Mom and Dad's Dream Trip-34 Yrs in Making-Jun08 SOUVIE PICS PG 51 NEXT TRIP!!???!!!!?

You had me at Earl Grey---I swear we were separated at birth Jackie!!! I am so glad you enjoyed this update and that you took special time to read it!!! You are so sweet to get all teary eyed watching the video!!! You will thoroughly enjoy the next update then!!! I will be thinking of you tomorrow---God bless you!! ;o)

We so LOVE the video of Megan eating that ice cream---that moment sitting on the bench in TL watching her eat that ice cream bar was probably one of our favorites EVER!!!

We had a great day--thanks to Tom's FP abilities--got SO much done!!! By Friday, we were really missing POTC at this point!

I think Megan is starting to melt Tom, but hasn't broken through exactly yet---we are still working on it though-------------on a daily basis of course!!! ;) ;)

The next update will be soon---stay tuned kiddo!!! We'll talk soon!!

I firmly believe we were separated at birth!!! :rotfl:

We missed POTC this trip also -- it's one of my favorite Disney rides.

I shall try to wait patiently for the next update! :goodvibes

Hey Jen! I've been gone for a while painting my dining room and having a birthday party for my little one. So I've finally caught up and LOVED the video of Megan eating that ice cream. Like she's trying to figure out the best way to lick all the drips coming off the cone. Too funny. I can't believe that you're that close to the end of your trip. I hope that you can figure out a way to get to use the discount code. I would love to read another TR!

We all knew this day would eventually have to come, and here it is. The sadness I feel is as overwhelming as the sadness we felt getting up on that last day--I want to just curl up in my bed and CRY---I WANT TO GO BACK TO MICKEY'S HOUSE!!!!

Well our day starts out with a little surprise to you all--since we did not get to go to our Chef Mickey's breakfast on Tuesday, I had rescheduled to do a breakfast at Crystal Palace on Saturday morning instead. YEAH!!! So once we got up, we loaded up the vehicles and said adieu to our lovely OKW room, and then Mom, Dad, Kristi, Tom, Megan, and myself hopped on a MK bus for our breakfast!!! Mike and the kids were going to head to DTD that morning to get some souvie shopping in!! We had a later AM ADR, so the park was already open and bustling when we got there, but we enjoyed walking down that Main Street one more time!!! We did not have to wait long before we were whisked into the restaurant and seated for our breakfast. Megan was much more excited about seeing the Pooh characters than we ever thought she would be---we actually almost didn't take this ADR because we thought she would not enjoy seeing the characters at CP, but as you will see, SHE REALLY LOVED IT!!! I was glad to be able to take my parents there for a lovely breakfast, because some of their fondest memories of their previous trips center around eating at CP, so I was making another dream come true for them! YEAH! As soon as we got settled, Megan received a "dream" from a nearby family---they were celebrating a birthday and had this huge cake made by the restaurant, and they brought over a piece for Megan. So she got to start her breakfast and morning with a lovely piece of chocolate cake!! Needless to say, she was VERY happy!!! Of course I went and made her another plate with some healthy and nutrious foods to go along with the cake too!!!

Before we knew it, the characters started showing up---and boy was she excited to see them!!

First up was Tigger!!!

421.jpg

422.jpg

424.jpg

Tigger was SO friendly and great!!! He even gave my Dad a back massage on his way around the table!!! He gets even MORE friendly later!!!

Then Piglet stopped for a moment!!

425.jpg

426.jpg

She was having SO much fun---she was just so excited and happy!!! It was a great way to start our day!

Next came Eeyore!!!

428.jpg

429.jpg

We were all enjoying our lovely breakfast, when Megan got another surprise visit from Tigger---this was SO much fun!!! He spent some time with Megan, and then, we think he had developed a crush on Kristi, because before he left this time, he leaned over and kissed her on the cheek too!!! It was SO funny, and literally made Kristi blush! And then, we got another visitor!!!

