Moderate - stay with what I know or switch it up?

Hey, all. I'm looking for your personal thoughts and perspectives on your favorite moderate. I'm of the mind that you don't know what you don't know. So in this case if someone picks one moderate over another for a reason personal to them, I want to know why. Maybe my rationale for picking resort hasn't been as thought out and I should take other things into consideration.

My reason for asking this (long winded) question is that my favorite moderate has been POFQ. But my satisfaction with the resorts has precluded me from staying at any other mod with the exception of POR. But I'm really wondering if I should open up my mind to others.

So, why do you like your favorite mod?

We've stayed at all moderates and POFQ is my favorite. CB, CS and POR are all spread out with multiple bus stops. POFQ is such a nice compact resort with all the amenities close to each other, the boat to DS and POR and Scat Cat's Club!

We have spent many Christmas vacations at French Quarter. The one bus stop is a big positive for us, especially at a busy time of year. The pool is nice, the short walk to everything is even better. We have stayed at Riverside and liked it as well, but FQ is still our favorite. Last year we tried CS because of no availability at FQ. It was ok, and my boys liked the pool. We had a preferred room, so that made walking to the cafeteria easy. The bus system wasn't bad either, but it had 4 stops.

I say give CSR a try. I have stayed at all four, and I like all of them.

We have stayed at all four.

We love preferred or Royal rooms at POR and preferred (or When they existed Business class) at CSR. CBR is great everywhere except the pirate rooms, IMO.

The pool, slide and hot tub at CSR are wonderful and great for somewhat older kids. CSR is beautiful to walk around, especially at night! SO romantic! The salon and fitness centre are nice as well.

POR has the boat the DS, Yee Haa Bob for entertainment, carriage rides, surrey bike rentals and three different themed areas that we love in different ways. The grounds are just beautiful here.

CBR is lovely and relaxing with its tropical island theme. We like preferred here, too, but if you don't get preferred then Jamaica is a great area to stay. The pool and play areas are really nice here for younger children. We really enjoyed the pool area here.

These 3 resorts are large, but that is part of what we like about them. We actually enjoy walking around the resort exploring. We do return for a rest mid day and like to have a look around and enjoy a swim in the pool(s). The extra bus stops just meant that we didn't have far to go to get the bus at these large resorts. We don't mind if the bus makes a few stops along the way - once we are aboard we are too busy talking about our plans to barely notice.

POFQ is my least favourite due to a shortage of amenities, but I do also enjoy POFQ for an occasional short visit. It is conveniently small. I just don't find the pool to be great and miss the amenities and beauty of the other larger mods when we stay here. I am not a fan of the city street theme nor of the Mardi Gras themed elements.

We like to mix it up. That way we get to enjoy the benefits of all four!!

Variety is the spice of life! Enjoy!

Usually I'd say switch it up, but with big construction projects going on at CBR and CSR, I'd stay put, do a split stay at a deluxe, or try out a value for a few nights.
