Modifying 7/4 deal

I wanted to drop the last day off our 7/4 deal reservation (which was actually 8/4 for us) since I booked 8 days. The CM informed me that I would have to change resorts in order to do that.

She said she had to rebook the entire trip (even though all I wanted to do was drop a day at the end) and it was not available for the resort I had booked. Apparently, even though I still would have had 7 days, I needed the 8th day in order to make the code work.:confused3

Anyway, my question is, would I have to cancel and book a whole new package just to modify the reservation? The dates would remain the same but I would like to modify the dining and ticket options I originally booked. Anyone know? TIA
 
I'd call back and try again, sometimes the answer you receive about modifying and changing depends on the CM who is helping you on the phone.

Example, I called booked the 7/4 deal First CM told me no go unless i bought 7 day tickets which I had been told by a friend who is a Travel Agent wasn't required. I pulled it up online and was able to book it with only 1 day tickets which is what I wanted since I am an AP holder. When I told her that I could book online with 1 day tickets she told me to book it online then I thanked her, hung up and called right back. The 2nd CM told me no problem I can book 1 day tickets for you, and I still got the 4 days with 3 days free.

So you might be able to do what you wanted originally if you call back but if not, you should be able to change the dining and tickets without rebooking.

There are all sorts of silly rules with dates and lengths of stay. For example, I want to book Jan 4-11. CSR isn't available. But if I put in Jan. 4-14, it is. Doesn't make any sense to me, but that's what comes up. Same thing happened with CRO.

So they may be right; a room that's available for 8 nights might not be available for 7.

Right after I talked to her I did check it out myself and she was right. Feb 5-13 = available BUT Feb 5-12 =not available! But do you think that they are going to have to make a whole new ressie just to modify tix and dining?
 

I would now be afraid to change IF they have to cancel and rebook - only because I have been trying to check availability etc on the site and NOTHING is coming up - for three days now!
I am really glad that I called and booked on Sunday! Maybe it is a system glitch I don't know... but I would make SURE they look and look again before canceling and rebooking... of course things should always be able to be fixed - but I have found that this is not always the case... anyhow I hope you get what you want/need! :thumbsup2
 
My agent said that there are over 200 codes for this promo, one for each combination (4+1, 4+2, 4+1 and 7 day tickets, 6 day tickets etc ).

She warned us that it was going to be very difficult to switch once booked due to this, and all but impossible once the promotion is over.

While booked for an 8 night stay you're at code ###, when you want to change to 7 nights it is a different code ~~~ and availability has to be there on THAT code for you to be able to switch.

I would rebook and then cancel. What happened to one of the previous posters happened to me in the fall with an AP discount. I had booked for 54/night for first 3 nights and 74/night for the last 3. Two days later all nights were 54/night when I checked online. I called to have the reservation changed and the CM refused! I wanted to book a new one with a CM and they also refused! I told them that that was the new price online and they said go ahead and book it. Well, I did no problem! When I called to cancel the first one, the CM asked why I just didn't call!! Confusing!
