Mom and Dad's Dream Trip-34 Yrs in Making-Jun08 SOUVIE PICS PG 51 NEXT TRIP!!???!!!!?

I'm glad you got your computer back. I use mine for both work (school) and fun (Dising), and I know I'd be very lost without one at work and one at home.

I've become very spoiled to having so much material right at my fingertips on animal habitats or space or whatever I'm teaching without having to spend hours at the library.

As for being spoiled to having the DISboards, I don't even to 'splain that to other Disers!

That was very nice of your parents to pay for your tickets, but from another grandmother's view, know that the pleasure is truly theirs. I paid for everything for everyone on last year's family trip - rooms, tickets, food, some souvenirs, some extra spending money, everything - and as much as they appreciated getting it, I was thrilled to be at a point in my life where I could give it. My kids did without a lot, as I raised them alone from the time they were 7,4, and an infant, and it thrills me now to be able to give them things just for the heck of it. No special occasion or reason - just because I love them SOOOOO much! Seeing them having fun and relaxing on the trip, free from the stresses of work and school, was well worth every dime.

And as for your comment, I feel sure you will do the same for your sweet family in the years ahead!

Congratulations on the weight loss!

Thanks so much for your kind sentiments!! I know that my parents feel the same way you did when you took your kids on vaca. They keep telling us what a thrill it is for them, and I really do believe they mean it! Your story is amazing--what an awesome MOM!!! :flower3: Here's an early Mother's Day Wish for you!!! My parents have always been together, but we too have gone through some rocky and rough times--both emotionally and financially--and to see them come through everything and so many things going well for them, is a child's dream come true!! I can truly appreciate how difficult it must have been for you--like I said before, my bro is a single dad of 3--11, 9, & 8--and I am always amazed by how he juggles it all--career, kids, EVERYTHING ELSE that goes along with parenting!! :worship: I bow down to single parents everywhere, because you all are so amazing! That is also why I am so excited for Mike on this trip--he has worked so hard, juggled so much with the kids, and it is so awesome that he can finally take them to WDW! (Brings a tear to my eye everytime I think about it!)

Thanks also for the kudos on the weight loss!! I'm TRYING to shed those pounds!!
 for your weight loss

 for your shopping
 :cool1: for your 'puter being home. Poor guy, probably missed you, and is happy to be home!

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!! Here's to hoping that the pounds keep shedding away!

Yes, it HAS to!!! :)

Yeay, for getting your computer back, your weight loss, and your shopping!

Thanks for all the kudos on the weight loss, shopping, and for getting back our computer!!! My Mom picked it up for me on her way over here yesterday, and Megan squealed SO loudly when she walked in with it!

Glad to hear you have your computer back!
Kudo's on the weight loss. :yay: The only advice I have on the shorts is if you don't have the reciept or tags, you can try putting them on consignment at your local consignment store, you would at least get some of your money back.
 Yay, for Megan the SUPERSTAR's hard work!!! Thats great that she exceeds expectation.
I love that you planned out your outfits for each day, I'm going to try this! It has to make things so much easier in the mornings.
"WDW BOOT CAMP" :lmao: love this, so funny!!!
My hat is off to single parents, I lost my first husband when my boys were 4, 2, and 9 mo., so I know how hard it is. I was lucky to find love again and he has been wonderful with my boys...anyway your brother definitly deserves a great vacation.
Your parents sound wonderful, mabee you can do something for them like a spa day, nice dinner or a guided tour, to say thanks. Deb.

Thanks for all the congrats wishes, and I am amazed by your own experience as a single parent. Thanks for sharing:hug: , and I agree, Mike deserves this trip more than any of us!

I have decided that if the WDW Boot Camp goes well with the fam, then I am going to HAVE to find a way to begin going around to community centers/libraries/whatever to share this knowledge--and so much more--with others!! I think I have something here! Maybe I really SHOULD look into this!!! :goodvibes

Anyway, back to the planning----I have been working on our daily itineraries/wish lists, and I should be posting them soon!!! I am going to need some help from some of you June experts understanding what is reasonable to expect to accomplish, and when it is necessary to take a break, and when we can get away with no breaks------this will make more sense when I post the itinerary! This will be soon! I promise!!! I need to head to bed early tonight because tomorrow is our big March of Dimes walk in honor of Miss Megan!! YEAH!! This is a big day for us each year--always emotional. So we have an early morning--keep us in your thoughts and prayers if you can!

Have a great weekend everyone! Jen

1. WEIGHT UPDATE: So far my weight loss initiative has been doing well!! As of right now, I have lost around 12lbs.

Congratulations!!!!!!!

