Oh I do love a good pin code!

Update on the Pin Code situation:

Okay, I did receive a legitimate pin code for a special discount, but unlike the traditional 40% off code off any hotel, this is limited to SSR and OKW---$189/night for value season and $199/night for regular season. Good discounts, but we have always been able to get better rates renting points. So that led me in to looking into renting some points during those times, and we could get some pretty low rates. Here's my dilemma, we could stay cheap, but would have to purchase tickets AGAIN---all out of all our passes from the last two trips. I SO wish there was a way to credit all the money spent on tickets in the past year towards an AP!!! I am still going to run everything by Tom---who was pretty open to the idea last night---but I have a feeling adding that all in together is going to make him say---nevermind! We were hoping that it would have been a 40% off code available at other hotels---that would have made a stay at CSR RIDICULOUSLY affordable. He would have JUMPED on that in a heartbeat! OH WHAT TO DO WHAT TO DO!!!!

That's odd that they'd send you a code only good for 2 resorts. :confused3 I hope you can convince Tom to go again on renting points! :thumbsup2

Oh, I will keep my fingers crossed and send lots of pixie dust your way that you are able to convince Tom that going again soon would be a good idea!

ME TOO!!! ME TOO!!! ME TOO!!!! I was SO hoping that the code would work for others--we would have probably used it to go back to CSR---one of our favorites!!! Oh well, still working on it!

Oh, I will keep my fingers crossed and send lots of pixie dust your way that you are able to convince Tom that going again soon would be a good idea!

Thanks so much!!! I mean, c'mon, he has 4 MORE WEEKS OF VACA HE HAS TO TAKE!!!! We were going to talk about it tonight, but then his mom called, and they have been on the phone since 9:30pm!!!! :rolleyes1 We were going to talk about when he was going to take all that vaca and what we were going to do--he has a HUGE job shift coming up in the next two weeks that is going to be a promotion, but we are not sure how that is going to affect his work load!!! Always change and chaos going on with his work!!! I'm sure ultimately it will be for the best, but right now, it is vague, confusing, and seems somewhat chaotic!!! AHHHHH, thus is life!!!

Loving your TR I'm on page 37 I'll be back soon!!!!!

WELCOME ABOARD!!! Thanks for joining in on the fun!!! Please come back soon!!! I'm so glad you are enjoying it!!!

Hey gang!!! I hope you all are having a great weekend---it is so RIDICULOUSLY hot here!!! I know, I know---it is August, but hey, I've got to vent at least a little bit!!! Only human!!!

I just had to share about the highlight of my day today---we went to go get Megan's first pair of ballet slippers, tap shoes, leotards, and tights today!!! For a former ballerina, it was HEAVEN!!! I cried when she came out from her bedroom with both pairs of shoes on and danced around the room for us!! A mother's delight, and a dancer's joy!!! It was WONDERFUL! I know Tom can't understand, but today was one of my favorite days EVER!!! I can't wait---she starts ballet class on August 21st, and I don't know who is more excited!!! Me or Megan!!!

Just wanted to share!!! There will be a full update on Monday--too busy to post, but hang in there---it is a good one!!! Talk soon, Jen

Hey Jenn,I totally understand your excitement about buying Megans first dance shoes and signing her up for dance lessons! Both my daughters are dancers, one in college now and one in high school. They've both have been dancing since 2 years old, starting with ballet and adding on all other types. My youngest dances on pointe now and it makes me cry whenever I watch her..lol. It has brought them and me so much joy watching them develope their skills over the years, and they've had many opportunities over the years. My oldest danced in Disney World, and this January,my youngest one will too.Megan will learn so much more then just dancing too.She will learn poise, confidence and discipline ,commitment, ect.
I know you will enjoy this first year, especially since the little ballerinas are adorable when they are Megans age.You will have to post pictures of her when she is in her first recital costume! Good luck and thanks for bringing back yet another wonderful memory for me of when my girls were younger.Lol!

I took ballet for years!!! I totally understand your excitement! Chelsea took dance when she was younger, and I was even more thrilled to buy her first pair of ballet slippers than I ever thought possible.

I hope you plan on sharing Megan Dance Stories with us! :goodvibes

DH has over 30 days... he keeps saying he wants to take them all when the baby comes... but there is no way I could stand him staying at home with us that many days.... so I totally understand about vacation day horders! Can he carry them over????

I was just reading on a DVC site somewhere that a 40% discount sent out recently was a "friends and family" type thing sponsored by DVC. Maybe you got one because you had rented points before? It would make sense from a marketing perspective that they would want to get you back to a DVC resort, pull on those heartstrings, and make you want to buy, bUY, BUY!!! Gotta love smart marketing! :thumbsup2

Oh--this was such a sweet post!!! Thanks for sharing with me too!! I am glad that my experience could bring back such sweet memories for you!!! I can't wait---don't worry there will be pictures and stories to share!!!

I swear I was all emotional while we were at the Dance House buying her shoes!!! I am glad someone else can understand the excitement and joy!!! Don't worry---there will be pics and stories to share for sure!!

Isn't it frustrating!!! He had 5 weeks before our trip, and now is down to 4 more weeks!!! They used to be able to carry them over, but are now going to make them use most of them--they might only be able to carry over a few days! It is so frustrating too because he can NEVER use them the first work week of each month due to their close process. He probably can't use them at all in October due to quarter close, and since he is in Senior management, he can't go at all at the same time the other Assistant Controller goes because there needs to be one of them there at all times. That man just so happens to have 4 more weeks that he has to use too!!!! So much fun trying to figure out when at all they can go!!!! :scared1: I don't blame you about not wanting him home the entire time either!!! Good luck with that!!! Oh, it is getting so close for you!!!! I'm excited for you!!!!

