Ants, don't cha remember that I wanted a picture of me boozing it up to show my grandkids that grandma was 'cool'?? It is a terrible picture of me but a good one of you. Putting your fellow on the back burner to do laundry? Are you crazy? The laundry will stay put until you get around to it but men are so very mobile. Shame you cannot do the dainties together.
Pooh, that was what I was afraid of. I know a lady who had been involved with a local businessman for some time and when he died, suddenly of a heart attack at a very young age, she found herself homeless, jobless and alone in mere minutes. Like the song goes "God bless the child who has his own". I have been down and out but I was younger then. I do not know if I would have the strength to pick myself up now. Might find out though.
The kids at the CC were so wonderful today. Gobs of the small folks and every single one of them wanting to be first to read. Warms the cockles of my heart, it does. One boy shared that his dad once made him drink half a whiskey and 'diet' coke. My radar says he is probably telling at least a partial truth. He is one that needs to practice his reading and is making some small progress here and there. Many of the kids are doing fine on their own and they just read a page or two and then go read on their own while I work with the ones who really need the attention. One child asked me if I was feeling better which was so sweet as none of my grandkids had asked that question. They also made me some Valentines which were the only ones I got this year. I am not so sure that I do not go over there for myself rather than for them. I am going to go shopping for some comfy beanbags for them so they can be comfortable while reading. The CC is run on a very close budget but the kids are well taken care of and taught many useful lessons in behavior and are almost like a family unit.