2. SHOPPING UPDATE: As I already mentioned, I found a really cute Snow White dress for Megs at Target a couple of days ago, and then found Snow White slippers, headband bow, and a wand on disneyoutlet.com on sale really cheap. The order arrived yesterday, so now the outfit is complete!! I will try to take some pics this weekend when she is not around and post them for all to see. Tom and I decided to give the outfit to her as a gift on her last day of school--May 6th--for doing so well this year in preschool! Some said that she would struggle all year, and she hasn't! She has done GREAT!! Her teachers can't believe how well she has done--she's a SUPERSTAR!! I think it will be a great reward for all her hard work!!

Snow White is our favorite princess here... can't wait to see it all. Smart idea to save it for the last day of school....so glad it went well.

Now I know that I have already professed to be a completely OCD planner, but I know some of you may laugh at the extent to which I have been planning lately! The other day, I planned out which outfit Megs and I would wear on each day--I know really over the top--I can't help it! (I even wrote out which ones would be packed as extras.)

I packed each days in a separate zip lock last year... for quick mornings... so I understand.

I also wrote out a list of the rides that Tom, Megan, and I would want to do at each park--except for MK. (Megan pretty much likes everything at MK, so we just try to do it all over the course of the 3-4 days we will spend there.) I was surprised at how little we would really want to do at DHS--Megan is just too scared of most of those rides--and Epcot.

I am making our ride list right now.... I think it helps make things manageable once you are there to know. DHS is the park that Hannah to this day talks about not liking...not much to do there. She only liked Beauty and the Beast and Little Mermaid. She did not ride a single ride there.

Great planning and enjoying!

I have decided that if the WDW Boot Camp goes well with the fam, then I am going to HAVE to find a way to begin going around to community centers/libraries/whatever to share this knowledge--and so much more--with others!! I think I have something here! Maybe I really SHOULD look into this!!! :goodvibes

I wan't to enlist!!!!:cool2: :teacher: I think you really could be onto something!;)

Have a safe and happy walk, my thoughts and prayers are with you! Deb.

Great planning and enjoying!

Thanks for the kudos!! Now that everything is here, I will take a pic of her Snow White stuff and post it here--it really is cute!!! I can't wait to see her in it!

Can't wait to see the itineraries!!! popcorn::

Good luck with your walk tomorrow!!! :flower3:

The itineraries are almost done---will be posting soon!! Thanks for the luck for the walk---more on this below!

As soon as I figure out how to do this I will let you know--you can be my next boot camper!!! Thanks for the wishes for the walk!!

I hope everyone is having a great, safe weekend! It has really been a nice weekend here in our area--the weather has been pretty darn perfect! YEAH! Yesterday, the three of us spent the day together:
1. We went to the library--Megan wanted to check out the newest Imagination Movers CD--she loves these guys!
2. We then went to our local Putt-Putt for 18 holes of fun! (Side note--Tom is a "former Putt Putt tournament champion" in his younger years.) So he is determined to make Megan the first "Tiger Woods" of miniature golf!! :goodvibes I have to admit, he is well on his way--she even got a hole in one on one of the hardest holes on the course! GO FIGURE!!
3. After a quick lunch, we headed over to a local park so that Megs could play a while on the playground, and later we took a nice walk on one of the walking trails.
4. We ended the evening back at home having some of my homemade tacos, and then crashing for the night--we all knew we would need to be up early today!

Today was another great day for us--our March of Dimes walk day!!! We were out of the house by 7:30, and down at Sawyer Point--a park on the river where the walk starts--by 8:15. We all had on our annual MOD gear--March for Babies/Megan shirts and bandanas--and were ready for the big walk. This year we were joined by Tom's Mom, my parents, and Mike and his kids. The weather was perfect, and the crowd gathered for the event was HUGE!! I should probably tell you that this is one of the most emotional days of the year for me--it is always a good way to remember how all the lifesaving research and medicinal treatments by the March of Dimes saved Megan and I, and it is our way of saying "thanks" by walking and raising money to continue that research. So in one sense, we are filled with an enormous wealth of gratitude for this organization. On the otherhand, it is a reminder to us of all the babies that were not as fortunate through the remembrance shirts and posters, and a reality check of how close we were to being one of those families. I always well up with tears when I see the families with the "In memory of...." shirts on because I feel so sorry that they lost their angel, so blessed that ours survived, and so guilty at the same time to have been thus blessed. Nevertheless, through all those emotions, I still bask in the glory of the day--celebrating the lives of SO many that have survived--and relish the hope that one day there will be an end to prematurity, and that every baby will make it to their full 9 months!! It was a beautiful sight to see today when my beautiful baby got up out of her stroller and started marching down the street today past the ballparks with her March of Dimes Survivor tshirt on---it was awesome!

