Last night DD handed me a paper from school. As she was handing it to me she was pleading with me to say "no". I thought it was some sort of reverse psychology going on until I saw what it was. It was a letter asking for parent chaperones for the dance next month. :rotfl:

Yeah, my DD's would be the same. They are funny, they never want to do the scholl activities that are family things.....hmmmm....I wonder if I embarrass them?

LOL.. I used to do that!

My mom was very strict growing up, so my friends knew when she said NO, it was over. No if's, and's or but's about it. So, if my friend wanted me to go somewhere or sleepover, or do something I really didn't feel like, and she wouldn't take no for an answer, rather than get upset and argue about it, I would just say I have to ask my mom. Then I would pull my mom aside, explain to her that when I ask her something, please say no. I would then ask her in front of my friend, and would get the big fat NO. Worked everytime. I wasn't the jerk, my mom was. She didn't mind either. I think she enjoyed saying no. LOL

She actually gave you that paper!? If it had been me, you would've never seen it!;)

My mom and I have had this agreement for years. If there was something I didn't want to do, she'd say no so she could be the bad guy. She and her mother had the same when she was growing up too
As for the paper, I probably wouldn't have cared one way or the other, but I've seen that from my sister A LOT. My friends all used to beg their parents not to chaperone too.

So did you say yes or no?
;)

She says that its her time with her friends, which is fine with me and I understand. I wouldn't want my mother hanging around at the dance either. lol

So, what are you going to do? My mother used to chaperone our dances. I thought it was cool :)

Well my birthday is the day before so I just might go to dinner with some friends while she's at the dance. If I tell her that I didn't want to do it anyway, she'll change her mind and want me to do it. lol
