Modify reservation and padlock

I have just gone into a reservation to change the contract use. I want to change to banked points from 2019.

I have the first contract showing but it has a padlock on it?

My UY is August and the reservation is for July 2020

Any idea why?

First, I assume you are talking about a reservation for July 2021 not July 2020.

My guess is that the BLT contract was used to make the reservation during the 11-month reservation window. If so the system will not allow you to modify the July reservation by switching points currently in the reservation to those from another resort. The general rule is that you cannot make that switch of points after the 7-month window opens unless the time you have already reserved is still separately available to others to reserve. That prevents someone from continuously making an 11-month reservation using BLT points, then changing the points at the 7-month window to SSR points just to get to use those BLT points again for an 11-month reservation. Note that if the banked points you want to change to are actually ones in the BLT contract, you should be able to make the change by just designating the BLT contract as the only one to be used.

If you have banked SSR points and any of the days are still available, modify the trip, check both contracts, don’t change a thing, and book it again. It should take any banked SSR points for days still there.

At least it’s always done it for me.