The only bump in the road today was my camera!!! It started acting up as soon as we got there today--half the picture would take, and the other half was black. I think I need to recharge my battery--even though it said I still had 2 bars left!! I didn't get too many pics on my camera--what I have I will upload later--but my mom got a lot on her phone. Once I get those pics, I will upload those also!!

Mike and I got to talking about the trip while walking---OF COURSE---and we both have itineraries written up, so we are going to share those with one another soon, and of course we will share them with you all asap! Look forward to that!! On a funny side note, we lost my mom at one point today on the walk, and had a difficult time finding her--so we decided we were going to HAVE to implant one of those GPS chips in her for DISNEY---she might be the one "kid" we end up having to hunt down!!!:rotfl:

Okay--I am going to go work on my itinerary--will be back soon with that post!!! MIKE--go ahead and post yours if you have it ready!!!

Talk to you all again soon!!!

Jen,

What a great weekend you have had! I got all teary-eyed reading about your walk. What a wonderful thing when Megan walked to!

Too funny about your mom! Maybe you need one of those kid tracker things implanted in her sneakers for Disney :).

Can't wait to see yours and Mike's itineraries!

I also wanted to add something -- I went back to see where you were staying again and started rereading some of your other updates. Somehow the first time I read, I missed that Megan has Apraxia -- my Connor had that, too. He was very slow to talk, and we always assumed that it was because his sister did all the talking for him. Well, when he turned three and still had his own language going, we took him to be tested. He was diagnosed with Apraxia and had several years of intensive speech therapy. His speech therapists were awesome and did such an amazing job with him. I guess I just wanted to let you that we have another thing in common. :goodvibes

Our list keeps growing and growing!!! :goodvibes Thanks for sharing about Connor--btw, he is such a cutie pie! And Chelsea is growing into a lovely little princess!! I hope that he is getting along now without many problems or effects from the Speech Apraxia!!! Megan's Apraxia has impacted her motor planning and processing--she has had to do so much Occupational and Physical therapy to help her body learn the process of how to do even the most basic motor skills like walk, ascend and descend stairs, jump, etc. Because her Apraxia has affected her processing portion of her brain, she struggled to maintain and acquire these skills because it was as if she had to re-learn them with every step she took or stair she climbed. It was and still is a CONSTANT process of teaching, re-teaching, and re-teaching until the light bulb finally goes off and she somehow miraculously maintains a learned skill. Jumping has been her biggest challenge by far, but we are starting to see some progress even in that department. All of her therapists have been amazed that she has not shown ANY signs of the Apraxia affecting her speech because it almost always does when it affects other areas, but we are always vigilant to pay attention in case we start to see any regression in that area. I even catch myself trying to correct bad habits in her speech so that they don't become permanent. Many times my family gets on me because they might think the way she says something is cute and should be left alone, but I just want to make sure she doesn't learn a bad process since it is so hard for her to correct or change processes once they become ingrained in her mind. For example---she says "I be-got" alot of times instead of "I forgot" and it sounds so cute that no one wants to correct her, but I always do. I think that is the teacher in me as well!! Always wanting our students to reach their fullest potential!! Since Megan has had so many obstacles to get over and so much therapy to go through, I quit teaching for now to stay home with her and help her become the best Megan she can be. I know at some point I will go back, I just hope I haven't gotten rusty over the years off!!! I started my career teaching in middle school, so I can relate to how difficult your job is!! I have always said that age is one of the most difficult to teach--so many hormones--but at times, one of the most rewarding as well!!! I found my niche teaching in the high school level--seniors mostly, but I sometimes think I will go back to the middle school level when I do go back. We will see!!!

Wow! That was a long response--I'm so sorry for being so windy!! The English teacher in me!

Thanks for the compliments about Chelsea and Connor -- you know, I think Megan is just too, too cute, and I am in awe of all that she has overcome! I can relate to your experiences of dealing with apraxia on so many levels!!!

Connor went from being essentially non-verbal at three to speaking clearly by the time he entered kindergarten at almost six -- he has a September birthday which means he is the oldest in his class -- that actually helped him quite a bit. He went to speech three times a week, and we worked with him a lot at home.

One of my biggest worries with his Apraxia was whether he would have a difficult time learning to read (I guess that is the English teacher in me :)). Luckily, he has been on target -- he's in the second grade now.

In some ways his speech problems have had a silver lining -- he had to learn and mimic so much that I think he has an easier time learning other things. Does that make sense? It's like he is so used to training himself to learn that it helps in other areas. Not to mention he has an amazing repertoire of sound effects and voices -- he is our little parrot now :).

I have played around with the idea of teaching high school (mainly because of all the great literature I would be able to teach), but middle schoolers have my heart -- despite, or maybe because of, their crazy personalities I love them. Don't worry about being rusty -- I think teaching is like riding a bike, you never forget. Besides, with Megan, you are still being a teacher :goodvibes .

