Mobility issues/walking?

We can only do Magic if I have 2 weeks of nothing. Since my pup will be in a kennel, I feel bad doing that. Otherwise we have family we could visit during that time. Sigh. If pup could come with us... He is still young yet for a Lab and too energetic and bouncy! . Maybe next time.

You can book an accessible stateroom in the same manner as any other stateroom -- either directly with DCL via phone or website, or through a TA. Sometimes the accessible rooms go quickly so booking as soon as you know your dates is best. However, I believe the newer Dream and Fantasy have a larger % of accessible staterooms than on the older ships, so that may work in your favor if you choose the Fantasy. I would advise booking the accessible stateroom, and then later if you decide you won't be using an ECV you can request to move to a regular room if available and your fare should remain the same. A manual wheelchair can fold to enter a regular stateroom if you can walk around the room on your own.

Are accessible rooms more costly?

I was able to call the disability line before booking and she was very helpful! She said to,book it in case I do decide to use one. Now off to check costs to rent one!

Costs are minimal so this will be best. Now how hard is it going to be to learn to drive it? Gosh hope the ship isn't too crowded!

Accessible rooms should cost the same as a standard room in the same category, however there may not be an accessible stateroom available in all categories. Staterooms on a cruise are priced in "tiers" meaning that the prices are lowest when first released and increase as more passengers book that cruise.

I'd suggest trying out an ECV at a local grocery store or big box store. Those will be much bigger and bulkier than what you rent, so if you can master that you should be fine.