431.jpg

432.jpg

433.jpg

Then the bill came---we only had 1 credit left for Megan's meal (since she slept through dinner the first night) so Tom and I paid for everyone's breakfast. We REALLY wanted to do something to say thank you to Mom and Dad for the WONDERFUL trip!!! Kristi didn't see us pay, so when she was asking where the bill was, I jokingly told her that we won a dream--a free breakfast from CP!!! We all kind of giggled, so I thought SURELY she knew I was joking, but SHE ACTUALLY BELIEVED ME!!! She kept going on and on about how excited she was that we finally won a dream on the last day!!! It was so cute that we almost didn't have the heart to tell her the truth!!! But we eventually did, and she laughed at her own expense!!!

As we were heading out of CP, Mom and Dad said that they were going to head back to OKW to meet up with Mike and the kids, so we had to give our farewell vacation hugs good bye right outside of CP with that beautiful castle in the background!! We were all very teary eyed and sad, but so thankful for the most wonderful time we all had at Disney once again! There were trickles of tears as I hugged and thanked Mom and Dad for their most generous gift to all of us!! THANK YOU MOM AND DAD!!!! WE LOVED EVERY MINUTE OF THE TRIP, AND CAN NEVER EXPRESS OUR GRATITUDE FOR YOUR GENEROSITY ENOUGH!!! THOSE MEMORIES ARE PRICELESS MEMENTOS THAT WE WILL NEVER FORGET, AND FOREVER CHERISH!!! WE LOVE YOU!!

Once they left, we decided to take in a few more rides before we left. We asked our princess what she wanted to do and see and the first stop was Philharmagic!!

Here are Megan and Buddy Bear enjoying the show!

434.jpg

435.jpg

After the show, we checked into PP--line was very long and FP return was quite a ways away, so we knew we would not be taking that in one more time---until next time Tink!!! So we headed over to IASW, and got on there fairly quickly for one more ride through the land of the dolls!! Then, she wanted to hit the carousel once again. Tom ran to get some Winnie FP while we rode.

436.jpg

I tried to take a neat artistic shot in the mirrors.....can you see them???

437.jpg

Then a shot with "Aunt Kwissy" but Megs turned her head!!

438.jpg

We then hopped off there and got on Snow White quickly for one last ride!! After SW, we realized we had a lot of snack credits to burn, so we all got some shakes at the ice cream place right outside of it. While we were enjoying our shakes, Tom realized that he could run to go get Buzz FP now, so we waited outside of Pooh for his return and finished our shakes. Once he returned, we frolicked once more through the One Hundred Acre Woods.

Then we meandered our way down to TL to take in our ride on Buzz.......
and were finally able to get a good pic of Megan playing!!!

439.jpg

440.jpg

Once we were done with Buzz, we realized that we would need to start getting ready to go--- :sad1: We all needed to stop in the stores to pick up a few more souvies, and we knew that we would need to head out soon too to begin our journey home. So we started up the stores on Main Street---Megan wanted to find something for Tom for Father's Day, and she saw it almost immediately---it was a Mickey shirt that said "World's Greatest Dad!" and she picked it out herself because she saw the word DAD and knew it said "Daddy!" I also picked up a scrapbook packet and an ornament. Then I headed across the street to use up the rest of the snack credits on Rice Krispy treats from the bakery---I got six!! Tom then started on a hunt for Megan---she liked the plush "cutie" Princess dolls, but of course wanted one of Snow White---he looked over all the stores on Main and even went back to the ride to see if it was there---NO SUCH LUCK!!!! They had every other princess but that one--doesn't make much sense to us either!!! He SO wanted to find it for her, but had to come back empty handed!! While he was looking, we headed to the rocking chairs by the Kodak shop and rested and relived every wonderful moment of our trip!!!

441.jpg

442.jpg

443.jpg

My sentiments EXACTLY Megs!!! So much sadness!!! We were so sad---especially when Tom came back without the doll!!! So we all sadly ambled out of the most magical place on earth and hopped on an OKW bus. Once back "home" we loaded up in our van, and started the saddest drive ever---our drive HOME!! It was a fabulous trip---one we will never forget, but we all did NOT want it to end!!! We somehow got turned around heading back to the expressway, so we ended up taking a scenic route through Orlando, but eventually were pointed in the right direction and back on our route home! We did stop late that night somewhere in TN, and then resumed our drive home on Sunday morning---we got home Sunday afternoon, and enjoyed a leisurely afternoon recuperating from the trip! IT WAS SO WONDERFUL!!!!