Good Happy Monday everyone!!

I have some time to myself this morning--Megan is fast asleep--so I thought I would post the few pics that I have to share from yesterday's walk, and post my thorough itinerary as it is right now. SO ENJOY!!!

Like I said yesterday, my camera was acting very funny yesterday--I think the battery was running low, so please excuse the poor quality and the lack of good pics--I am still waiting to get the pics from my mom's camera phone--I started taking pics with that when mine started spazzing out on me, so she has all the good ones! I will post those later!!!
Here is a horrible shot of us starting the walk--I say horrible because all you can really see is the back of Tom---Megs is down in the stroller---and you can't even see the great MOD banner and bandana we used to decorate the stroller. It was hard to get a good one to take, so I just kept clicking, and wouldn't you know it that the one that took, doesn't really show you ANYTHING!!! UGH! Sorry it is crooked--I kept rotating it in photobucket, but it still shows up like this when I paste it--frustrating!Okay--just edited today 04/29 because now the picture is the right way!!! GO FIGURE!

010.jpg

Here is a semi-decent (a little dark) picture of Mike's kids at lunch after the walk. We went over to the Newport, KY side of the river and ate at this great restaurant on the river called Buckhead Grille----great food in case you are ever in the area, and a beautiful view of downtown Cincy!
013.jpg

Here is the best shot I got all day--Maddie and Josh at lunch!! How SWEET!! The green bandana in her hair is one of our family team bandanas for Megs--we all wore one!! The boys tied theirs on like pirates--they looked so handsome!!! The kids really enjoyed doing the walk--Josh told my mom that he was going to take in his bandana and goody bag from the walk today to school to share his experience with his class--isn't that sweet!! They really do love their cousin Megan--and she loves them all SO much!!! I wish I could have had a picture of all four of them after they ate lunch--they were all sitting at the end of the big corner booth we were in, and they all sunk into food comas!!! They all about fell asleep waiting for us all to finish eating--it was so cute! Mike and I said that was foreshadowing of the way they would all look after dinner each night down at WDW!

012.jpg

This is the only "good" pic of Megs I got on my camera. I think she was feeling the sleepy bug creeping up, so she decided to be goofy so she wouldn't POSSIBLY fall asleep!!

011.jpg

I will post the other pics from mom's camera as soon as I get them. They are MUCH better!

ON TO THE ITINERARY!!!!!!!!! Just remember, all info is subject to change--this is a representation of my ideas/thoughts/plans, but I have not had any chance to confer with Mike on these arrangements--so MUCH will probably change once he has added his input. (Sidenote: I know that some of the times are not 100% accurate because I will not have the accurate times from Steve Soares' site until closer to the trip, but I made do with what is currently posted.)

Okay, so we start out the itinerary with a small dilemma. Since we are not sure EXACTLY what time we will be getting in, most things are just hypothetical scenarios. Once we get checked in, most of us were originally thinking about just hanging out around the resort--swimming and such, and possibly heading over to DTD for a little browsing. Our ADR is for Turf Club at SSR at 7pm--so we are just a boat ride away from either OKW or DTD no matter what. Now that Kristi is coming, she really wants to head over to MK that first night since it is open until 2am. Of course that is a possibility, but I don't know if it is a wise move--it would use up the ticket we planned on using for the last Saturday, and it would mean hitting MK on a Saturday EMH night--would it be crazy crowded? (I think the Gay Days crowd is also scheduled to be at MK that night, so would that mean an even bigger crowd at MK than expected?) We have already purchased our 7 day tickets, so is it possible to add on a day once there, and if so, is it ridiculously expensive to do that? I am still leaning towards swimming and shopping, but I would love the input/advice anyone could provide in regards to these plans------THANKS!!!

Okay--onward!!

