Modifying stay dates

Hello, If I want to modify my reservation by canceling just the first day, do I need to cancel the entire reservation and re-book or can I some how modify it? I'd like to do it on-line rather than calling in. What's the best way to do this? Thanks!

You can do it online- just go into modify stay and pick the new dates. You don't need to cancel- just modify.

As noted, you can just use the modify section of the DVC site. Note, that it works a little different than you may expect going in. Once into the modify section, you do not just drop off a day. You actually redo the entire reservation. For example, if dropping a 7th night from a 7 night reservation, you modify by changing to a seemingly new six night reservation for the six nights that you are keeping. Just follow along and designate the contract or contracts to make that "new" reservation and at the end, you will just have that six night reservation.

Keep in mind that if you are dropping that first day within 30 days of your reservation, the points for that night will go into holding!

That's what threw me! It seemed like I was booking another reservation. I kept going and now see how it works, thanks!

How far can you go before 8am hits? I feel like I am rusty on modifying a reservation and fear I am going to be out of luck.

I'm planning to do the same thing and drop the first day of my reservation. Being devious I plan to keep it as is to get the 60 day window to make dining reservations for my stay then drop the first day a couple days later.
