We are planning a last minute trip for April and was interested in staying at Wilderness Lodge under the passholder rate. I can find the room we want on the 8th-11th or 8th-12th but our ideal dates are the 9th-12th and it doesn't show the room available for those days. If I book the 8th-12th can I modify it to drop the first day? I don't care about loosing fast passes, I just don't want to pay almost $100 more a night just for the bunk bed room the 9th-12th.

Disney will no longer drop the night. You would have to make a new reservation for those dates. You could try calling directly and speaking to someone, explaining the situation. Maybe they can work some magic... but they may not be able to.

Try calling to book. I've had them modify a reservation for me, it just has to get escalated to a different department. I've checked to see that the room is available for longer so that room is there and go from there. I wouldn't book it first.

Well I called and she couldn't see availability either so she put me on hold to try and get guest relations to do it. I held for nearly 20 minutes it seemed and she said no luck. She got 3 different levels involved so sounds like if I want to stay at WL I have to cough a couple hundred more dollars. Boo!

Call back and try again. It's true that Guest Services has the ability to override the system and sometimes they do say no, but it's up to the individual. So maybe next time you get someone willing to do it. For a couple hundred bucks it's worth a try.

Good point. She even actually told me to try and call back again but I figured that was because some availability might open up. She also mentioned they can do more /see more than I can on the website. Of course I’m sure phones are slammed now with SWGE bookings

Well I kept checking and they now have a standard room available for our dates!!! Of course this was after we booked Beach Club as a backup and were excited about trying. Now we just have to decide which reservation to keep/cancel.
