Mobile ordering - glad more don't use it!

I was going to try it but will not pay an additional cost for using CC (from UK). Also we had enough cash with us (bought when exchange rate was better) to settle our bill at resort without paying by card.
Although busy we only had a long wait time once at Casey's and that was poor organisation on their part on other occasions we chose A/C to give DGC a break.

Well, unless and until they figure out how to make it work with the allergy-friendly menus, you don't have competition from any family/person with food allergies. :(
bummer.

I agree, the pound is weak enough, meaning our Disney holidays cost us a lot more, so another 2.99% per transaction on my CC adds up. We've have to just queue with everyone else :sad2:

I really noticed with shopping this time. Nevertheless looking forward to planning the next trip already!

Have you guys looked into credit cards with no foreign transaction fees?

Has anyone asked for a glass of ice water when they picked up their order? I wanted some ice water, but didn't see the option in the mobile ordering. Then, when I picked up my order, I forgot I'd wanted it! Can you just ask when you pick up your order? Or are the people there just trained to hand you your tray and say "Next one?"

I've asked for water at the pickup area, no mobile order, so I'm sure you can!

Here now...

Twice I got in very long lines on a whim - Columbia Harbor House and Aloha Aisle - and while in line placed an order on the app. I stepped out of the long lines and got my food looooong before I would have if I had waited in line. In fact, the CM at Aloha Aisle asked my name and made my float immediately.

At the time I stepped out of the Aloha Aisle line I mentioned to the nice family behind me they'd have better luck with the app. The wife turned to the husband and said, "Yeah!" and I was going to show him what to do but he pulled it open and mumbled something about it not being registered so it probably wouldn't work and so they didn't try it.

So those of you with some phobia about this - please, remain confused about it! :-)

One odd thing about it - instead of charging it to your Disney account it immediately charges your CC on file. Not sure why.

I'm on DDP so I won't be able to use it unless that changes in 3 weeks. Very sad.

We'd planned to use this when we went, but, like others have mentioned, ended up not doing so because the only payment method available was credit card (we were using a gift card). We could've used it for our very last meal in the parks after our gift card ran out, but there was only one person in front of us in line so it wouldn't have saved us any time over using the app. I loved how easy it was to go through an order while playing around with it at home, though! It seems insanely convenient, and I don't think we ever saw anyone using it while we were there.

My DD tried it twice a month ago. Once was super fast, and the other time she waited at the pick up point for about 20 mins. Pinocchi's was mobbed though.

I really want to use this and am debating it for my trip at the end of the month. I had planned to pay for my food with a rewards card.

But I might just test it out and save some rewards points for our March trip. I’ll be paying out of pocket either this month or in March.

I just use it for the places that don't have an AP discount.....but I don't have gift cards, so I don't have to worry about that....

we used it all over WDW last month, and only Columbia Harbor House was a mess, it took us like 10-15 min to get the food when we hit "I'm Here"....other places, less than 3 minutes...

I am also really excited to try out the new mobile ordering. In "real life", I always prefer to place my order electronically if at all possible/order in advance. It's so much more convenient and I never have to worry that someone will misunderstand my order. Plus, it can be a little frustrating to have to stand behind a family who can't decide what they want to order whenever you know exactly what you want.

Fortunately, I don't have to worry about allergies and I'd rather pay with my credit card anyway in order to earn points. Maybe enough people like me will switch to mobile ordering and that will help shorten the lines for people who can't use the app for some reason...and the World will be a better place to eat CS for all of us. :)

Sadly being an IT professional when on vacation I refuse to do anything with computers when I get there. If my daughter wants a 4th Fastpass she reserves them. On vacation I just like to forget about about anything IT.

As to U.K. people above, get a Post Office credit card or Halifax, you get the proper inter bank exchange rate, no fees.
Secondly, when using this can you get DVC discount? Suspect not...
