Mom needs a Break... so I'm going ALONE! PTR *NOW W/ PICS!*

WOW One week to go. You are going to have so much fun. I've done the MNSSHP solo and it is still fun. Love the PTR can't wait to hear how the trip turns out

I went back and looked at the pic.... although it does look like metal, its just the laminate. I cut it out on my Cricut machine.... then I wrote my name on.... then I laminated it ... then cut the laminate down so it was more mickey shaped, instead of square. I got the LGMH from home depot... but they were really thin once separated from the backing paper. I wanted something a little sturdier...so I used cardstock. It was a little lighter green than the HD alien green...but only by a 1/2 shade or so. I liked how they came out. They're pretty sturdy too, hopefully it won't snap off the little keyring hickey I found in the junk drawer. It was so pretty with the beads I had to use it... even though I have no idea where it came from:confused3

BTW... is that a new Hawaii ticker????? Didn't remember seeing it before, how exciting!!!

I think I have MORE cause for alarm now that DH is in charge:lmao: I'll have to make a color coded spread sheet to get him to comprehend where everyone needs to be and when and for how long.... because of course it all overlaps :rotfl: Hubbys have NO CLUE what excellent time management we Moms have!!!!

Paula
So you made a square on the cricut and then cut out the Mickey head and then laminated it? Sweet, my BFF has a cricut! And, yes that is a new ticker. We went to Hawaii in 2007 with my parents, no children, and my DH was bitten by a shark on our 3rd day there. So, we are planning on trying it again next year with them. (they go every year) Although, now my mom is telling my sister that she is concerned they're not going to be able to afford airfare this year. They usually use points from their credit card to get a free ticket and the points system has now changed and they're not sure that they're going to get a free ticket. Anyway, if we don't go it will be o.k. We don't have any strong ties there, just half of my DH's calf. ;) And it would mean that we could spend more days at Disney.

Actually I have a Mickey and friends cartridge for my Cricut. So I was able to cut mickeys head with it.... the laminate squares are... well square!! so I trimmed that part down. I luv my Mickey Cricut.... I saw it as an "investment" hahaha!!! I figured that since my trips are coming so much more often... it'll get alot of use!!

I can't believe that your DH is willing to go back after the shark attack!!! That would turn me off Hawaii for sure!! I haven't been there yet. DH and I's 15th wedding anniversary is about 15 months away, so we have been doing some preliminary trip planning. We were narrowed down to Alaska and Hawaii.... neither of us has been to either. Alaska won. We figured that with the climate changes... the glaciers will melt before Hawaii sinks:lmao:
However, nothing is booked or set in stone yet;)

Paula

wow I would love to go alone. I am going with my DD (22) at the beginning of November but I would love to walk around all by myself and do what I want instead of worrying about what everyone else wants. Maybe next time!!!!:lovestruc

It'll be fun with a grown DD!! It's harder to say what YOU want to do when they're little, but you guys should be able to have a bit more "give & take" I would think!! I love going with my little girls, but I am excited about the day that we are ALL grown ups and the 3 of us can go as just the girls!! I think that'll be a great time:woohoo:

HI Alice!!!

thanks so much! Did you dress for the party??? I still haven't made my shirt:confused3 I just can't decide what I want to do. I'm probably going to go sans the tshirt or the costume and just blend in with the background!!!

Umm... I'm a doedoe. (i know that's doe a deer:rolleyes1 ) I forgot that you made other tags besides the Mickey head one. My BFF doesn't have the Disney cartridge so I'll have to come up with something else. I'll have to pull out my creative side of my brain.:rotfl:

I'm enjoying your PTR! I think its great that you are going by yourself! I hope you have a great trip! BTW where in Pa do you live? I live in Greensburg.

Can't believe the trip is coming up so soon! Saw you're thinking about going to Alaska to. Do it!! I went in the winter and it was amazing. Now I need to go back in the summer to see it then. Definitely need to go before there's no more glaciers :(

Oh a packing I will go...
a packing I will go!!!

Yikes!! I have an awful lot to get done in the next two days, and here I am, DISing AGAIN!!! I live for TR updates:love:

I have to get my house cleaned and laundry done before Sunday. I'm actually leaving Sun afternoon, cause I'm spending the nite in PGH. I need to reserve Sunday for last minute packing and stuff. I have to feel like I at least TRIED to leave the house in shape before i leave. I'm one of those people who hate to come home to a dirty house, so i run around cleaning before I leave. Only problem this time... is I'll come home to a mess anyway, since i'm the only one leaving!! That gives DH et al the whole week to trash it:sad2:

DH seems to think I should get the porch painted in this short time frame too:rotfl: If I didn't know him so well, I'd think he was sipping something stronger than that Coca-Cola!!!

I still need to get the "spreadsheet" ready do DH knows his 'job' for next week.

