Day 3
Back to MGM!
Breakfast: Hollywood & Vine
Lunch: snacky food I think oh my failing memory!
Dinner: Liberty Tree tavern
Back to Magic Kingdom
Up and at em and back to MGM. We head for Hollywood & Vine again. Their breakfast buffet is as good as their lunch buffet. Waffles, French toast, bacon, etc. The characters (especially Chip & Dale) are busier today as the parks and the restaurant are more crowded. Its Saturday, so thats no surprise.
We head off to Muppet Vision 3D which I love. The Muppets are great I love the Swedish Chef and Statler and Waldorf. This is one of my must sees every trip! After that we checked out the Backlot Tour. We were slower moving today and the crowds kept us from getting from ride to ride as easily. That being said the crowds were still very low for this time of year!
We head off to the Magic Kingdom. 3 PM was the Share a Dream Come True Snow Globe Parade that we NEEDED to see. The Magic Kingdom was more crowded than MGM. We shopped up and down Main Street while waiting for the parade. Its a wonderful new parade. Dont miss it! If you can get a seat under the Christmas tree, facing the castle, I highly recommend it. You may have to camp out for an hour or so before the parade. But the Mickey float stops there and you could get some great photos with the castle in the background.
Food again? Are you seeing a pattern here? We head over to Liberty Tree Tavern and are seated w/in 5 minutes. This is a family style meal (good, we can sit for a while buffets are nice, but getting up to get food when your feet hurt is not) You get honey mustard ham, roast turkey, flank steak, carrots, homemade mashed potatoes, Mac and cheese, and the best stuffing Ive ever had. Characters are Minnie, Goofy, Pluto!, Chip & Dale in their colonial garb.
What now do we want to fight the crowds to see Spectro Magic (which weve seen in the past) and the fireworks? Nah. We skip the parade and head over to the Contemporary. Up to the 15th Floor. The California Grill restaurant is up there. AND there are 2 walkways that overlook the Magic Kingdom and provide incredible views of the castle and the fireworks. That was the place to be!
Another side note on our way to the walkway, I got to see one of the private rooms up there that had been suggested as a reception site. (The Napa Room) And it was ok. Very plain and well just plain. Nothing special about it. Im so glad were going with Citricos!
Back to the Caribbean Beach. We pack up a lot of our stuff because tomorrow we check out.
Tomorrows agenda
Check out and back to MGM! (We were originally gonna do Epcot, but what can I say, we love MGM!)
And fly home
