I am so hoping that I will be able to get off some of these meds after the procedure. They wear me out.

To make myself feel a bit better I have decided to start thinking about a Flower and Garden trip next Spring. Something to look forward to is always good.

Is everyone having a good Sunday? I read the papers in bed while watching my favorite news magazine program. Life is good.

I will spending my day making cookie dough and baking. I have had to up the ante to twelve dozen as I have been advised that a very large group of little ones will be clambering on my front porch Friday.

I go the CC this afternoon but will have to tell them that I will miss the next two weeks because of my eye surgeries the next two Wednesdays. Tom is quite put out at the possibilities that I might not be able to take him bowling on the following Thursdays. Can we say 'spoiled"? My bil offered to come all the way to take me to the eye surgeries but I prefer to only ask for his help when I really need it. I was touched at his offer. I am not used to kindness, from family members.

Did anyone have any trouble with the dvd's that I handed out? I checked them on my computer and my TV and they worked well.

Ang, I have not forgotten you, just swamped right now. I want to do some special things that take some time.

Wish I lived closer...I'd be happy to chauffeur you to and from your doctor's appointments and would even take DH to the bowling alley!

Diva K, I appreciate it but I am one stubborn, and independent, old lady and do not like being fussed over. I am having a hard time making the adjustment from BEING the one who does the driving and such for everyone else to NEEDING the help. My oldest grandson would be more than willing to skip school and take me. Not going to happen. He is the only immediate family member who calls me so he knows I am having the surgeries and such. My neighbors would take me but this is extremely simple surgery. I took Tom to have his done last year so I know. It is about ten miles from home also.

Tom would be more than willing to have his brother make the 100 mile round trip (out of his way) to take him bowling. I think that rude and inconsiderate myself but what do I know?

Pumpkin bread. Sounds great. Have any honey butter to go with? I make different breads to give for Christmas presents. I used to make jams and jellies also. Sometimes fudge. I think this year will be a banana nut Christmas. I buy cheap cans and baskets all year long and put together gift baskets for the friends and neighbors.

Pumpkin bread. Sounds great. Have any honey butter to go with? I make different breads to give for Christmas presents. I used to make jams and jellies also. Sometimes fudge. I think this year will be a banana nut Christmas. I buy cheap cans and baskets all year long and put together gift baskets for the friends and neighbors.

No honey butter...but I LOVE apple butter (not on pumpkin bread though) but can't find any I like since we moved to Texas!
Bought some @ the grocery (says its from Indiana!) but its not as thick as I like...
We used to pick strawberries when I was kid and DM would make jam!
I make cranberry nut bread every year to give everyone @Christmas! My DM makes fudge!

Diva K, I greatly appreciate your offer to send me some goodies but I must ask, no beg, you not too. I stay away from all homemade foods. I can resist most everything EXCEPT great homemade foods. I will be lucky to end the year a mere ten pounds lighter than I started. I know the meds are affecting me some but the trip to DW did not help much. Have been having trouble getting back on the no carb wagon. lol Wonder if the Apple Butter came from Brown County, IN? They have something called Brown County Biscuits which is really fried bread dough. The magic about this recipe is that you never run out. You make them up and no matter how many you make the dough keeps increasing. Brown County is a tourist destination to see the fall colors. I head down toward the Ohio River to see them and avoid the long lines of traffic.

Because of my blood thinners I cannot have cranberries. Hopefully the electric shocks will mean that I can get off some of these meds. Hope it does not straighten my beeUtifull curly hair.

Want me to see if I can find you a good apple butter recipe? It cannot be that difficult as I used to make it. Used to grow the apples too.

My Mom has made homemade applesauce before but never tried to make our own apple butter...

Halloween was worth all the effort. The weather was so nice that I could sit on the front porch, shoeless as is my wont. I am not exactly sure how many came, more than 300, less than 400. I had such a lovely time getting to talk to REAL people and see the kids in their costumes. Many of my Readers came by and many of the grownups who had played in my house eons ago brought their children, one or two even brought GRANDkids! My oldest grandson came by early before he went on a date and my youngest lurked here instead of going to the parties. Might have had something to do with the fact that Granny just bought a Wii. My husband never left his seat in the kitchen which made things a whole lot less scary.

Jan, it was just a simple dvd of favorite Disney things that I made up to hand out this past trip. What dates are you planning next year and I will bring you one if we are there together. I am planning Christmas for sure. Everything else is up in the air, according to how I feel.

Spent a lot of time in Lancaster County PA that has a very large Amish population.

Diva K, Lancaster County, PA is picture book perfect. I have a dear friend in DE and when we went to visit her we always went that way to see the area. Some of Tom's best eating took place there. I loved the Sight and Sound Theater with its religious productions. My mom grew up in PA. Indiana Amish Country is not quite as picturesque but it is a whole lot cheaper. You might add Bearcreek Farms, Bryant, IN to your list for your next trip. Let me know if you do and I will meet you there.

I think DS had a good idea. I have far more fun passing out treats than actually trekking from place to place. I gave out McD coupons this year and most folks seemed happy to get them.

CC kids this morning, the landfill this afternoon and computer work this evening. Tuesdays are always full up and then the van comes to take me away, ha ha, on Wednesday. I plan to lay in bed (totally unnecessary but we will not tell that to Tom who spent nearly two weeks in bed when he had his).