More to come----Photopass pics, etc. etc. etc!!!!

No! I don't want your trip to be over! I'm sure you've accepted it, but I just can't yet. Do we get to see pics of all the souvies?

Crystal Palace looked like so much fun for you all. I'm considering it now for an early breakfast because I'm getting greedy and want that empty park castle picture! But we may have too many early mornings scheduled.

I'm sure this has been asked before but I can't remember...have you looked into buying DVC? There are some really good resales right now. Especially since you can drive there, you don't have to worry about airfare, which for most people is a huge expense! It seems like it would make sense for your family, as you love "Mickey's House" so much, and we all want you to have many more trips (and PTRs and TRs--selfish aren't we?).

Hope all is well with you and your family as summer is winding down. :sad1: What will Megan be doing for school in the fall? If you've already told us about that, too, I apologize! Maybe you can just keep writing about your family, even after your TR is done!

I'm so sad that your trip is over! But if you ever end up driving through Nashville I hope we can have a little DIS meet!

Those little videos of Megan put a smile on my face. My kids are getting so big that I will never see that look on their faces again. So sad to see it end. Any news on a future trip yet???

How happy and sad at the same time! That looked like a great breakfast, and I laughed when you said Kristi really thought you won a dream! :rotfl:

Is it really over? :sad1:

So it was sad even visiting a park the last day.... I am so glad you got Crystal Palace Reservations!!! We tried the whole time we were down there... it is for sure on our next trip list! My girls are not big into those characters... but loved it too!

Glad you got to hit some of the favorites before leaving... and I know exactly what doll you wanted in Snow White... we have looked several times too. We have Ariel, Jasmine, Belle but the one the girls want would of course be Snow White!

I will take some pics of the souvies---and I also want to post the photopass CD pics---so there is still more to come--don't worry!

We really think doing the early AM breakfasts is a good way to go!! I hope to do more of those next time we go!

We have often looked into DVC--looking into it at the present time too, although I have never really thought about the resales--might be easier for us to do. Right now we have a lot on our plate---we are going to probably need to get Tom a new car/truck within the coming months and are also looking at downsizing my big SUV to something a little smaller and better on the MPG!!! We are also looking in to getting our current home ready to go on the market and moving into our "dream house." Who knows how long all these items will take us to accomplish--hopefully sooner than later. Once we get all those items settled, I will feel much better about buying into a DVC---TOTALLY want to do this at some time though!!!

Hope all is well with you and your family as summer is winding down. :sad1: What will Megan be doing for school in the fall? If you've already told us about that, too, I apologize! Maybe you can just keep writing about your family, even after your TR is done!

Things are busy but good--we've had unbelievably BEAUTIFUL weather this past week, so we have really been enjoying our time outside!!! Megan will be going to preschool 3 days a week at the same school she went to last year for her 3yo preschool program. She starts after Labor Day. It is a Blue-Ribbon school, and we REALLY love it there---very close to our home too!! She will be having the same great teacher she had last year, and most of the same kids are coming back for school again---they always add a few more kids as they move up to the 4yo program, so she will get to make some new friends too! On the 21st of this month, our princess starts ballet class with her little buddy Julia from preschool!! We are so excited and can't wait!! I will definitely keep you all posted and HAVE to keep writing about our goings on!!! I do have some things to update you on soon----stay tuned!

I'm so sad that your trip is over! But if you ever end up driving through Nashville I hope we can have a little DIS meet!

Wouldn't that be fun!!! I will keep you posted and hope that sometime I will be going through your area soon!!!

Love this picture!

Me too!!! She had SO much fun this morning--we were so glad we decided to do this---made it a little easier on the last day for us!

Those little videos of Megan put a smile on my face. My kids are getting so big that I will never see that look on their faces again. So sad to see it end. Any news on a future trip yet???

I will have some updates on "things" soon!!! Stay tuned!!!

Is it really over? :sad1:

How true Cheri!!! It was a delicious breakfast---we LAUGHED too!!! :rotfl2:

I wish it weren't, but there is more to come soon!!!

I just wish there NEVER had to be a last day at Disney!!! ;) They were hard to get, but we were so glad to get them while we were there!!! I was surprised how excited she was---too fun!!

