which one would you choose and why?we already have ressies for AKL savannah view for 7 nights, we could save 1000.00 if we stayed at a moderate instead and that would mean that we could use that 1000.00 on tickets and on souvineers. what would you do? we are DVC members and have rented some of our points to stay at some of the other resorts, we just want to try every resort.:p HELP. also on the mods what is the diffrence in the standard and the water view rooms and is it worth it to go with a water view?

Why not use the code AXA & stay AKL standard, I got it for $147.00 w/o tax?

You will still have a deluxe room at a deluxe resort.

Or check out this Swan & Dolphin deal at Deb's:
http://www.wdwig.com/faq_swan.htm
I actually got the rate even cheaper with Deb's code, $147.00 a night.

Well, If it romantic you want I vote for POR. There are just so many places outside to sit and stroll. We never had any trouble finding a quiet place to be together alone.

i just think that if i am going to stay at AKL i want the savannah view, dont think i could stay standard view.i think the moderates is the best place for us no more time than what we spend in the room.if we were going to be in the room more i would definetly pay the 250.00 a night for the AKL.

Look at lots of pictures of each of the Moderates and then take the one that appeals to you the most. They are all really good and have mostly similar amenities. CSR has a great main pool with a nice long slide. CBR has bigger rooms. POR and POFQ have the boat to Downtown Disney. They all have similar travel times to the parks. It mostly comes down to theme.

We are debating exactly the same thing :D. We really want to stay at AKL but only in a Savanah view room. The extra $1000 over a moderate has us booked at CSR right now. We're still hoping for good AP rates to come out then maybe we will switch. We've stayed at CBR (didn't really enjoy the pool) and POFQ (again fun but the pool is not as much "fun") for our kids (great for little ones though). Haven't heard about POR pool rehab yet..still waiting. So we chose CSR. I like the way the pool is very open and we can see all our kids at once rather than having it broken up and kind of divided into sections. did that make sense?? The only cons to CSR that we can see are 1. food court and 2. possible long walk from room to pool or food court. However, for only $22/night more than a value and $135 less than AKL savanah view it was an easy choice for us . ;)

thats exactly how i feel, though my hubby is now saying just go AS and that is that much more spending money.LOL

AKL would be the first choice if you can get the room cheaper but CSR would be my next choice. Check out my website below for pictures and info.

I've stayed at all the moderates and was upgraded to a water view at 3 of them. Personally I didn't think it was worth it and would not pay for a water view, because you don't have a balcony, so the only time you see the view is when you're walking into the room. I guess you could pull a chair up to the window, but I never did. My favorite was POFQ - small and charming.

I choose PO-FQ.

We have stayed at 3 of the 4 moderate resorts, and here is the breakdown of the plusses and minuses for each. CSR notwithstanding... doesn't appeal to us, so we have never stayed there.

PO-FQ-
Pros:
quiet, quaint, great theming, newly renovated food court, compact, only one bus stop, and it is 1st on and 1st off going and coming to and from the parks, direct boat to DTD from 4 pm until 11 pm, water taxi between PO-FQ and PO-R, great pool, nice slide, nice laundry facilities, nice playground, nicely furnished rooms, pretty landscaping, friendly castmembers, use of all amenities at PO-R, indoor lounge, 2 sinks
Cons:
no sitdown restaurant (shares with PO-R, but is located AT PO-R)

PO-R:
Pros:
great theming, boat to DTD, stops at PO-FQ on way, water taxi to PO-FQ, great lounge with entertainment, sitdown restaurant, nicely furnished rooms, pretty landscaping, newly renovated themed pool with new slide, nice playground, butterfly garden behind Acadian House, friendly castmembers, use of all amenities at PO-FQ, quiet pools, bike and boat rental, 2 sinks

Cons:
large, spread out, many bus stops

Caribbean Beach Resort:
Pros:
great theming, beautifully recently refurbished rooms, bike and boat rental, great quiet pools, 3 nice playgrounds, beautifully landscaped, curtain separating vanity area from sleeping area, new restaurant, newly refurbished food court, great pool bar, nice castmembers, larger rooms than the other mods, 2 sinks

Cons:
very spread out, check in not in same building as food court, main pool or gift shop, many bus stops, small themed pool with ackward layout, no indoor lounge.

*** CSR only has one sink in the room (a major consideration for us)

As for paying extra for the water view... it really depends on how much you will be in your room. We have done it twice, and not done it twice in the moderates, and it really didn't make that much of a difference to us, considering we really weren't there enough during the day to take in the view.

Hope this helps!

I voted for the CBR because I love the theme and layout of this resort. The grounds are beautiful and each island has it's own beach area and pool. You can relax on the hammocks on the beaches or rent boats or bikes. The rooms are a good size, bright and clean and the service has always been friendly. I also like the Banana Cabana, the poolside bar! I don't think you can go wrong with the Caribbean Beach Resort .
