Moderate Resort vs DVC studio

I've booked a moderate (CSR) but now I'm rethinking that perhaps I can find something on points at SSR. Wondering if anyone has any insight on a moderate room vs DVC studio room. Do you think the rooms are similar? Are there items in DVC studios that you just won't get in a moderate room? I mean, could be a moot point if I can't even get a reservation on points. I know some nights are sold out at DVC for points during Xmas week. But I might be able to bridge points and cash for a studio stay... calling tomorrow and looking for insight before 9am hits. :) :surfweb:

All studios have one queen bed and one double sleeper sofa, except for OKW which has two queen beds. Moderates only have two double beds, so you are ahead already. Refrigerator would be under the counter type instead of the dorm-cube type in the moderates. Again, one more plus. You also have a microwave and toaster in the kitchenette and none in the moderates. You'll have a small balcony and none in the moderates.

Moderates have a food court, but unless you stay at VWL, you won't get a food court at BWV, BCV, OKW, SSR. BCV has the Marketplace and SSR has Artists' Palette. BWV has nothing, OKW has nothing except Goods to Go.

thanks for your help :) wasn't available anyway, but really good to know.

I need my balcony, and moderates just don't have them. And DVC studios are larger than moderate rooms.

The difference that was the most striking for us was how when you enter a room at the Mods the beds are first with the bath in the back. In a studio you have the bath first then the beds, which SIGNIFICANTLY reduces the noise you hear as people pass your room.

I should point out that this is the floor plan at all resorts but OKW, not sure about how OKW studios are set up, I have never stayed there!