It was fun taking them in one more time, but always sad when you think, "This is the last time we will ride....." :sad2:

Can you BELIEVE they don't have that doll in Snow White?!?!?!?!?!? Poor Tom ran all OVER that park to find it before we left!!! That was really the only thing she asked us for all week too! Hello Disney!!! You kind of HAVE to make those dolls in ALL your princesses!!! DUH!!!!

Don't worry gang----more is coming soon!

I'm sad too that your TR is ending... CP is my favorite character place! You can just see how happy Megan is in those pictures!

That is funny about getting turned around on the expressway, we did too, we followed the directions from the hotel but they had us going the wrong direction to get towards 75...

Thanks for the PM info, that was very helpful.. I'll let you know if we decide to ever go that route... Can you "sneak" in a 5th person for the 1 bedrooms, or is it pretty strict for the sleeping 4 thing? b/c then we would need a 2 bedroom at that seems pretty pricey...

I'm sad too Annette!!! I do have a few more posts--some Photopass pics and souvies to share, but it is like the trip is REALLY over now!!! ;) We really enjoyed our breakfast at CP, and you can tell that Megan LOVED the characters there!!!

I have NO idea what we did--it is so easy getting in there, but we got SO lost leaving!!! Hopefully we will fly next time, so we won't have to worry about that!

I REALLY am not sure about the room occupancy issue. I have asked and tried to find this info before, but have had NO LUCK!!! We obviously DON'T have a problem with that, but I'm sure there has to be someone who has gone through this before---you might have better luck posing that question over on one of the DVC boards. Glad the info could help!!!

I am working on getting some pics of my souvies---kind of hard with a broken camera----but should have them here soon! I also recently received my Photopass CD, so once those pics are uploaded, I will post them here---there are some WONDERFUL pictures of Megan to share with you all!!!

I am so sad that the trip is over, but I thought I could update you on some things going on here with us!!!

I, along with so many others, are eagerly awaiting the promise of a Disney Visa Code coming soon! I am hoping that with all the vacation Tom still has to take and a great discount, I can convince him to take another jaunt to WDW!!! Keep your fingers crossed for us!!! I would love to go in October, but that is quarter close for Tom, so he will be TOO busy all month long!!! So then I am going to hope for a mid-November trip. I know I am probably dreaming, but it never hurts to have a litte hope and a little dream now does it?????? I am afraid that if we don't get the trip in this fall, we might have to wait until the end of summer or beginning of fall next year-----------------------------------------because we already have plans for June!!! More on that in a moment! We won't be able to go Jan-April due to all the year-end reports and documents that Tom has to file at his work---he is NEVER allowed to take vaca during that time period. May might be an option---but we have never been then....................anyone know what it is like???? Any discounts ever come out for May?????? So, that is where I am right now on trying to get Megs back to WDW before she starts Kindergarten. Wish me luck!!!!

Now, in reference to June, we already have a family trip booked, but it is NOT at WDW, BUT at our second favorite place----the beachhouse in Corolla that we stayed in last year!!! Corolla is the northernmost point of the OuterBank islands---it is so peaceful and relaxing there!!!! IT IS WONDERFUL!!! We rent out this one house that is just AWESOME---it has its' own pool and its' own private stretch of beach!!! We are going down there June 13-21, and so far, I know that Mom, Dad, Kris, Justin, Tom, Megan, and I are all in. Mike hasn't said whether or not he and the kids are going yet, so we will have to just wait and see! It should be a GREAT time!!!!

Things are getting VERY busy around here--we are heading into our craziest time of year!!! Tom is going to take a week of his left over vacation next week. He is going on a golf getaway with some of his buddies at the beginning of the week, and then the rest of the week we are going to tackle some of our big to do's!!!! We want to rip out the carpet in our family room and hall, and put in hardwood or a good laminate flooring in the kitchen, family room, and hallway. Luckily my Dad employs a great flooring guy, so he should be able to do it for us next week!!! YEAH!!! We have been wanting to do this for quite some time, so it will be nice to be finally done! We are also going to be redoing Megan's bedroom. She hasn't wanted us to change it up until now, so we are eager to jump on the opportunity now that she wants it changed. Kristi is an artist and decorator, and brought me a Home Depot pamphlet recently with some very tastefully done princess rooms in it----when Megan saw them, she wanted her room changed immediately!!! So with Kristi's artistic talents and help, we are going to update her room-------FINALLY!!!! It still has the same paint and border we put up when we were expecting her!!!! Luckily we didn't go with a very "baby" theme, so it hasn't been too bad, but I definitely think she needs to change it now that she is about to be 5!!!! We are also going to take in some fun things around the area---Coney Island and we may head up to the Children's Museum in Indianapolis.

