well gals,

My laptop blew up last night and Mike is trying to see if we have a warranty on it or not and if not trying to see how much it is going to cost us to fix it  so no Dissing from home now!!:faint:

I got my guard yesterday from the dentist and other than my teeth feeling weird well I guess I can tell a difference lets just say this I hope It helps. OH I didn't have to pay a Dime for the guard either. Went into see the dentist and he took impressions and made the guard and got it all for FREE I just love FREEBIEESSSS!!!:faint: ::yes:: I do~

Went to see the new Jelliyfish exhibit last night at the Zoo oh my gosh it was so great the only problem I saw and many others too was that one of the tanks had a large number of those long tailed jellies and they kept getting tangeled together and I had to meet with Kathy from the Zoo about the Wedding last night so I mention this to her and she said yes that the keepers have to keep going in and manually going in and taking them apart so I asked why don't they put to seprate tanks in there is enough rooms and Kathy said they were thinking about doing just that.

So Big news got a call my Gown is in already and I have to go today and get fitted  :worship: :yay: :dance3: its in a month or so early.

How is everyone else doing this morning??? Any plans for the weekend????

No Dis from home? How will you make it through the weekend.

Somebody turned on the heat here today. I was working the concession stand at Little League for the last two hours. So, now we're going down the shore to go swimming. I've had enough of standing around in the heat for today.

I am back, I will post a link to pictures later.

Timmy: unfortunately I can not have dairy. No milk, butter, cream etc for me.

Pooh: Sorry to hear about your laptop.

I had a really great breakfast at boma this morning!

We had massive flooding here today. Our small town was an island most of the day as there was no way in or out. The bridges are gone and the dam up the road failed. We got the best of it as the town up the road where we all go to shop and work is flooded out. The hospital has been evacuated and the huge, fancy mobile home park on the edge of town has been totally destroyed.

Our basement got enough water to wash the floor and we did not lose our utilities so we are blessed. Our spare rooms might be filled so it is best we did not have a big bash THIS weekend.

I will catch up tomorrow, just wanted everyone to know we are safe and I am hoping that my local DIS friends have been spared as well as everyone else.

SG

Linda, wondering how you made out. Glad things are not worse for you, we were lucky. Basement carpet got a little damp. Keep us posted:love:

Hi Ladies
Well I was taking a nap and the phone rings its my brother yelling at me to get in the basement because of tornados. So I run downstairs and turn on the TV to find out that OMG They just spotted a tornado in the next town over.:scared1: :scared1: I am in my basement worried. It looks very scary outside. Very green looking.

You don't make a post like that at 9pm on a Saturday night and then follow it up with nothing!! Please, please let us know that you're alright!

Sorry we just power back. I did not even have a phone to call anyone my cell phone was dead and our house phone is a cordless. So today I am going to Target to get a cheap corded phone. Did not sleep much last night it was soooooooo hot in here. Looks like the tornado just missed us but you would never know by the way it looks outside. Tree limbs and lawn furniture everywhere. Someone lost most of their roof. When I saw it in the street I was praying it was not mine. I used to live in the South Suburbs and NW Indiana and my hometown got hit worse. I heard there are suppose to be more storms today.

Well of to Target to get a corded phone and groceries.

So glad to hear you are ok. Those storms were bad and they are bad here today again. We are west of you here. I am so glad your roof is still on that has to be awful to see a roof in the middle of the street. You take care.