Sunday June 8: Disney Hollywood Studios

Again, we are hitting the HS today for the Star Wars weekend events, but I am not sure how to fit those in my intended itinerary since I don't know what all to expect for the Star Wars added events. Please help those who have been there before!
  • DHS opens at 9am--and we will definitely be there at rope drop to catch the Star Wars related pre-show I have heard so much about.
  • After the rope drop, I plan on heading back to Mickey Avenue to catch "Toy Story Mania." Hopefully we will be able to avoid much of a wait!!!
  • If possible, hit the Voyage of Little Mermaid at 9:20 or second show 9:38?
  • Then try to hit 10:30 Playhouse Disney show--kids can get autographs while waiting for show. (If we have some time to wait, a runner--me--can run over with everyone's tickets and get FP for both ToT and RnRR--split tickets 5 FP for each ride.)
  • After show, visit Great Movie Ride
  • Good time to have lunch--recommend either ABC Commissary or Backlot Express
  • May need to split for a bit--Boys' to 1:30 Jedi Training/Megan to Woody 'N Buzz meet 'n greet @ 1:25pm.
  • Do Muppets 3D
  • Do Star Tours (time permitting)
  • Catch Pixar Parade at 3pm
  • After this, might be a good idea for those who want to do RnRR and ToT to go back to use FP. (get Parent Swap passes too!)
  • Also try to catch HSM2 Show at 4:35pm.
  • Dinner at Sci Fi diner @ 5:20pm.
Now I know this schedule is probably WAY too ambitious for traveling in June, but since I haven't been there in June, I don't know what to expect. It is hard trying to make this also not knowing how to shuffle in what Mike and the kids want to do/not do, what Star Wars events will interfere, and how to hit things like ToT and RnRR that not every one wants to do. Okay, now that I think about it, I think this is TOTALLY unrealistic--I guess hashing it out in black and white helps point out the flaws. I originally thought that I would want to do a break in the middle of the day, but now I am thinking--since this is our only DHS day and Megs doesn't want to do Fantasmic--we might tour as much as possible during the day, and at least the three of us can leave early to go back and chill out and swim--is this wise though?!?! This day, is our toughest I think, because there are so many things that require a chunk of time that we want to do-----HELP!!! I feel like my OCD planning skills are failing me here--it's beginning to unravel!! Before I go on with DHS days, I think I need some advice--those who have been in June before, can you weigh in on these plans---MIKE--can you weigh in on what you want to do?!?!?

Monday, June 9: Magic Kingdom

Okay, as I have said before, I am not going to hash out too much for MK days, because Megan loves pretty much everything here, and we will probably be here at least 3-4 days during the trip--we should have plenty of time to catch it all and then some. So, we will just move around the world I guess based more on what the kids & Mike really want to take in--SO MIKE INPUT AWAY!! The only guidelines that I have for this day are the following:
  • We need to do lunch around 11:15, and I think the best bet for today would be Pinocchio's due to its' proximity to the castle.
  • The girls have their BBB at 12:40 (need to be dressed and ready and there by 12:25). We are doing the Crown package for each of them--Megan says she is wearing her Tinkerbell costume, and I believe Maddie wants to get a Belle costume for this before we go.
  • The next thing we NEED to hit is dinner at Kona at 5:00--YEAH THE MONORAIL!!!
  • Tonight we HAVE to hit Spectromagic at 9pm--the only night at MK that it is showing---and WISHES!!!
  • The park closes at 11pm, and I do see us spending the whole day here without a break because of how much Megs loves it here. If she needs a rest--away to TTA for a quiet ride!
Tuesday, June 10: EPCOT

Epcot will be a definite break day today for us--I see us breaking back to our hotel sometime around 2-3pm for swim/nap/get changed for dinner.
  • We will be at the 9am rope drop, and I hope to do Spaceship Earth right away--is the line really too long in the AM? Should we do this later in the day?
  • Normally we head into the Living Seas first, but I was thinking we could still do this, but we would need to send one runner over to The Land to get a FP for Soarin'. We would do the Nemo ride and Turtle Talk with Crush while in the aquarium.
  • After we were done with the SEAS, it might be a good time to head to the LAND--either do Soarin' first if FP are ready, or do the LAND ride first--whatever we need to do to use FP appropriately. I think Sunshine Seasons would also be a good place to have lunch, so we could fit that in appropriately as well.
  • After the LAND, head over to the Imagination Pavilion to catch the ride--Megan won't want to do HIStA--gets scared.
  • We will also want to hit Test Track before we break if possible, and I don't mind doing Mission SPACE with those who might want to--Tom will want to bow out on that!!!
  • Megs can't handle the dinosaurs at ENERGY, but I think the boys might like it MIKE--FYI. So really after Test Track, we could easily be done with FW--from Megs' perspective. We might try to hit the character meet 'n greet near Innoventions at some point, but that will only depend on the lines.
  • Once we are "done" with FW, Tom, Megs, and I will probably head back for a break.
  • We will probably come back around 5-6ish so that we can take in Mexico and Norway before our dinner at Akershus at 7:55--Megan will be decked out in her Snow White attire!!
  • After dinner, we will enjoy walking around Epcot until close!!!
Wednesday, June 11: Magic Kingdom

Again, no real set agenda--I am hoping to take another mid-day break around 2pm--we'll see how well that works! I would like to come back to the park for our dinner ADR at Tony's at 5:35pm. And then stay at the park until closing around 11pm.

