimes not so much losing but not going "his way"....kwim?
