I have severe mold allergies and wonder if anyone else noticed how the carousel of progress smells very mildewy/moldy. I had to get off the ride while we were there in Dec because it triggered my asthma.
Does anyone know of other places in disney someone with mold allergies should avoid. It would be good to know so in the future I can avoid places that can cause my asthma to flare.

Any of the water rides ( pirates, malestrom, small world) can have mold. We will be paying attention the next time we ride COP to see if the smell is still there. Thanks for the heads up.

The Ellen/dinosaur ride at the Universe of Energy (I think that's what it's called) at Epcot also gives off a musty odor. However, I think that's intentional because it happens when you are going through the swampy area, so it may just be a "fake" smell.

First floor rooms of any of the moderates/value resorts - you may not see the mold, but my mold-sensitive daughter cannot handle that level. WDW was build on a swamp, and it's always pretty damp down there.

I think there is some ‘real’ mold there, but most of the smell is added.

I;ve got a severe mold allergy and have not had any problems at WDW. Though, I do take awhile to react to concentrated exposure (usually when the overall mold count changes).

I do take medication every day to control my allergies and asthma, which may make a difference. Being that Florida is so humid its going to be hard to avoid the mold, but I haven't found the mold count to be much different then at home (since we live in river valleys and the mold count is atrocious)
