"Mom, this is like a whole new Disney!" New 7/30 - pg 43 - Final Thoughts & PTR Link

I think the BWI would be a nice change of pace for you. :) Hopefully your big Orbitz discount sticks around!!

I dont think you can get to DTD fro any park. I think years ago people used to park (for free) downtown and take the buses to the parks. Getting out of paying for parking and using all the DTD parking spaces so people who actually wanted to go there couldn't find a place to park. Now about the best you can do from a park is to go to Saratoga, OKW or PO and take the boat - or walk from Saratoga. Or go to whichever resort bus shows up first then wait for their DTD bus.

Bummer... But that makes sense why they don't. Oh well... I'm sure we can deal with it for one trip to DTD during the day.

yes you guys are right...the TTC only goes from there to parks and vica versa....nothing to DTD

I'd say getting to DTD won't be too hard..I like mom3sonstt idea of just jumping on which ever resort bus shows first if going from a park ...you should get dropped off at MP first...the coming back part is the most annoying :headache: since it will stop at old PI and/or West side then possibly other transfers....I'd hop a cab back.

If you thought you'd want to go to DTD muliple times in one trip then it would be a hassel anywhere w/ the exception of walking or boat rides...but just once..you can deal right?

On the ride over to MK, I texted Christine to let her know our plans. They were still at Epcot, but would be heading to MK shortly too. We parked the car and headed to the tram after taking a few minutes to deal with Alex & his desire to wear his stormtrooper costume into MK!

I don’t know what time it was once we finally got into the park, but we were hungry & it was prime lunch time! (We usually eat at around 11:30 to beat the crowds, but my receipt shows that we bought our food at 12:55!)

Nobody could decide where to eat… I had hoped to eat at CHH, but was open to other options. We finally ended up deciding on Cosmic Rays since there is something for everyone there.

Our walk to Tomorrowland:

However, finding a seat for a group of eight was a little complicated! We broke up into our lines & ordered all our food. When some of us were finished we found one little table that had three chairs so at least the kids had somewhere to sit. Kathryn sat down with them & I ran around finding condiments & straws. When I got back there was another chair available. Eventually a couple other tables opened up and we all had somewhere to sit. Nancy took the longest to eat, as usual, but it gave us all the chance to hit the restrooms and get organized to start touring MK. At this point, the touring plan was out the window, but we knew we’d be back for at least part of another day and could catch anything we missed then.

After lunch we headed over to Frontierland.

Another rehab:

Alex was begging to ride Splash Mountain & Zach was actually considering riding! We convinced him that he could stay dry with a poncho, but he didn’t want the water to get in his eyes, so he also wore sunglasses (he's in the middle with me... K wanted to wear the other ponch)! Zach looked so cute! Nancy & Karen sat this one out, but the rest of us had a great ride!

Next up was BTMRR. Nancy rode along with us, but apparently she was expecting the WDW RR! :rotfl: She need to read a guidebook before her next trip!

My stomach was bothering me a little bit after these two rides. I don’t think it had anything to do with the rides though… I visited the restroom again & sucked on some peppermints and was good to go.

Up next... The Haunted Mansion! Finally a ride Karen could see with us. Zachary wanted to ride with K and Alex with Jeff so Karen & Nancy rode together allowing Tim & I our first ride along together.

Sorry... too many pictures so it wouldn't all fit in one post!

After the Haunted Mansion, Karen wanted to see the Hall of Presidents. I was shocked that Alex didn’t want to! Nancy went with Karen & the rest of us headed off to Fantasyland:

But we kept walking and decided to go on Space Mountain since we knew Nancy & Karen wouldn’t want to ride. We rode twice!

While we waited in line:

It was so much fun. I noticed a few of the updates… Interactive activities in the line (which we didn’t play with since we entered with the GAC), the ceiling is different – you can’t see the cars zooming along, and the seats are bigger (wider) and the backs go up higher – which was great because I knew the kids wouldn’t get whiplash – which I worried about the in past. The ride was fun… both times!

These are from the walk out:

Up next: Did we ever find Christine & Isabelle?

Alex makes a very fearsome Stormtrooper! :thumbsup2

Hurray for finally having lunch! That is so late for us to eat, we would have been losing our minds!

Looks like you had a lot of fun! I have never seen that sign with the Dread Family on it! That must be new or I am not as observant as I thought.

I love that Alex wanted to wear his costume! Isaiah went through a costume stage too.....those were the days! ;)

The seating at Cosmic Rays can be a pain...especially with a big family. :confused3

Sounds like you are having a great day so far! :thumbsup2

I'm glad you got lunch without too much more delay. Cosmic Rays is always a good choice for a bigger group.

I'm with Jackie- I've never seen that Dread Family sign either. Do you remember where it was at HM?

Great update(s). cosmic rays is always good because of the variety. it can get REALLY crowded though.

It seems like you got a lot done. Was it that crowded?

Whenever I see a stormtrooper, I hear the Darth Vadar music in my head.

Great pics at MK so far Amy! LOVE the full costume look!! It's awesome!! Alex is just too cute! Great Splash Mountain pic too! Gabe wasn't looking forward to getting wet either, luckily we only got a few "splashes"! I LOVE seeing Cowboy Goofy too!!:goodvibes

Hi Amy!:goodvibes So cute that Alex still wanted to wear his costume at MK!:thumbsup2 YAY for Zach riding Splash Mountain!:yay: Good idea on the sunglasses!! Glad you enjoyed SM! It was our first time riding so we weren't aware of all the changes! It sounds like they were for the better though!!;)

great update!.

I don't like Cosmic Rays for that very reason, seating is impossible!

What a fun day, you guys did a ton!
