Mom needed a break...no laundry, no hubby, no kids...sorta!! A SOLO TR..updated 11/15

I'll have to go back and read your trip reports but from what I gathered you had a wonderful time. I've never gone to Disney alone--sounds like it would be interesting. But I did want to thank you for posting this :)

Thanks for posting Disneyfan71!! It was a good time:goodvibes I definately recommend it, if you're game to try. I'm glad that you've enjoyed it.

Awww, Paula, I can't believe you're done!!!:sad1: But what a great report, it was so much fun to follow your adventure and wonderful trip. I felt like I lived it with you.:goodvibes Glad to hear your coworkers and kids like their gifts, even your DS! :yay:

Can't wait to hear your list of things your learned andif you'll do it again?!:goodvibes

Btw, great pic of the castle that last night, it was beautiful!!!:cloud9:

Oh Paula, i'm so sorry your trip is over!!! :( i've enjoyed reading it and your pictures are AMAZING. It's not all the camera, either, you have a fantastic eye. i'll be looking forward to your final thoughts but i wish you'd had another week of days to tell us about :)

Oh, I'm sad it's over! But I can't wait to hear what you learned and if you'd do it again. I am starting my wish list for when I get to take my solo trip one day.

I'm really sad its over too:sad1: I rushed a bit so i could get to the DVC part... I really should have visited the DVC dudes on Monday... then I could have stretched my TR out over a couple more weeks:rotfl:
Thanks again for your compliments:cutie:

Hi, Paula. I've been lurking on your trip report and loving it! I announced a few weeks ago that "I'm going to Disney World for my birthday in February even if I have to go by myself!" So far, it looks like I will be solo for the first half of my trip, then my DH will join.

I was getting nervous about the solo part--even tho I've done an afternoon or so solo on trips before (DH is not so much on Disney:confused3 ) I've never done it solo all the time. Your report has given me courage. I can do this! Did you say you were going to do a "pros/cons" post later about going solo? Looking forward to that if so.

Your pictures are beautiful, and it sounds like you had a great trip overall (sorry you were sick for part). Thank you for sharing!:flower3:

Welcome and thanks for posting!!! I think a half and half trip would be great:thumbsup2 I really did almost back out of this trip several times, before I left!! It took more courage than I thought it would for me to go thru with it... but I'm glad I did it!

Wait! That's the end? But I don't feel like it should be done. Make up some more. We won't know, right? I'm almost as sad that this report ended as I was when my vacation ended. Oh well. I'll just have to wait for reports on the other trips you have planned this year. Don't leave us hanging Paula. For some of us, its as close as we will get until next October (unless some kind of miracle happens.)

Well, I could make some stuff up.... but I don't know if I'm that talented:lmao: I'm figuring on starting a new PTR when I have this done. I just need to decide WHICH trip I'm going to PTR, or do you think I should just do them all and color code the entries:rotfl: Lets see... I have the July trip with DH and DS... both sorta unDisney, so I'll probably have some solo stuff in there..... I have the November trip, which the TR should be entertaining at least cause its the commandos (me, DD10, and DD7), the Newbies (DB, DSil, DN14, DN9), and the Nanna!! Hmmmm pretty good TR name.... I may have to use it.

I just reached the end of Day 4 and I wanted to say how much I am really enjoying it! Thanks so much for sharing all of this- for everyone who dreams of a solo trip- like me, it's great to live through you!

What??? The trip part is over? How did that sneak up on me so fast? I'm not ready. Sounds like a nice last day. You are putting me to shame buying treats for your co-workers! I've never watched Wishes from Fantasyland. I may have to try that sometime.