We are also probably going to be doing some car shopping. We bought my SUV a couple years ago when we thought that we would be having more children. Now that we know we won't, we are thinking that we can downsize a little and find something that will get better gas mileage. We haven't figured out what we want yet---we still want something that can transport bigger loads for Megan's bike, etc., but don't need something as big as a fullsize SUV. So we will see how that goes.

So it will be quite a busy week!!!!! Next week is also Megan's first ballet class, and Tom is so excited that he will actually be off to go with me to watch the first one! We can't wait!!!!

We will be quickly rolling into September---our busiest month of the year!!! Megan will be starting back to school after Labor Day---and this year she will go 3 days a week!!! School coupled with her ballet classes on Thurday and occupational therapy on Tuesdays, makes her week booked solid!!! We will also be restarting our local library story time gatherings that she enjoys in September. I am hoping to really begin working on my writing once she goes back to school---I am very nervous and excited about this---wish me luck!!!

September is also our busy month for birthdays----mine is the 4th, our aunt's is the 14th, Kristi's is the 18th, and Megan's is the 29th!!!! So we will also have to juggle in some family time to celebrate---especially Miss Megan!!! SHE IS GOING TO BE FIVE!!! I just can't believe it!!! My how time has flown by!!! We also have the bi-annual NICU reunion picnic for Megan that we always love going to---we still run into nurses and doctors that took care of her---they love seeing how they grow and turn out!!! A great day for our family!!!

We are also all in the midst of helping Kristi launch her new business--Nutiques furniture renovations and home decorating!!! This past week she had her first show/sale in an artisan area of the World's Longest Yard Sale---and SHE DID GREAT!!! She sold out of all the furniture and decor that she had made for the show---and got so many contacts and future jobs lined up---we were all so proud and happy for her!!! September is full of weekly shows/sales, so we are all chipping in to help her get ready and get her business off and running!!! It is so fun and exciting!

So that is just a little about what is going on with us!! More coming soon!!! Have a great day gang!!

I don't know how I missed your update on Monday! Your time at CP has made me even more excited for our breakfast reservation there! Woo Hoo!!

I can't wait to see your photopass pics. :thumbsup2

My BFF swears by the Children's Museum in Indy. I think Megan would love it. I'd love to see some of Kristi's work, if you have photos. Good luck to her and her new business adventure. Good to hear that her first show went great. Getting her name out there is sometimes the best thing. Looking forward to reading more.

sounds like you have a very busy summer left! So lucky Megs doesn't have to start school until after labor day, (that is the way it SHOULD be) I hate that my kids already went back, when there is so much summer left!

It was wonderful joining your family for this awesome TR! Thanks for ALL your HELP along the way also! it was great meeting you at Dumbo! Don't be a stranger.... Good luck with your writing etc when that time comes.
Annette

Another big fan of the Indianapolis Children's museum. My girls both love it. We have taken Hannah and Emily three times... each time they love it more! Enjoy what is left of summer...

I'm too sad its over....:sad1: I have really enjoyed your trip report and getting to "know" your cute family. You have some amazing parents!!! I am looking forward to the next TR for sure. Enjoy the rest of your summer and I hope Megan enjoys her time in Kindergarten.:cheer2:

Sigh. My heart is heavy that your trip is over, Jen.

I am trying to look on the bright side! Great pics and video from CP -- breakfast there for us for sure next time. The last time we ate there was 2004 so I think we are overdue for a return visit.

Fun last rides! :thumbsup2

I am still sad that it is over.

Hurray for North Carolina in June, and a Disney trip later in the summer!

I am still sad.

Looking forward to the Photopass and souvenir pics.

Do I have to say it, Jen?

Still a little sad here. ;)

I have thoroughly enjoyed your TR!
