moderate or value resort

Hi,
I would like to know which resort I should chose I’m going alone with two kids this summer thank you for your help

We have stayed at both and enjoyed them both but usually when we go now we spend quite a bit of time at the resort so we will spend the extra $ and go for a moderate. My kids like the water slide and we enjoy the hot tubs and the quiet pools. When we are away from the parks the moderate resorts are more relaxing and offer more things to do (bike and watercraft rental etc) but if you are planning to spend the majority of your time in the park then it might not be worth spending the extra money.

SOunds like you are really planning a fun trip. I guess it would depend on your budget and how much activity you expect your children will enjoy. My husband and I prefer value because we really only sleep in our room. It will be summertime and I am sure the kids will want to swim. All Stars and Pop Century have huge pools. For value we lately prefer Pop Century since it is a resort on its own. All Stars are three huge resorts in a row. Each of these resorts has a least 10 buidlings the size of regular hotels. The resorts are huge. At All Stars you may have to share a bus with the other All Star resorts, especially late at night. Pop Century has just one stop. The food is decent at the value resorts. House keeping has always been good, too. My Inlaws stayed at Coronado Springs several times and I have stayed a Port Orleans French Quarter. We loved the French Quarter, it was a much more sedate atmosphere and the rooms were larger. But again we feel like we get more of our money's worth at the Values. The Decor at the values is also much better for kids. I mean who wouldn't love have their picture made with a 20 foot tall Mr. Potato Head and skipping along a computer keyboard (all at Pop).

Again the two moderate hotels above are so big that there are multiple bus stops to pick up guests before you leave the resorts for the parks. So again we prefer Pop for this. I hope tis info has helped and know that what ever you decide it will be magical. Have fun planning.

It all depends on how much resort time you are going to use. If you are going to be in the parks all day, and use the resort only for sleeping and a swim, then I would save the money and stay at POP Century (value resort). If you spend a lot of time at the resort and want to spend the extra money, then the moderate I would choose would be POFQ. The pool area is good for kids and the resort is smaller and easier to get around.

And I can echo the others - it depends on how much time you are planning on spending at the resort - if it's a park intensive trip then go for a value as all you will do at your resort is sleep - if it's a more relaxing trip then spend extra on the resort and go for moderate.

We are staying at POP for the second time this January because we loved it the first time . We all so found that we never spent more than a couple hours a day ( other than when we where sleeping ) at the resort . The staff was great and so where most of the other guests .I could not justify the extra cost of a moderate .