Thursday, June 12: Animal Kingdom

Obviously hit the park at rope drop, and GO GO GO!! When we did this park last year, I felt like we were constantly zig zagging--for no real reason! We went all the way back to the safaris in the AM, and then went willy-nilly from there! Here are the things we want to hit:
  • Kilimanjaro safaris
  • Kali River Rapids
  • Dinosaur ride
  • Nemo Musical
  • Expedition Everest
  • Festival of the Lion King
We have a zoo membership, so I don't feel like we HAVE to really do the trails or the jungle trek, but obviously will take them in if time allows. For those of you who have been in June before, would it be better to go all the way to the back and work up to the front or vice versa?!?!? We obviously will probably getting FP for EE, what else is necessary for FP, and what do you think we could probably handle the wait in the Standby line?!?!?!

We will be leaving the park around 5ish to go to AKL for dinner at Boma at 6:20pm--we will be exploring the lobby and animal watching until dinner time! We will then go back to hotel after dinner, and go for some late night swimming!!! YEAH!!!

Friday, June 13: OPEN day

Mike and I originally chose this as our "open" day--I think he might take his kids to a water park--Tom and I will undoubtedly be going back to MK with Megan.

Mike has mentioned before that he has something "special" planned for this day for everyone--but no one knows what it is, so I hope if he is still planning on something, everyone's different plans don't interrupt the surprise. HEY BIG BRO--can you give me a hint?!?!?! :cutie:

We do have a dinner at Ohana planned at 6:50pm that night--YEAH!!!

Maybe we can catch the Electric Water pageant this night?!?!!

Saturday, June 14: Magic Kingdom

We have to check out today--boo!!! BUT, Tom and I have already decided that we will probably go back to MK for at least part of this day before heading home. I am not sure how long we will stay--maybe until dinner time, but I am sure we will try to catch as many of Megs' favorites before we go! Then, we will start the trek back home!!! :sad1:

Okay everyone, it is very sketchy--I need some help/advice/input--especially from my June experts. MIKE, I need your input on what you have planned/or would like to do!! Remember--Megs has already been there, I really want to make sure we hit all the things you all want to do.

Okay---I need to hop off here for awhile--but I look forward to everyone's input and responses!! TIA! JEN

What nice weather for the walk! Enjoyed the pictures... better to have camera issues at this than at WDW!

First are you a TGM person- can't remember.. too lazy to go back and read.
I have lots of questions.... input....

As for Saturday - it is not EMH at MK. We are actually there that day and you made me double check nervous...
Also if you add a day to your ticket it only costs a few dollars... You could wait too until you are sure you will need to add it. I think you can add it at the park or maybe even at the resort.... not sure about the actual adding of day, just know it can be done and costs little.

Okay--onward!!

DHS: Here are my two cents:

I would head to Toy Story Mania too. I know our last trip we went first to the characters under the hat... then Playhouse Disney then Little Mermaid and then Beauty and the Beast... hitting the first Playhouse and first Beauty and the Beast.

Are you planning to see Beauty and the Beast- Hannah really liked it... go early or late, it is hot to sit in the theater.

We left after the parade... and were done for the day.

Also I highly recommend the Backlot Express: Just make sure you go before an Indiana Jones lets out... the herd was just a few minutes behind us and the lines got larger then. We enjoyed our counter service... in the AC and good food.

EPCOT: here is my input here too! We had a great long day 12 hours there... but all really loved it.

For Rope Drop you actually go way past Space Ship Earth..... so I would recommend hitting the ride later... we actually were up by the fountains right next to the Character Connection. We hit that first and DH ran to the Land for FPs. Then we were off to Living Seas... did Nemo many many times... not walking back through the que though.

Keep in mind the Land and the Living Seas are open until the park closes... we hit Turtle Talk in evening and had no wait.

Also we so enjoyed touring the countries early afternoon. We saw tons of characters: Alice, Belle, Beast, Mary Poppins, Snow White with no wait. the Kidcot things were tons of fun too! We went to the Mexico boat ride early.... say around noon for ride after empty boat ride.

Wednesday, June 11: Magic Kingdom[/B]Hope to see you there!

Thursday, June 12: Animal Kingdom

We really struggled here... it is awfully hot.... we sent DH to FP EE and we headed to Safari.... waited in the line. We then FPs it, headed to Lion King...EE... River Rapids and then were wiped out. We did not make it too late here, it was hot hot hot! I think the list you have of stuff to do is reasonable, but you might want to find some time for Air conditioning! The train to conservation station would at least take you to an air conditioned place if you want to give it a try.

All in all looks wonderful! Lots of MK time, which I think is awesome! It will be here before you know it!

What nice weather for the walk! Enjoyed the pictures... better to have camera issues at this than at WDW!

The weather was GREAT!!! I said the same thing about the camera--MUST fix before we go!!!

First are you a TGM person- can't remember.. too lazy to go back and read.

