We have stayed at POR (1999), CSR (2000) and POFQ (2003) and have enjoyed all of them for different reasons. We really enjoyed the theme of POR and the music they play around the resort. If you walk around the Alligator Bayou very early in the morning, there are recorded sounds of roosters crowing, bullfrogs croaking, etc. I was singing CCR's "Born on the Bayou" the whole time we were there. We enjoy Boatwright's, also. When we stayed at CSR we were in the Ranchos section. We also enjoyed the theme there but our favorite part was the food court. It is set up like a market place and the food was very good. Our favorite, though, is probably POFQ. It is small, intimate, nicely themed and the spa is secluded and away from the pool so it is quiet. Perfect for a middle-aged couple with no kids along. The buses are shared with POR but stop first at POFQ for pick-up and drop-off. The only drawback is that is doesn't have a sit down restaurant but it is only a 10 minute walk up to Boatwright's. We also enjoy the boat to DTD at the PO resorts. CSR has a bus to the Boardwalk (at least it did in 2000) which is also nice.
We are also debating where to stay if we manage to get back this coming February. For some reason, we don't have an interest in CBR so we will be choosing among POR, POFQ and CSR. I think POFQ has the edge right now but it changes from week to week! And, if you stay at on of the PO resorts, don't miss Pianoman Bob performing in the lounge at POR. He's hilarious! And, don't rule out the AKL. You can usually get a pretty good discount for that one, sometimes as low as $120/night and they usually give comp upgrades during off seasons. We stayed there in 2002 and really enjoyed it.
Have fun choosing.
