Moderate advice, please. :)

WOW! I'm overwhelmed by all of the responses. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! I'm almost more confused than ever now. lol Fortunately, I have some time to plan - we won't be going back to Disney until next Fall - maybe during free dining, if offered.

What I'm learning about the moderates is that they are basically the same (room size, spread out - except for POFQ), but they each offer a unique theme. I haven't read too much about the different pools, but did read that CSR's pool is the biggest - is this correct? Actually, I'm not necessarily looking for the "biggest" pool, but it is important that the pool is FUN and has enough room to accomodate the guests (CBR was fun, just a little too crowded - again, I know this may change after the refurbishment).

I guess we'll need to make plans to stay at Disney MORE often to try ALL the great resort they have to offer!!!

OH... one more thing... we will be a family of 5, but I'm currently expecting our 3rd so our baby will be about a year old when we travel. This will allow us to stay in any of the resorts that sleep "4," correct?

i have a question on CBR..I keep reading that one of the pools will be closed until September 08 .. but does anyone know what date it opens in sept because I go SEPT 14-20 ...
I was wondering if it would be open during my stay or if it was going to be open later in the month ??

Thank you! I was just casually reading this thread, and there was my answer! The pool and especially the hot tub are important features for our next hotel stay. I've been having a heck of a time finding out which Disney hotels have hot tubs. Thanks so much, you've saved me so much time.

I don't know if an exact re-open date has been announced. We were there back in November and while the pool wasn't closed at that point, there was a large section near the main pool that was and when walking from our "island" to the main building, we were re-routed through a parking lot as the pathway was closed as part of the renovation. I was very disappointed that we were not informed that those renovations would be taking place during our stay.

We have stayed at all 3 of the other resort, and like all 3 of them, my preference is definitely POFQ. It is a smaller resort, and everything is not a far walk. We stayed in building 3 and were very close to the pool, main building and the food court. It was great. I like POR and CSR, but both of these resorts are very big and spread out, although they all have their own benefits...depends on what you like or want.

I've stayed at Riverside as a teenager and CSR as an adult. WE LOVED the pool area at CSR.. Large Pool, water slide, Mayan temple, Huge hot tub, volleyball courts, playground, pool bar...Fun fun fun.

I had stitches in my leg when we went to riverside, but I don't remember the pool area being as fun. You will love the pool area at CSR I think! Good luck.
