Modifying Guests on an Existing Reservation

I cannot modify the guests in MDE on my existing DVC reservation at OKW for this coming weekend. I thought I had always been able to do this in the past. It will let me do anything else to the reservation (change CC's, requests, etc.), but I cannot modify or add/delete friends.

We have a phantom account out there for my wife and the wrong one is associated with the hotel reservation. The correct one is associated with the park reservations since that's the one with the AP associated with it. It always causes us problems that we ultimately have to visit the front desk to correct, from charging privileges not working, to her not being able to open the room door. I'm just trying to avoid the hassle we have every time. For everybody.

You would think I could just change it from one wife avatar to the other one but apparently not. What if somebody couldn't go and I wanted to substitute someone else? Again, I thought I had always been able to do this in the past. Apparently not? Does it matter that the trip is only 5 days out?

It has to be modified using the DVC site. Once that is up to date, it should let you pick the correct people.

If you did that, then try to just modify and don’t change a thing. If that doesn’t work, add her as a new guest..if room. I had to do that when I was confirming guests and accidentally chose my DH for me.

So I went back in to DVC, added him to the reservation even though he isn’t going. Then went to MDE and it now let me choose me for me. Once done, I went back to DVC and took him off.

It was the only way I could do it myself without calling.

ETA: Onr other try...add her same name as a different guest and then try. I did that in January after my DDs boyfriend created his own account It let me pick both

Thanks Sandi. That makes sense. Seems like a convoluted way to do it. Why can't I pick guests (MDE accounts/avatars) when I add guests to my reservation to begin with? Makes no sense whatsoever.

After an hour and a half on hold, I finally got MS to change it earlier today (I was on hold already while I was making the OP.). I'll try what you suggested next time it happens to me.

Once my trip has been linked to MDE, any time I modify it or the guests, my MDE does update automatically.

What is so weird is that no matter what, I always have to match myself! Other guesrs are hit or miss.

I called WDW, not DVC and had to speak with someone in IT. They were able to switch my profiles to the correct one so that i could make my park reservations. That call took all of 2 minutes, but i was on hold 1/2 hour to just speak to someone and another 1/2 hr to correct the issue.

Do you have any park reservations made? That was my issue. I could make park reservations for 4 in our party just not me.

Well that makes me feel some better about myself. I always have to match myself away from the generic avatar also. I thought it was just me.

No. They were all done. And I threatened the guy within an inch of his life if he screwed those up doing whatever it was he was going to do. Very few if any reservations left for next week. I started not to screw with it at all because I knew the front desk at OKW could fix the room and the charge privileges anyway. I'm just hoping that for once, we may not have to deal with that at all. But... we shall see. At least this time, I know everything is supposed to be right and that there was nothing that looked fishy on our end.
