I am taking my son to Disney alone for his 13th birthday. I am looking for ideas of things to do with him. We are staying offsite and will be there from May 23-June 6th. So far, I have booked a Jedi Mickey dinner at Hollywood Studios. We will eat at Via Napoli on our Epcot day because he loves pizza. I got a dinner ressie for BOG (this one is a bit selfish).
What else should I look into? We will have military tickets with hopper and waterpark options so we will be going to each water park once and the arcade probably twice.

* Disney Quest
* as you're planning on hitting the water parks anyway, what about surfing lessons or the swim with the sharks thing? Something to think about.

We are definitely doing the swimming with the sharks!

I think swimming with the sharks may be closed. It was being closed for refurb and the rumor is it may not come back. I certainly hope it stays as this has been a must do on our vacation. Just a heads up.

I went on October with my DD for her 12th. I would say:

DisneyQuest
Bowling at Splittsville is fun
Pirates League (not sure if 13 is too old)
Rent the water sprites on the lake
fishing excursion (May/June is a great time to go there)

Just a few idea. I have down the fishing a couple of times with DS14 and it is relaxing and fun. You catch a ton of fish and the get to cruise the waterways.

They have archery lessons at Fort Wilderness if that is something he'd be interested in. Also as someone else mentioned there are places he can go fishing (I know Port Orleans Riverside does it, I imagine there are probably other resorts that do as well).

I thought about that pirate thing but wasn't sure if he would be too old. Also, would I go with him or is it kids only?
Archery would be a neat option. He did some archery at 4-h camp last year and really enjoyed it!

Pirate league is a lot of fun for all ages. They paint your face with theater make up get a sword do a picture and you can do it also. Or you can just sit and watch.

What about the train tour it is supposed to be cool but we have not done it yet

Miniature golfing would fun

Horseback riding at fort wilderness

Have fun what a great experience for both of you

Depending on his level of interest in Disney, look at Dining with an Imagineer which they do at Brown Derby in Hollywood Studios. My DS has done twice and hopes to do each time he goes. It really is a great value considering the l4 course lunch included. It's 3x a week, only 10 people each time I think so book asap, you can always cancel (and make someone's day). You also get a glass plate signed by the Imagineer and a CM pin engraved with your name.

Don't know your budget but Discovery Cove is an awesome day and they have a day resort option and a day resort plus swim with dolphin option. We swam with dolphins once and have been back on day passes 4-5 times. Wonderful treat!

Orlando Eye should be open by then. They start putting the cars on this week. It's like the London Eye. Underneath with be a Madame Tussauds and SEA LIFE Orlando Aquarium. https://www.officialorlandoeye.com/
