OK, I'm a large Pooh sized person. I have learned that when I go to WDW, I can do and see more (my family too, as they don't have to wait with me in taking breaks) when I rent a ECV. I used to just rent from WDW, but changed to Randy's. When I rented from WDW, I could do Disney Studios w/o renting.

How does Disneyland compare in size> I can walk for a while, but then I need to take breaks. (Standing) in a line to wait makes my back hurt pretty quick. Waiting seated on a EVC is fine. Since I obviously can walk, will the folks @ Disneyland be judgemental?

One more thing, does Disneyland run out of EVCs during the day? I really don't want to rent one from an outside company for this short trip.
Thanks.

More than likely MeChurchLady will chime in shortly. She lives close to Disneyland.

Their ECV rental is within the Security area between both parks so after renting you can go into either DL or DCA, or even hop between them (if you have hopper tickets) and use the ECV in either park. They have been known to run out, especially on busy days. I know a few years ago I was there in the summer, got to the parks about 1:00 and was told I would be #13 on the wait list for an ECV.

Last time I rented from Deckert's; this time I'm bringing my own.

If you click on where it says "disABILTIES" at the top of this page it will take you to the Index. One of the top items is the "disABILTIES FAQ" which will gives lots of useful information. Post #14 deals with Disneyland.

Or, if you want an easier route to the FAQs, click on the link in my signature.

Actually, I live in Orange County 15 minutes from Disneyland and use an ECV. As Cheshire said, renting from off-site would be your best bet. DL can run out of ECVs on busy days. Although the parks are very close to each other (basically across an esplanade) there is walking from the hotel to the park entrances and there is walking within the parks. Some of the lines you will have to walk some (as they were built long before the ADA), but many lines you can ride the ECV through.

The companies I have used are Deckert's (like Cheshire) or OC Medical. OC Medical is a bit more expensive but their equipment is better I think. YMMV.

If you have any other questions please feel free to PM me.

That is a recent size related thread. I posted there what I have experienced. Deckert is a good company to rent from.

As for size some rides are more about shape like big chested people have troubles with Maliboomer even thought there are not really overweight. Disneyland has its meanies and jerks as does any park but I find them to be very very rare. Disney restaurants will carry your tray if you are in an ECV or wheelchair. I have had people hold gates and doors open for me. I have seen so many acts of kindness in the parks. DLR is very pooh friendly. Some rides have test vehicles like Dumbo and the Tea Cups. DLR CMs are magical people who will make you forget your limitations.