You are probably correct! Oh I how I wish it was for all of them, but alas, it is not!! OH WELL!!!

Hey gang---the update is on the way---hold tight!!! I needed to upload a couple more pics and video before I posted it!!! Stay tuned!!! Jen

Knowing how badly we wanted to be at rope drop this morning, Tom and I got up at our usual early time--around 7am--to see this sweet Sleeping Beauty next to us..........

372-1.jpg

We got her up, ran through our usual morning routine, and quickly headed out the door and down to the bus stop by 8am. Everyone else was opting out of arriving at MK at rope drop, so it was just the three of us! And there at the bus stop we waited.........and waited........and waited........you get the picture!!! :rolleyes1 It was FOREVER before a Magic Kingdom bus finally pulled in---I didn't write down the time, but let's just say that we saw buses for every other park at least 2-3 times in some cases, before we EVER saw ours. Don't know what the deal was with that!!! So by the time we got on the bus, we knew that it would be cutting it close to see the opening show. When we finally reached the MK, we made a mad dash to the gates, and did get to see the end, but SO wish we could have seen it all!!! Can't believe it took us that long to wait for the bus! ANYWAY, as we were surging through the crowds, I did see Tim (timandlesley) and his DD Lauren running for a stroller, but did not stop to say "hey" because we were all in that mad dash mode!!! So Tom, Megs, and I headed on back to the back--Fantasyland!!!

First stop----Dumbo!!! We weren't the first ones on, but did make it on the second round!!! Here's Megs and I.....

376.jpg

Here's Tom's attempt at taking a picture of us in the Dumbos...........Yeah, not sure what he is taking a picture of either!!!!

375.jpg

I thought you all might get a kick out of that one!!! Sorry---this is why I don't let him have the camera too often!!!

He ran and got some FP for PP while we were riding, and then once we departed, it was on to Snow White's Adventures---per Miss Megan!

377.jpg

Do you think she was excited to go on this one or what?!??!?!?!

379.jpg

This is Megan waving her hands around excitedly as we are about to board!!!

378.jpg

Then it was on to the Carousel!!! Another happy face from little bit!

380.jpg

We were having such a good time--we were literally just walking on to everything at this point!! To continue our walk on streak, we headed into IASW!!! That is one of our family favorites!!!

373.jpg

Once we done with IASW, it was time to use our PP FP my beloved had secured for us, so on we went!!! She loves finding all the Tinkerbells of course!!! We love this ride---even though it is so short!

Once we finished with PP, we headed right into Mickey's Philharmagic--walked right in, and only had to wait about 3 minutes before our doors opened up for us. I love watching Megan during this show--she has seen it PLENTY of times, but still gets so excited everytime Mermaid and Tinkerbell get so close---by far her favorite parts!!!

Then we ambled over towards Pooh---where Tom got FP for Pooh, and of course surprise FP for Philharmagic. Then while we waited for our time to come available, Megan and I took on the tea cups!!!

381.jpg

382.jpg

383.jpg

Once we were spun silly, we realized it was already time for our Pooh FP, so we hopped on at once!! After frolicking with those pals on their blustery day, our gang decided that it would be a good time to stop for lunch---a little earlier than most would stop to avoid the crowds!!! For some particular reason, Tom really wanted to eat at Pinocchio's on this day, but I can't for the life of me remember what it was........so on to the Villagehaus we went. The A/C was MARVELOUS!!!!

387.jpg

Not the best place to eat lunch, but none of us cared that much!!! We were just enjoying being together just the three of us--reminded us so much of our first trip in Sept. '06!!!

Tom had been working on a special surprise for Megan, so we started to devise our plans about spliting up after lunch----he was going to go through TL to stop for FP for Buzz, and I was to head straight up Main Street to a special spot near Tony's to meet a very special lady. Do you all know who it was?????? :confused3

SNOW WHITE!!!!! If you remember we missed her at the Princess Dinner Tuesday night, so Tom found out exactly where and when she would be out at MK, and we planned the whole day around meeting her specifically!!! So Tom took off towards TL, we headed to the spot, and were the second ones in the line waiting for her. Tom even made it back to us before she came out, so he got to see the whole meeting take place too!!! I don't have pics---they are coming on my Photopass CD--but here is some video:

Don't worry---I will post the Photopass CD pics as soon as I get them!!! Stay tuned for those!!!

So needless to say, we had a very happy little princess!!! After we were done there, we headed up the steps to the railroad station. We rode around to the Toontown Fair stop, and got off there. Megan didn't really want to head in to either of the houses, but she did want to take in the Barnstormer. When we went to look at the wait, it was nearing 40 mins--in the blazing afternoon sun---NO WAY!!! So, I told Tom we would be better off using the GAC to get her through the line without melting down. This time he agreed, and we all went back up the exit ramp, and were put on one of the next rides. She giggled and cackled the whole way through, and we were so glad that we opted out of the 40min wait baking in the sun with a meltdown on the brink by using the GAC! Like I said, we did not want to abuse it, but we did use it when we felt it would help her out!

Once we finished that ride, we headed over towards TL, and Tom and Megan took in the Speedway---again, Tom opted to use the GAC because the line here was nearing 50 mins, and it was getting to the point of RIDICULOUS heat!!! They were apparently ushered on without too much of a wait.

So by using the GAC, we were once again able to prevent a major meltdown that would have occurred from having Megan stand packed in like a sardine in those HOT lines. I am so glad we did use it when we did this year---it was a blessing!

Posting--more below in next post!

That video of Megan with Snow White just brought tears to my eyes, and I'm not usually a crier! You could just see the joy in her face, and I loved listening to you and Tom in the background! Lots of joy there too. What a lovely family moment for all of you! Way to go Tom, ensuring your Megan would see her favorite! What a special dad!