I'm having these weird second thoughts about my OHana's ADR. I keep coming back to thinking I should cancel it and get to MK early.:confused3
I want to ride some rides, but there's SO much other stuff at the party I want to do!!!

Speaking of the party I'm not sure if i mentioned what I have on my to do list. I figured I'd mention it here... so I know how close I did or did not come to it:lmao:

1. Parade
2. Hallowishes
3. meet Tarzan
4. Villians Mix and Mingle
5. Haunted Mansion (how can you go to a halloween party and NOT do this?)
6. PotC (see reasoning above:thumbsup2 )

I'll see if I can fit anything else in too. Those are sort of my priority must dos:)

If I can sneak on... I'd like to ride Snow White and Peter Pan too. I love both of them but seriously the 60min waits for PP???:scared1:
I don't think its worth all that!! But since the lines are usually short at the parties... if its not long, I'll try to get them in.

Well I have to go take DDs to my Mama's house. They are having their final Halloween costume fittings today. Nana (my mama) has been making their costumes for the past 5yrs or so... she gets pretty elaborate with them. DD(7) is going as Little Bo Peep and DD(10) is going to be a "spider queen" of some sort. Me I bought a new Halloween Tshirt at Sears last night:rotfl: yep thats my costume. I ran out of time and gave up on making a shirt. but this on is cute... and was on sale at 50% off:cool1:

Paula

I can't believe it's so close. I'm so jealous! Have I mentioned that before?
DH and I met Tarzan, Jane and Turk over in Adventureland. It was so cool to get them all together! I've never met Jane until last year. You could always fast pass Snow White and Peter Pan. I absolutely LOVED Hallowishes and the parade. To me, it was better than Spectromagic. I hope you enjoy yourself as much as we did. I would love to be able to take my kids there sometime.
I too like to clean before I go on vacation so that I don't come home to a mess. But, you hit it right on the head when you said that your DH will be at home, so you will know what to expect.

The only Tarzan Character I've ever seen in the parks was Turk (outside AK).
I was really excited to hear that they are at the party!!:thumbsup2

I saw on a TR today pics og Megera (from hercules)!! It was in Epcot. I was excited aboutthat too, i didn't think ANY of the hercules characters were in any of the parks. It was the first time I've heard of anybody seeing her. It was funny, cause they didn't know who she even was til she signed thier autograph book!!

We've gone enough to see all the "usual" characters. We get excited about the odd ones now;)

Paula

Just a small tip- if you can make it to the second parade wait and do it because during the first one is one of the best times to get on the rides!

We saw Hercules several years ago at DHS. We even got to see Max, Goofy's boy, at MK. My DH and I almost cried, because he was our son's favorite when he was little. It was so neat to see him meet his favorite character!
I've been told that you can meet Snow White and the 7 dwarfs. We didn't see them last year during our party, so maybe you can find them.

Paula -

I was thinking about you today as your travel date rapidly approaches. I hope you have a marvelous trip and bring back lots of pics to post and lots of memories to share! HAVE FUN!

I so 2nd that & remember....NO GUILT! When will you EVER have a chance like this again. It hurts my DDs feelings a bit when I say going by myself was my favorite Disney trip. but, one day, I hope she gets to experience ia solo trip for herself. Any more ideas of where you are going to go eat?

Hi! I just wanted to check in to say have an amazing, relaxing, guilt-free, fantastic, AWESOME time! I can't wait to compare notes with you when we both get back! :goodvibes

AWWWW you guys are so great:hug: I'm feeling the love!!!!!

Well I'm leaving TOMARROW!!!!!:woohoo:

I have to get up early and check in with the airline online. I've never done that before. I've always had paper tickets!! :scared:

I plan to leave by 2:00. I only have an hour and a half drive, but I really want to relax and take a nice hot shower and watch the Amazing Race.:)
Which is the ONLY show I watch!

I think it would be cool to do an "Amazing Race" at Epcot!!! I think that would be fun!!

I got an email from WDW re hours and things to do and stuff today. That was neat, but I've known what I was doing for almost 3 months... even what I was eating:rotfl: so the info now seems pretty funny! I also got my Adventures by Disney brochures for 2009... wholly smokes did the prices go UP!!! I'd love to do one of them, I always get the new brochures so I can dream, and hope for a pin code for WDW!!!

I was out and about today doing errands, going to DD(10) soccer game, and stuff. The leaves are absolutely beautiful here now:yay: Fall is my favorite time of the year. The leaves usually aren't turned so much yet, but we had 2 weeks of really cold (frost even) temps and rain... so I guess the trees are confused:confused3 and changed early. I'm looking forward to a really pretty drive to Pittsburgh tomarrow:lovestruc

I don't know if I'll check in here til I get back. But I will post the link to my TR right here when I get back adn start it:thumbsup2

Have a great week... I WILL:lmao:
