Oh how I hate to even post this thread :sad2:

As an AP holder and someone that stays multiple times throughout the year in WDW resorts I can't express my disappointment enough :furious:

But reality has set in and it is something that we all need to consider. Especially since the previous years AP deadline and has come and past and I got a very negative comment today by a CM :sad2:

I am going to start researching offsite. We will still use our APs and visit the parks but if we stay offsite we will likely eat offsite and do more stuff outside of Disney.

So what are your plans if no codes come out :confused3

Minnie, I feel your pain!

I booked in mid June for 9 nights with the AAA discount at Pop Century. A general code would be so much better for me because I wouldn't have to spring for the AAA membership.

I would be very upset if I had an AP and no discount code at this point! :furious:

Especially when over at Priceline some people are getting the All Stars for $36 pn! What gives???? :confused3

Granted, an AP does not guarantee any resort discounts but, come on, Disney, is this the way you treat your AP holders??????

I hope something comes out soon and you can apply it to your reservation!!! :wizard:

TC :cool1:

Right now we have room only ressies at the Poly with the AAA disc for 11/18 - 11/25.

If no code comes out, or no email with a pin.... we're going anyways.

There are 5 of us going and we're going Thanksgiving week. I wanted to be on the monorail, and because there are 5 of us it was either 1 room at a deluxe or 2 rooms at a moderate. I know we COULD stay at a value, but in 2004 we spend almost EVERY afternoon at POR swimming,so that is what I am use to.

Disney is not an every year trip for us. So I save for what we can afford, which is the Poly this year. If a code comes out, that just more money for souveniers or next years vacation!

We are staying at Pop Century....but, I'd like to split the stay and upgrade to a moderate for 4 nights. If not, we'll stay at Pop the entire time.

I still think something will be released for June and July.

If you look back to 2003....you will see that they released AP rates on 4/21 for stays starting on 4/28 thru 7/3. I'm hoping we don't have to wait that long....but, at least there is still hope.

This year seems to be a little different since they have broken out May from June / July.....so, who knows?

I still have confidence that something will be released.....I just don't know how long some people can wait.

I'd hate to be in the position of having a room that I "need" the AP rate to be able to afford....but, I can certainly understand being in that position since Disney has released AP codes or other discounts consistently over the past few years for the June and July time periods. I hate it for those people who at some point will have to downgrade and then maybe not be able to upgrade back to where they were when the AP rates do come out.

It's out of our hands now....all we can do is hope and wait.

Speed :teleport:

We have room only AAA rate for 6 nights CSR and 5 Nights BC. Though I hate to have only a 15% discount, we've already been planning around these resorts and are sticking with them. I would LOVE to have an AP rate, but I'm not holding my breath. I agree with threads that Universal has some good deals right now, and some may jump over to that park for at least a few of the days they'd planned on being at Disney. And I do realize that it's a perk not a guarentee, BUT with our AP we took 3 trips to DW within 1 year (something we never would have done without AP rates!!!) and I would think that Disney would want to temp it's annual passholders to keep coming back. Without the AP rates, we won't be making nearly as many trips... :sad2: :sad2: :sad2:

If no AP room-only code for our Concierge room at the WL for our 35th anniversary trip comes out we'll still go and probably cut back a little on the souvenirs and meals.

We do have money saved up and some money coming from my Mom as a present so I won't give up this reservation which is our present to ourselves!

I don't think we'll do the Dining Package because of Concierge either though we may get the Disney Dining Experience card for its discounts.

Wish! Wish! Wish!

;)

We'll stay where we are. We have a AAA discount at WL from June 5-11th and are okay with that. Our room is already paid off so it would have been nice to have credit on our room account for extras but Oh well.

This was a "last minute" trip for us anyway. We wouldn't even be considering this trip if we didn't have AP's for our park admission...so the AP's are serving their purpose there.

I've decided to stay at Pop regardless of discounts. I'd really like CSR, but they're booked up for our nights. I checked the passholder offer for the previous weekend and if the new rate (if there is one) is the same as the old one it really is only $50 less than rack rate. Still too expensive for a value resort, but as we need to split our party up at times and are only bringing one car we need to be on property. Those "on-site perks" are really starting to cost a whole lot though.

Not sure if I'll call and book this week or wait a little longer....its easier for me to book online as we're trying to keep this a secret from the kids...but I believe I need to book by phone if I want to be able to switch to a discount if one is released.

We'll go anyway. We're booked at POR in June. I booked it knowing we could afford it. Of course I'd rather have a discount. But it won't be the end of our trip if we don't.

No change in plans here. We too go multiple times a year so the AP has worked great for those visits. It saves us hundreds of $$$$ on the park admission alone! I always book where I intend to stay whether we get a discount or not. Will I be upset if none come out? Not at all. I look at them as strictly a bonus. Gosh I didn't even realize there were a such thing for years so it isn't a big deal to me now! LOL! If we get a discount great but it isn't going to burst my bubble if it doesn't happen.

We will be going to AKL in July AP code or not. Our trip is already paid off and an AP code, at this point, would give us a credit on arrival like last year. It would be nice, but the benefit of the saved money in not having to purchase a ticket and getting the DDE discount will certainly be appreciated anyway...code or no code. :)

Nothing will change is no code comes out for us. Getting a code would just mean a "free" upgrade or more money to spend at the parks on souveniers and dining.

We too, will continue with our plans. The reason we puchased the APs is for our return trips (December is our wedding at WDW, and we have already planned for next summer too). We have AAA on the room (LV at the GF), so we have SOME discount.

But I hate that the first time we purchased APs, there are no discounts (for the first time, I think :confused3 ). But that is the way it goes.

I was just hoping to have a bigger discount to help offset the price increase we are paying for our flight (almost 3 times as much as we did in December for the same flight :furious: )....

I still have hope that SOMETHING will come out, though it may not be what we have all been waiting for.... :badpc:

Yeah, same here. Any savings at this point would just allow us to upgrade the room or have more $$ for fun stuff, more ADR's etc...

I will not be happy about it though. Not ONE bit.
I hope it doesn't come to that.
If we got our codes, it would certainly make my trip and everyone elses who has invested in an annual pass, a most magical time!
Have some mercy Disney, aren't you making ENOUGH money? Just give us a teensy weensy break this summer!
Starting with June 4th would be nice!!! :teeth:

We're booked to stay at POR and we'll stay there if codes don't come out. I booked what I felt I could afford. If codes do come out, I'll try to upgrade to AKL or maybe another resort.

I'm not bitter about this, but of course I'd love to see codes come out. I get good use of my AP -- we had a trip in February where I had three rooms and got the BRP for all three and I'll have gone to the parks for 15 days. I also have the DDE and got discounts for dining that have helped save lots of money.

I really hope we will have codes -- and I'm monitoring as much as most (well, not like some people!). But, I won't be too disappointed because I am not depending on the discount.

I opened this thread against my better judgement and was pleasntly surprised not to read a whole thread bashing Disney becasue they "owe" us AP rates. I understand the frustration, but I never bought an AP solely for the "discounts" I went over Easter when there were no discounts. I still had a good time.

Also, if you look at the All Stars on Priceline there are a few things to consider. One is it is ONLY the All Stars. Not Pop, not the mods, not the deluxes etc... Also MOST of the days are in May when there are discounts at the other resorts. I think that this is a limited attempt by Disney to move some extra rooms at the values. As I read the posts on AP rates and codes, I don't see a lot of postings where the poster needs an AP rate for the All Stars. I see more posts where the poster wants an AP rate to move FROM the All Stars to the mods.

Also, I have read some complaints on CMs being rude... I always wonder what the other side is. I have this feeling that at least a few callers are "telling the CM how Disney owes them a code" (I mean if your first hour every morning was folks calling and taking it personally that Disney doesn't love them at some point....)

We will still be going if no AP codes come out, we know this without a doubt. We look forward to this trip too much (don't do any other vacations all year long and plan all year to do this one biggie!) We know what we can afford and if a code comes out that would help out a great deal, of course, but it's not going to stop us from going all together. We haven't booked our trip yet since we are hoping to just call one time with our room reservations and not make a change though, so we are going to hold out for another week and see. If nothing comes out then we will call and book. We will most likely stay where we are hoping to stay with a code, but just one less night (7 instead of 8).

Oh believe me I have heard first hand accounts many times over a drink and dinner from friends of what its like on the other side. It ain't pretty. :sad2:

I don't take WDW rates personally, but re my June res...

1) was annoyed that CR & AS rooms weren't avail even w/AAA disc very early in the year.

2) AS rack rooms were showing sold out, now they're appearing on Priceline? (although I don't know if my specific dates have been successful).

What did I do...I booked the 3 extra dates I needed offsite :thumbsup2.

We'll still have 4 days @ BWV; & will use my AP's to tour parks. However, I plan to take the opportunity to explore Orlando outside of WDW this trip. Will Disney miss a few extra bucks - probably not; but I feel better knowing where I'll be sleeping in 44 days (and how much it will cost).

Okay when I started this thread it was to help those of us that need to have alternate plans availalbe plan on what to do.

My error was in not stating that in title of the thread.

This thread was NOT opened for others to bash those of us that are waiting on codes to help make our Disney dreams come true. Those posts were out of order and not apropriate for this thread whatsoever. Enough of those posts are occuring in the code wait thread.
