Help me...

DS is away at camp.

Want to surprise him with a new cell phone (we are renewing my husbands contract & moving me & DS to Verizon). He currently has a basic Tracfone.

With $ reason, what do you recommend?

Do you use camera options much?

Music options?

i suggest paying the extra 30 a month and getting unlimited texting. you may think you wont, but i promise, youll get much more than your money's worth out of it.

and yes, youll use the camera option a lot too.

I agree with Shelby on the unlimited texting. It's well worth it.

Cameras are used a lot. Especially when you don't actually have a camera in hand. It's very useful.

I personally don't use the music option that much. Because it's so much more expensive than iTunes for an iPod.

::yes::

Definitey get a camera phone, they're so handy!
And unlimited texting, or some kind of texting plan. They do have different ones, like 500 free a month.
And does he have an iPod or some kind of mp3 player? If he does, then forget the music, it's just unnecessary. If he doesn't have an iPod, then it might want to be considered.

He has a basic mp3.

Considering iPod for Christmas/bday present, but that is another overwhelming purchase for me -- too many choices with no idea how he'll use it...

I was thinking Music on the phone would be good for bus rides at away sports games, but if it is low quality or too costly to load then maybe not...

Camera option would be nice, but since he has an ipod/mp3 then I wouldn't go with a music option for the phone.

On verizon, one song is $1.99, on iTunes it's 99 cents.

Definitely skip the music if he already has an mp3.