I have not subscribed to TGM--would that help?!?!?
I have lots of questions.... input....
Thank YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU

Did the timings on all those seem to flow well? Did you have to worry about lines? We also did the characters under the hat first last year, but I am going to try to get Megs to go to the rides/shows first before we get too busy with the Meet 'n Greets.

Are you planning to see Beauty and the Beast- Hannah really liked it... go early or late, it is hot to sit in the theater.

We did B&B last year--loved the show, but Megs told me then and just the other day again that the Beast scared her. She didn't seem to interested in seeing it again. BUT, I do want to make sure Maddie sees it if it is something she wants to do--this might be another area/time we split up especially if Megs is persistent on NOT seeing it--I think I am going to have to defer to Mike on this call.

We left after the parade... and were done for the day.

I think if we hit all the biggies during the morning, we could easily leave after our dinner--5:20pm and Megan would be okay. She will NOT want to do Indiana Jones, Sounds Dangerous, Backlot Tour, Stunt Show, Fantasmic, ToT, or RnRR. She doesn't like Great Movie Ride, but for some reason Tom usually insists she ride this one--maybe he will feel differently this year. Tom can't do ToT or RnRR due to motion sickness, but I would like to use FP to ride with Kristi, Mike, and any other brave soul on those two.

Also I highly recommend the Backlot Express: Just make sure you go before an Indiana Jones lets out... the herd was just a few minutes behind us and the lines got larger then. We enjoyed our counter service... in the AC and good food.

I was definitely leaning towards the Express--the food looks good!

EPCOT: here is my input here too! We had a great long day 12 hours there... but all really loved it.

For Rope Drop you actually go way past Space Ship Earth..... so I would recommend hitting the ride later... we actually were up by the fountains right next to the Character Connection. Good to know--I would never have thought they would take you all the way up there--we missed rope drop here in Nov. due to a slow bus!! I remember from you TR that you had little to no wait there for the characters--might be a good way to start off the morning! I think the kids might enjoy that, and one of us can run over to the Land for Soarin' FP for everyone!!! GREAT IDEA!!! We could hit Spaceship Earth on our way back to the other side of FW after doing the Seas and the Land.

We hit that first and DH ran to the Land for FPs. Then we were off to Living Seas... did Nemo many many times... not walking back through the que though. Did they just let you stay in the clammobile? Cool!

Good to know!! I will definitely keep that in mind to see before we break!
Wednesday, June 11: Magic Kingdom[/b]Hope to see you there!
Ditto!

Okay, sounds good--I think somehow AK is at least 10-15 degrees hotter than anywhere else! We will see how this day goes! We spent way too much time in Camp Minnie Mickey last year--it was all decked out for Xmas--but I think we will save that for the very END! If we hit it at all!
All in all looks wonderful! Lots of MK time, which I think is awesome! It will be here before you know it!

I can't believe how quickly the month of April went!!! Just think, on Thursday, we get to say---I'm going to Disney World next month! YEAH!

We have already purchased our 7 day tickets, so is it possible to add on a day once there, and if so, is it ridiculously expensive to do that?

You can add on once you are there and it is not much to do it at all!

Again, we are hitting the HS today for the Star Wars weekend events, but I am not sure how to fit those in my intended itinerary since I don't know what all to expect for the Star Wars added events. Please help those who have been there before!

We are doing it for the first time also so not sure what is the best plan of attack -- I think as it gets closer, we will start seeing schedules posted on the DIS boards.

[*]DHS opens at 9am--and we will definitely be there at rope drop to catch the Star Wars related pre-show I have heard so much about.
[*]After the rope drop, I plan on heading back to Mickey Avenue to catch "Toy Story Mania." Hopefully we will be able to avoid much of a wait!!!
[*]If possible, hit the Voyage of Little Mermaid at 9:20 or second show 9:38?
[*]Then try to hit 10:30 Playhouse Disney show--kids can get autographs while waiting for show. (If we have some time to wait, a runner--me--can run over with everyone's tickets and get FP for both ToT and RnRR--split tickets 5 FP for each ride.)
[*]After show, visit Great Movie Ride
[*]Good time to have lunch--recommend either ABC Commissary or Backlot Express
[*]May need to split for a bit--Boys' to 1:30 Jedi Training/Megan to Woody 'N Buzz meet 'n greet @ 1:25pm.
[*]Do Muppets 3D
[*]Do Star Tours (time permitting)
[*]Catch Pixar Parade at 3pm
[*]After this, might be a good idea for those who want to do RnRR and ToT to go back to use FP. (get Parent Swap passes too!)
[*]Also try to catch HSM2 Show at 4:35pm.
[*]Dinner at Sci Fi diner @ 5:20pm.[/LIST]Now I know this schedule is probably WAY too ambitious for traveling in June, but since I haven't been there in June, I don't know what to expect.

