Was just browsing at Target and was pleasantly surprised at how much moisture-wicking clothing they carry, at a very reasonable price.

It's Champion brand, and it's in the work-out clothing area. I got three v-neck t-shirts and two tank tops, all for $12.99 each. Lots of fun, bright colors (hot pink, green, yellow, turquoise, etc.). Some of the items were even on clearance!

Love the idea of moisture-wicking fabric - much less "sweaty" feeling than cotton shirts at WDW. Since this is clothing made for runners, it's very lightweight and comfortable.

I would imagine that they have the same type of Champion clothing in the men's section as well (but I didn't look).

(PS - they have also carried Champion moisture-wicking underwear at Target, but I think it was on clearance a couple of months ago. Worth a look to see if your Target still has it!)

Before our Disney trip last year my dbf had NO clothes. I found them at target and bought him a supply. He LOVED  them. They have much more of a selection this year. Hmmm...I didn't even think about looking in the womens section for myself. I just might have to do that. hehe. So I guess I just wanted to say that they come hightly recomended from us! :thumbsup2

The wicked little voice in my head insists that I tell you that that is a very interesting statement.

haha I get your humor...maybe I shoul proof read things before I post them huh? how about he didn't have enough clothes for a 9 trip disney trip in august! :rotfl:

I registered just to post to this thread.

I have had a pair of Champion running shorts and two of their tank tops for almost two years, using the tanktops for hundreds of miles of running in very hot Southern weather (read: regularly sweated through and regularly thrown in the washer) and dito on the same pair of shorts.

Signs of wear are minimal, at most (zero on the shorts and MAYBE some chaffing around the seams on the shirts), but absolutely no threads coming apart or anything). I was hesitant to buy these at a big box store, knowing that real brand name stuff is 3X the price (presuming it would be better), but I am going to hit up Target again today for a tight compression shirt (or just a small tanktop) and see if they have any spandex shorts, to function as a triathlon setup (much cheaper than the real stuff, and my last pair of brand name tri shorts melted through in 3 months of pool swimming).

A couple of people at some tri forums were also speaking highly of this brand. It seems Target has a hit with this lineup.

Yep, I was amazed at the variety of items offered in the moisture-wicking fabric. Shorts, pants, tanks, t-shirts - great color selection, too! Can't beat the prices. I think I ended up with four t-shirts and two tanks, all at $12.99 each. (I had previously looked at Travelsmith catalog for t-shirts, and bought one Coolmax t-shirt to try on my last trip. I didn't like the texture of the material - I was surprised at how heavy and almost stiff it was for a knit. The Champion t-shirts at Target are moisture-wicking but also a nice, thin material, very "drapey" and comfortable. I bought threet-shirts for the price of a single Travelsmith t-shirt, which I think was around $40, plus shipping, Amazing!)

Good luck shopping!

Is it the same as the C9 stuff they have online? I can't make it to target but would order online if I knew that this was the moisture wicking stuff....I managed to get some cool-fx shirts from Kohls last year for $5 for men but want a few shirts for me!

Yep, that looks like the same stuff! Make sure what you order is the clothing with "Duo Dry" - that's the moisture wicking material. They do carry other items that aren't moisture wicking. Both the v-neck t-shirts and tank tops I got were all $12.99 each - very nice lightweight material. They are the same price online. Good luck!

Excellent! Now, I can go shop online and not have to bring both kids shopping! This could be dangerous!:lmao:

Great idea! I have had wicking clothes for a few years. I used them first for running/biking then fell in love with them for many purposes and my non-athletic friends now like to borrow them.

Lots of these at REI.com, and you can finally get a few different colors and styles so they don't all look like running clothes.

These are also great in wet weather; unlike cotton they keep you warm when wet and don't get heavy. Great for water rides too... they dry quickly!

Important tips: don't use fabric softener with them; it ruins the wicking ability. Put them in the dryer (on low of course); this actually helps maintain the wicking abililty. They do snag easily. Buy the better brands. There are differences in the texture and especially the odor that develops vs the cheapos.

The dis is so killing my budget! I got some C9 duodri online and then had to go to target tonight...got more! Hoping it helps with the hot weather! We are all set...only 2 weeks to go!

Thanks for the tip about fabric softener - I would never have known that!

Regarding the expensive-versus-inexpensive question, I'll still go with the less expensive Champion shirts. For me, they'll mostly be items I wear on vacation, so I'm not looking for "investment pieces." I'd rather buy three less expensive shirts for the price of one expensive one, at least for a vacation clothing item. The nicer moisture-wicking t-shirts I found online are around $40 per shirt -- way too expensive for me. Thanks for the suggestion, though!

I had to go check it out...bought a top and sports bra in aqua (on clearance!) :thumbsup2 sweet!
