Can Laura add the dining plan for AP holders if she doesn't have an AP? I know they usually make everyone on the same ressie do the same thing.

Have you booked room only right now? The reason I ask is because if you have room only and try to change it to a package you have to rebook, they are on different systems. I have had this happen to me. They would refund you your money and you would have to give the $200 deposit for the package, also everything would be due 45 days before the trip.

As for the AP question and dining, if you book the room with an AP rate under your name because you have the AP anyone in the room with you would have the same dining plan you decided on. Everyone in the room has to have the same package. She doesn't have to have an AP.

Hi Everyone!! This morning I was able to upgrade our room to a water view!! I checked the website & was surprised to see it there so I called right away! (Yesterday POR wasn't available at all - water or standard.) I did the upgrade then put in our room requests for river view (as opposed to pool).

Oooh, that's purty!

So glad you were able to request it! :goodvibes

Congrats on the upgrade!! :thumbsup2

Thanks Missy!!

Right now we have a room only booked with the current "special offer" open to the general public. 30% off...

The only way we would change it is if we could get a better deal with an AP rate. And if we could get POR... since we passed on the 40% offer with the pin code I recently got.

I'm not even sure we would do the AP DDP... We have three ADRs we could use for our TS meals (currently have four ADRs), but I also have the Tables in Wonderland card that would give us 20% off food & drink. And what if we don't want to be tied to the ADRs?? I guess we need to figure that out because I'm sure the AP discounts will eventually be extended through our dates so it would be good to know so we can jump on it if/when it happens.

Kathy

Very purty!!

The times we used our AP discount we were able to get the DDP, but there wasn't a deal on it -- it was the price per day that they charge. There wasn't a discount. The DDP, then isn't for "AP holders" so your friend shouldn't have a problem getting on the DDP -- the room discount is the room discount and only one person on the party needs to be an AP holder. That is how I was able to book two rooms at Christmas for family. They let me with my DH on the room reservation.

Good to know! The whole AP thing is new to me, it's helpful to have my DISfriends to help sort it out. :thumbsup2

Tuesday, April 27th continued... Animal Kingdom: We had just eating lunch at FTBBQ...

At some point, I think it was probably before lunch?, we stumbled across these guys:

The kids had fun dancing along:

After lunch Alex wanted to ride Dinosaur again so Tim headed that way with him. The rest of us slowly made our way back to EE through Africa. We stopped at one of those ball stands and got a couple balls.

(I need to take a picture of the balls... I'll post them later so I can get this posted tonight.)

Tim called while we were getting the balls & told us Dinosaur was closed and they would meet us at EE. As we were heading over there we ran into a family from school. The mom is on the PTO with me and the older daughter is in Alex’s class. He actually has a little crush on her. We didn’t even know they were going to be there! After a brief hello we continued on to EE where we met up with Tim & Alex. I told them we had see Alex’s friend and he wanted to say hello so I took him over to say hi. He was really cute about it. After another ride on EE, we headed to the safari. I was a bit concerned about riding mid-day but we actually saw a lot of animals. The kids had asked for the front seat and it was great!

Then it was time for Kali River Rapids! Alex & Tim had ridden it before but it was a first for the rest of us. It was a lot of fun even though we got very wet!

Luckily we planned to ride Kali as our last ride of the day. It was now time to head out of the park. Tim & I had a date night to get ready for!!

When we got back to the resort we had some time for R & R. Tim took Alex to play mini golf (which I never even drove by) while Zach, Nancy & I went to the pool. Tim & Alex met up with us at the pool when they were done. We swam until around 4:30 then headed back to feed the kids and get ready for our night out. We had a 6:45 ADR at Shula’s.:cool1:

Up next: Shula's & DTD!!

Hey what a great post! Seems like you had a great day at AK! I love Kali -- definitely a ride to make last or first so you dry off! Looking forward to hearing about Shula's!!!!

The drummers at Animal Kingdom are so much fun to watch!

What a coincidence to run into Alex's friend at the park that day! Was this your spring break? I can't remember.

Kali is one of our favorites -- a perfect way to cool off on a hot day.

Great safari pictures, but those rhinos running across the road are a bit :scared1: -- I am always a bit unnerved by them!

It sounds like a fun day at AK!:thumbsup2 We loved sitting in the front seat on the Safari. You are able to get some great pics of the animals! Looks like you had fun on Kali too!:goodvibes

Can't wait to hear about your dinner!

Sounds like a great AK day! A front seat safari...yay! You saw a lot of animals for the middle of the afternoon...we've done afternoon before too and always manage to have a good one. We may have to try the front seat, though!

Date night..... :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

Great update Amy!! I looked and looked and didn't see us in the background of any pics, oh well! Tell Tim and Alex that I am sorry Dinosaur was broken down, whenever my mom and I get in line it breaks down, so that's why they didn't get to ride that day because we were in line shortly before that...:rolleyes1

Looking forward to hearing about what you two did for your date night!!!

It was nice to arrive when we felt like it, do what we wanted & move at a laid back pace. :thumbsup2

We were looking forward to Shula's too! ;)

The Village Beatniks were a fun surprise... I headed into the bathroom & when I came out the kids had joined in the fun!

Yes - it was our spring break so there were several families from our school in Orlando that week... it was just odd that we didn't even know they were going to be there & we saw them.

It was my first time on Kali so I wasn't sure what to expect... I knew it would be wet & I'd heard that it was short. As long as we plan to do it last, I'll definitely ride again!

It always freaks me out a bit when there are animals in the road!

The front seat was a great view for the safari! It was our first time in the front. I've ridden in the back before & it's not so fun with all the bumps! My back was feeling much better that day, but I was afraid it would be huring again if I rode in the back.

I didn't have high expectations for the safari in the afternoon, but was pleasantly surprised!

Date night! :cool1:

That's funny that you were in the Dinosaur line at about the same time as Tim & Alex! Test Track always breaks down when we are in that line! :headache:

Great update Amy! :goodvibes Looks like a very fun day at AK!!

Can't wait to hear about date night. :yay:

Date night is coming up soon... I have a couple pictures to take before I can finish the update! I'll try to remember to take them tomorrow morning.

Great AK update!! Front row on the safari:thumbsup2

That is great how you ran into some friends from home. When we were going through one of the gates one of the CM's said "I think we have the whole state of NH here right now":) Of course we were there right after that week so I think most of the "NH" visitors had left but it was kinda funny.

Date night:banana:

Hi Amy still here...

good to hear you have a little more info on the whole AP thing..and glad the rest of your AK day went well...did you buy those balloon balls :confused3

J~

okay need to go catch up AGAIN, but read your last update...what a great day at AK. I think the whole talk of the animals being out mostly right in the morning is a myth...I've gone at weird times of day and had good luck and have gone right at opening and had bad luck....

Don't you wish Kali was longer?

OOOO...shula's

Kali definately should be longer. Years ago, it seemed longer than what it is now.

I love afternoons in AK! And Kali is an awesome way to end the day for sure. How nice that mini golf and pool time were included as well. Sounds fun!!