Looking forward to hearing what you learned and what you'd do again! popcorn::

Hehehe... I can't afford to buy for all of them (there's like 75 people that work in my department) So I only buy for the ones I like..really shortens the list... :rotfl:

Just kidding...I just buy for the other overnite shift folks... out of 75 only 6 of us are crazy enough to work 3rd shift:goodvibes

But...But...I don't want your report to end...I love hearing about your solo trip!!!! I'm so glad you had a great time. As I begin to think about it more and more I start to get more anxious..about riding rides by myself and things like that...but reading your report..pardon the break into song here..."I can see clearly now the rain is gone" LOL!!! THen all my worries are gone and I get all excited again!!!!

THANK YOU!!

Awww, I'm sad to see it end!! It sounds like you had a great time! Thanks for sharing!! You take amazing pictures!!!

Great idea to do a pro/con list. Can't wait to see it. I can think of a couple pro's off the top of my head. No meltdowns to deal with!

AAWWW, it's over! :sad1: :sad1:
I'm glad you submitted the night picture of EE. You're right, the lion one was great, but there would be a lot of animal pics. Good job!!!
I'm looking forward to your next post, although it means that I won't be hearing from you in a while. :sad1:
Sorry to hear about your little toe. I bet that hurt a lot!!

Paula -

I love you last day. You really went "hard" on this trip. Much harder then when I went solo. My solo trip was so boring compared to yours that it wouldn't even be worth retelling the story. And 7 trips on EE - geese. I get dizzy when I do two back to back rides! :faint:

I hope you will post a few more pics and I am looking forward to your exciting conclusion.

It's funny you say that...because I thought I was REALLY laid back!! We are usually rope drop til close commando types. I've NEVER spent the whole evening at the resort reading or watching tv:scared1: I couldn't believe I did that:rotfl: I don't want to say I got bored by myself...but I did get restless if I stayed too long in one place...maybe that's why I seemed to go so 'hard':confused3

The EE thing... I KNOW I did that just because I COULD:lmao: I had had enough after the 1st 3 rides...but there was no line...how could I NOT go again??:lmao: So I kept going:rotfl: I'll have to go thru my pics and do a last pictoral montage, I guess:thumbsup2

I don't think that I'll have much of a chance with the moon pic:sad1: But hopefully, its different enough that SOMEONE, besides me, will vote for it:lmao:

Don't worry... you'll be hearing from me:rolleyes:

Thanks about the toe... I never got a bad blister like that while down there. I'm glad it was on the last day, cause I had trouble walking too far for a few days afterward

Your welcome:hug: You are going to have an AMAZING Solo trip!! Just wait and see:upsidedow

You have 1 BIG advantage I didn't.... NDH will be having a great time on his own trip...so you won't have the guilty stuff, since this is sorta a trade off:thumbsup2 That was probably the worst part for me...knowing I was having a great time, while everyone else was back home doing the humdrum daily stuff.

Sounds like you had a wonderful time. I've never been to Disney alone and don't think I could personally. Still, I'm glad you had a good time and thanks for the trip report :)

I am bumping you to encourage you to write your exciting conclusion. Plus aren't you getting ready to go again with your family (or is that next year?)

hehehe!! I'm hard at work on the 'exciting conclusion' it'll be up sometime this weekend. I'm 'gram-sitting' til Sunday. My inlaws are going out of town, so someone needs to stay w/ DGram (94)!! Me and the girls volunteered, so we'll be there...and I'll have nothing to do but finish this bad boy:rolleyes1

I'm going down in July w/ DH and DS (lord help me!!)

and over thanksgiving '09 with the girls, my mom, my brother, Sil, and DN(15) and DN(10)...Lord REALLY help me on that one:rotfl:

I was crunching #s today...not even using fuzzy Disney math... but I discovered that I could make a trip down the 1st week of Feb... for a grand total of $370:woohoo: .... I'm currently working on DH to let me...wish me luck!!:wizard:

Yes yes yes :)

Need help working on your hubby? ;)

Okay that sounds dirtier than i intended. i was just gonna bake cookies or something, honestly.

Wow! You have to go for that price! Are you an anual pass holder? Or does that price include a ticket too? That includes airfare? Holy cow!!! I wish my DH would send me by myself. :rolleyes1
