Hi
As long as your phone is either quad or tri band they should work. Also contact o2 and ask them to set up your international roaming facility on your phone.
I used my o2 PAYG phone last year without any problems.

ONLY if they are what are called tri band.
The USA uses a different frequency to Europe, which are dual bands.
What are the models of your phones?

HI kirstin

i am not sure of pay as go mobiles.we are on vodaphone and we contact them before we go and they do the rest.i also think it depends on how old youre phone is as i think they need to be tri band? although that im not 2 sure of.

give youre customer services a call at o2.

if not grab a prepaid phonecard as these are cheaper and very much widely available in florida.avoid phonecalls from youre hotel room.

have a great trip

Beware

Assuming that they are US compatible and that your Mum & Dad are with you in Florida, all calls will be routed through the UK, even if you are all in the same room!

You will pay for an international call to send, your mum or dad will pay to receive an international call.

If you just want to keep in touch with each other, it might be cheaper to buy pay as you go phones in Florida.

The 6610i is one of my phones, I can confirm that with the right service provider it will work in Florida (Mine was Vodaphone)

Also beware of receiving calls in the US from home, my work called me to see if we were ok after hurricane Frances (at 6.30am US time - still haven't got over this!). 11 minutes and £11 on MY bill later I managed to tell them we were fine!

I'm on o2 contract and DD is on o2 pay as you go, DS has voda pay as you go - all worked fine over there. We used texts to keep in touch with each other in the parks.

6230 is tri-band. Is the 3200 the one with the clear covers? If so, I think that's tri-band too.

Hello Kirsten

If you are wanting to use your mobile just to keep in contact with the people you're going on holiday with in the parks etc, you may be better with a set of walkie talkie's. We saw loads of people out there using them.

Just a thought for you :goodvibes

Ok thanks for your help everyone was a great help... Not so much to keep in contact with eah other just with my nan she worrys to much and would be panicking no end if she didn't get a daily call or message :)
