Mockingjay (now with spoilers. Jump in when you can)

I am soooo very excited for it to come out. My daughter and I both love the books. I imagine that either Peeta or Gale will die in the book in order to wrap up a relationship for Katniss.

I have the book pre-ordered to deliver on my Kindle at 12:01AM on August 24th.

Me and my boyfriend love this series and can't wait for Mockingjay to come out.

We both just recently started reading the series about a month ago. I never wanted to read the book because I thought it wasn't my type of book. But I'm glad I was wrong.

I was just checking Amazon for the release date. I already ordered it. I'll have to fight my boys for it when it gets here. It has been awhile since I read the other two. I'll have reread them before the Mocking Jay comes out.

Yep, I'm on the list at work as well. I actually put out a If you like Hunger Games then read this....list because it's so popular. On the YA Forever blog they've talked about how it's a flood on YA depending on the 'it' subject. Was vampires now it's post apocolyptic....haven't read any of the others on the list yet (well except Life as We Knew it) as I'm still recouperating from summer reading, but I am looking forward to this book.

I have been on the library waiting list for a couple months. I'm like the 100th person so I might have to buy it.

If one of them has to die, then I hope its Gale. I want her to end up with Peeta!

I am dying for Mockingjay. We will be in NC when it comes out and I intend to pick itup at the airport for my flight home.

I resisted reading these since i read way too many post apocolyptic books but a friend said i HAD to read Hunger Games and I did in about a day. I devoured #2 and have been dying for #3. Am going to reread Hunger Games and the second this weekend at the pool

I agree I don't want Katniss to end up with Gale. He is sweet and all that but Peeta is the guy for her!

There is so much to wrap up and start up in the next one. I hope they can do it!

Spoilers below . . .

She and Gale were right for one another before the Games. If life hadn't interferred, she'd have ended up with him. She obviously loves him, and she specifically said she chose him and rebellion.

Peeta is a wonderful guy, and Haymitch has told Katniss flat-out that Peeta is too good for her, she will never deserve him. He is perfect. He's a good influence on the hot-headed Katniss, and she values his friendship like no one else's . . . but she clearly feels nothing romantic for him. He can spin a story like nobody's business (how'd he come up with that secret marriage/pregnancy thing?), and he'd be a wonderful leader for the rebellion. He'd also be a wonderful martyr if he were dead -- and the Capitol has him.

No, Peeta is being set up to die. Katniss will then feel terrible about him and will have trouble going back to Gale, but she will. Gale is the guy who can provide local leadership for their own people once the Capitol is destroyed. IF Peeta lives, it'll be in the NEW Capitol as a fair national leader.

Peeta is Arthur, the perfect king, but destined to do what's right for the country, never to have personal happiness.
Gale is Lancelot, flawed, human, and in posession of the right chemistry to get the girl.

Completely off-topic: My daughter has a "Down with the Capitol" shirt with a MockingJay on the front. She's saving it to wear to the first day of school.

I'm number 43 on the waiting list at the library. Looks like they're ordering about 30 of the books, so shouldn't be too long a wait. I really enjoyed the first two!