Hey ya all!! Other than our water being out we are fully functional (no wise cracks needed :rotfl: ) round here. I figure they are working on the substation and it will be back soon. I have some folks who want a comfortable bed tonight and my daughter is headed to WM, cannot get to the local ones, to pick up water and supplies for a family that has lost everything. There are many here in such shape and most without flood insurance as this is a 100 year flood here.

crzykid, yeah what Mom2Evie done said. Never heard of smoke signals? :rotfl: I have two corded phones. A friend who just switched to the Comcast bundle says she has nothing. I thought the phone service had a battery backup or something. Guess not. I think I will wait for AT&T to bring in cable and hope for the best. I am glad the tornado did not get you and wish it had not gotten your neighbors either.

keliblue, heck we have had earthquakes, tornadoes and floods here recently and we are not prone to anything like that. An occasional flatulent cow but that is about it. Too much corn. :rolleyes1

Bonz, my basement is not carpeted so I lucked out. Will you be able to dry out fairly easily? I had just been thinking that I needed to toss my garden hose down there and wash my basement floors. One dead, someone from here and two missing in Indiana. I had thought the Northern part had been spared most. I hope you do not have much clean up and that you had an indoor outdoor carpet. My mind boggles at having to clean anything up at all right now. I could not.

Pooh, did you pay by credit card for your laptop? That gives you and extended warranty often. I could not live without a computer at home. I spent yesterday laying in bed watching Netflix. I NEVER lay in bed during the day. It was that kind of day. ::yes:: Yeah, for free stuff!! BTW do we get to see The Dress, if we promise not to show it to Mike?

cherylp3, lactose intolerant? Have you tried acidopilous pills and/or yogurt to help your digestion?
 Bananas help too.

Goodness, I just read your post SG. I need to read back a few pages and catch up. I am so sorry to hear about your and Bonz's flooding. Sending buckets of pixie dust to SG, Bonz, Crzykid. This weather is crazy. Keep us updated you will be in both my thoughts and prayers.

No - IBS issues - I have never heard of acidopilous. I don't dare to eat yogurt. (I've tried fiber pills )
The thing that has worked is removing from my diet. ( I also keep kosher at home and it helps with that as well since I can't mix milk and meat)

I used to live on immodium. With my diet changes, I don't need it.
i miss dairy but I don't miss having stomach issues.

Cheryl

Ang, we escaped unscathed which is a good thing cause I just stared Coumadin and had been warned that I might have really bad side effects in the first few days and our local hospital was evacuated and is surrounded by water even today. :scared1: There is no way to get to that town from here even today as it is all surrounded by water. I was very lucky and blessed.

cherylp3, nope yogurt and the pills will not help with IBS. The banana might though. I have friends with that and it is a literal pain. I hope you do not have it too badly. A food diary is useful in determining how to change your diet sometimes.

Yes so much fun I won't know what to do with myself.

:scared1: oh no Ms. Linda your house didn't get flooded did it???:faint: Poor people I feel so badly for them. Where will they all go?

Yes we did pay by cc but its been way passed the time (Mike checked) and he took it over to the computer store where they say they do warranty work for them and "the Geek Squad" thinks it the video card or mother board so we are going to buy both and replace them and upgrade our harddrive as well.

I will bring lots of pictures of the dress with me but I will post them when I get a good picture.

Thank Cheryl for the thoughts of my dead laptop. I hear ya on the Dairy part I can't have it either I can eat little bits and I mean little but thats it.

Pooh and all, our house did not get flooded. I barely got a dab of water in our unfinished basement, not even standing as we have a great drain. It merely washed across the dirty floor and spared me having to get out the garden hose later this year and do it myself. Our water went out yesterday and it stinks around here but other than that we are fine. My heart goes out to those who are not.

It sounds as if it would be cheaper and more prudent to buy a new laptop, checking with Consumer Reports first to make sure you get a good one. Be sure to get a good external hard drive also as if you have everything backed up computers seem to behave better. :rotfl: How did you spend all that 'computer free' time this weekend?

Cheryl and Nancy, I often get out a big hunk of swiss cheese and carve generous slices off and eat them. That is the good thing about this diet of mine. However, who would have ever thought I would get sick and tired of cheese? ;) I hate milk though.

The blind in the MBR turned out as nicely as I had hoped. You can now see the beautiful stained glass through it. I have always disliked the fact that they are not visible from the interior. Bit by bit I may be able to keep up. It is just frustrating not to be able to do it myself and have to depend on others. I am a picky broad and very independent. Not very good at asking for help. I do not intend on getting better either.