I "think" it looks doable. The important thing to remember is to maximize those FastPass rides as much as possible. If you are there early, you can also get a lot of rides done before the crowds and heat become unbearable.

Really? Are you sure that the only night for Spectro is Monday???

Can't wait to see pics of Megan in her Snow White attire!

Again, no real set agenda--I am hoping to take another mid-day break around 2pm--we'll see how well that works! I would like to come back to the park for our dinner ADR at Tony's at 5:35pm. And then stay at the park until closing around 11pm.

Just take it easy and go with the flow!

Fast pass the safari if possible. Has Megan done Dinosaur before?

We will be leaving the park around 5ish to go to AKL for dinner at Boma at 6:20pm--we will be exploring the lobby and animal watching until dinner time! We will then go back to hotel after dinner, and go for some late night swimming!!! YEAH!!!

We'll be there too!

Friday, June 13: OPEN day

Mike and I originally chose this as our "open" day--I think he might take his kids to a water park--Tom and I will undoubtedly be going back to MK with Megan.

Just for the record, we loved Typhoon Lagoon!

Like I said before, get to the parks early and use those Fast Passes. Breaks midday are good when it gets hot, go back to the resort for naps and swimming, then head back in the evenings for dinner, parades, and fireworks.

Your photos from the walk were great!

You can add on once you are there and it is not much to do it at all!

Thank you for the info--it is GOOD to know!! I'm guessing I can either add on at the hotel or the Guest Relations area in the park? Correct me if I am wrong!

We are doing it for the first time also so not sure what is the best plan of attack -- I think as it gets closer, we will start seeing schedules posted on the DIS boards.

Good to know--when I see stuff posted, I will let you know--that goes the same for ANYONE else who might see something---let me know!! TIA

I "think" it looks doable. The important thing to remember is to maximize those FastPass rides as much as possible. If you are there early, you can also get a lot of rides done before the crowds and heat become unbearable.

The great thing about the FP is that we will have 10 ticketholders, but I know that we will not have 10 people wanting to do all the big FP rides like ToT and RnRR, so we will be able to split the stash and get FP for those rides at the same time since they are so close to each other--YEAH!!! Wouldn't it be wonderful if Disney would just set up FP stations around the park so you could go and get your FP for any FP ride at one hub--it would eliminate all the running and back-tracking--"To Dream the Impossible Dream!!!" That would probably make the theme park experience a little too easy!

Really? Are you sure that the only night for Spectro is Monday???

What I meant by that is that that is the only night---according to Steve Soares' site---that they will have Spectro going on while we are at MK. We are doing MK on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday until dinner. I guess they are not showing Spectro on Wed or Fri.

Can't wait to see pics of Megan in her Snow White attire!

I know---me either!!! It has been very hard NOT giving her the dress yet, but this time next week she will have it!! We are going to let her open it next Tuesday morning--the day of her last school day for the year. I can't believe it is already over--went too fast!

Just take it easy and go with the flow!

I have no problem doing that-----Tom on the otherhand is the Park Commando. He is sometimes reserved and laid back about the trip UNTIL he gets there! Then he is always ready to go, go, GO! I think he will be the one struggling with the adjustment of stopping to take a hotel break. He won't want to leave!

Fast pass the safari if possible. Has Megan done Dinosaur before?

Sounds good! Megs has never done Dinosaur, and probably won't until she is MUCH older--the concept and pictures of it scare her to DEATH!! We WON'T be subjecting her to that one anytime soon. Since that is the one ride last year that Tom really wanted to do, and we couldn't because we had to leave, I promised him that we would make sure he rode it at all cost. My mom has volunteered to go play with Megs and Maddie at the Boneyard while those of us who want to ride it go through the ride.

We'll be there too!

I am so looking forward to that meal! I can't wait to try some of their interesting food! Zebra DOMES!!!!

Just for the record, we loved Typhoon Lagoon!

I think that is the water park Mike was looking at going to--better for his kids' ages.

Like I said before, get to the parks early and use those Fast Passes. Breaks midday are good when it gets hot, go back to the resort for naps and swimming, then head back in the evenings for dinner, parades, and fireworks.

Sounds good!!! I keep thinking I am going to screw something up because we haven't had to use FP either year we have gone, and I feel like a "FP virgin." I know there are so many of you out there that have using FP and Parent Swap passes down to a science. I humbly bow to your expertise! :worship:
Your photos from the walk were great!

You are kind! The ones from my mom's phone are much better--I can't wait to get those!!!

Either Guest Relations or the hotel can upgrade tickets.

I wondered about Megan and Dinosaur -- it's pretty intense even for us. We love to ride it though.

Don't worry about figuring out the Fast Passes -- they are super easy to figure out, and there is usually a CM around to help.
