Day 7- Departure Day
(More Rants than Pictures)
Yes, It's that day I've been dreading. But to be completely truthful, my body was ready for a break - I was tired. As I've said before, this is best my feet have ever felt at Disney World. I took five pairs of shoes: 2 pairs of Tennis Shoes, 2 pairs of
Crocs, and one pair of Nike Rugged Sandals. They all fit well, but of course the one I liked the least, fit the best - the Nike Sandals. I'm wearing them in the picture below.
When I bought them, they didn't have the half size I needed, so they are a bit too big. Not cute, but they felt GREAT!
But I digress!!!! It's our last day, and we were informed that we were going to be picked up at 12:40pm. Insted of trying to run to our favorite parks and squeeze in more magic, we decide to go to Downtown Disney. I had a wake up call for 7:30, my last one. Why can't we get these at home?! We packed, called bell services, and we're off!
We caught the bus, and got there 10mins before World Of Disney openned at 9:30am. I LOVE this store. BUT! I have 2 major complaints:
1. Since the store is called "World of Disney", shouldn't it have stuff from all the parks, and most rides?! There was stuff from PIRATES of course, but nothing else. So no, there was no Expedition Everest section in there! NO MAGNET!
2. Why aren't there any shirts for adult women over size 10. Now let's keep it real, you've seen my pictures, I'm not tiny, but I'm not HUGE either! And even if I was, can't I come home with a decent, cute Disney World shirt?! I felt like SCREAMING in that store! I don't know what XL means in WDW, but it doesn't fit me! I mean, I COULD get it on, but you see every roll and sin that I own! So I go over to the men's section, and what do I find? Some of the shirts even come in 4XL!!!! So some big dude who could care less about the world can have a shirt, but I can't!!!!

I can not wait to fill out a Disney questionaire. Who do they think come to Disney World? WOMEN WITH KIDS! So why can't they, and I, have a shirt too?
And have you noticed the amount of pregnant women there? When I was checking in, there were 3 pregnant women in line! So they can't get shirts either? Come on, they could have some maternity shirts, or Women's-sized shirts they could squeeze into!!!!
After getting over the fact that I am NOT going home with a decent shirt, I buy a few things for myself and my friends. Then we head over to the Christmas store! LOVE THIS PLACE. I end up buying another ornament, and stand - very cute!
We head back to the resort for our last counter service meal.
When we finished eating, I realize that we still have snack credits left. Last year when this happened, I just ordered extra water and desserts to eat in the airport and on the plane. But of course, people can no longer take food and drink on the plane.

So I approached a young couple, told them the situation, and asked what they wanted. They could only think of water. So I used up the rest of the credits on them. Hopefully if they had any left over, they would've passed them on as well!
Now it's time to take the walk of shame over to the Magical Express Bus Stop.
I think back to the day we arrived on the bus, and how excited we were.
The night we arrived, we went to EPCOT for Illuminations, and afterewards, I HAD to ride Malestrom in Norway and take a silly picture.
I thought back on all the fun we had, and once again thanked God for yet another trip. I also thanked Him for returing home to a job, and having a chance to start saving all over again for another vacation the next year.
The bus pulls up . . .WHAT'S THIS? It's a Mears bus. The trip is definetly over.
We stop at The Boadwalk and The Carribean Beach Resorts before the airport.
Unfortunantly when we check in at AirTran, we find out that the exit row seats have been taken. The person checking us in, showed no remorse - welcome to the real. non-Disney World! So when we find our seats on the plane, I realize why some people fly business class. This seat has just a little more leg room than the "car" for Snow White!
The flight was fine, and we returned to a cool and rainy Baltimore. That night we had to stop at our church first, because a life-long member of our church had died. Sunday, while on our way to Animal Kingdom, we found out that her battle with cancer was over. The Homegoing service started right after the plane landed. Her daughter is a HUGE Disney fan, and said how 2 weeks before, they were trying to figure out how to get their Mom to Disney World again. Well, she's in a far better place now! Her family and ours are sorry that she's gone, but we thank God that we know where she is, and that we will see her again! Thank you Jesus!
I walked in the house to see that all was well. As I unpacked, I thought back to my wonderful trip! It was great, and I got to meet some fun people from the site! It was also fun to see the look on my Mother's face everytime a DISer approached me!
Thank you for reliving my trip to the World with my Mother! I'll still continue add more pictures to what I've posted so far, and even post more just for the fun of it! I took over 500 pics, and I HAVE to share! So stay tuned . . .
Day 7 Lessons Learned
1. Do not feel obligated to go to a park on the last day. You're tired, take it easy and go home!
2. Shop at World of Disney sooner in the trip. I forgot that Disney Visa users get 10% off, there were some things on sale there that weren't at the other shops, and they did seem to have more XXL shirts there. Also, I think it's better to buy stuff earlier on, so you can figure out how you're going to pack it!
3. In the morning of your last day, be aware of how may snack credits you have left so you can use them up.
4. Pay more, to fly on another airline to get more leg room. This was the first time that I did not get the exit row seat, and it was crappy. I don't want to have to do this again.
5. Pick the departure flight based on what time the bus will pick you up. I could've used an extra hour or two. But! The earlier flight time did allow us to make it to the Homegoing service.
6. Don't regret what you didn't do. Try to plan another trip, and put those things at the stop of the list!
