Here now...

Twice I got in very long lines on a whim - Columbia Harbor House and Aloha Aisle - and while in line placed an order on the app. I stepped out of the long lines and got my food looooong before I would have if I had waited in line. In fact, the CM at Aloha Aisle asked my name and made my float immediately.

At the time I stepped out of the Aloha Aisle line I mentioned to the nice family behind me they'd have better luck with the app. The wife turned to the husband and said, "Yeah!" and I was going to show him what to do but he pulled it open and mumbled something about it not being registered so it probably wouldn't work and so they didn't try it.

So those of you with some phobia about this - please, remain confused about it! :-)

One odd thing about it - instead of charging it to your Disney account it immediately charges your CC on file. Not sure why.

It only works with CC at this point. No other form of payment.

Well, unless and until they figure out how to make it work with the allergy-friendly menus, you don't have competition from any family/person with food allergies. :(

Yes, I agree. We used it a few times last week and it was great. One day, at CHH, DH and I used it while we stood outside the restaurant. Then we immediately went back and clicked "I'm here now!" Meanwhile DS and DDIL chose to stand in line because they didn't know what they wanted. We got our food LONG before they did. And I'm selfishly hoping Disney's IT never figures out how to add the dining plan.

Yup that would be us. We also can't use the AP discounts or charge to our room so we won't likely be using it until they figure any of those things out.

I may be willing to forgo the AP discount for the sake of time! At a counter service spot, we're talking just a few dollars saved with the discount anyway and time is money at Disney ;)

Thanks for the review!

That's the way we look at it. We'll gladly forfeit our DVC/AP discount for the convenience and time saved.

This is exactly why I can't use it. :/ I'd love to, I really wish they'd put the allergy menu on the mobile order. I can kind of see why they don't, risk issues, but it seems so nice and convenient.

Same here, we loved it the couple times we used it and one of the times, our cc was refunded the money and we still got our food from Pecos Bills so not sure why but a little magic came our way.

We used it twice and loved it! To bad you can't get the TIW or AP discount. But the time savings was worth it.

Ha! We used it at Cosmic Ray's in August. Ordered on the walk over from Space, clicked "I'm here", walked in and asked a CM where the pick up was - she had no clue! That's how SECRET it is, LOL! We walked around the lines until we found the sign for the mobile order pick-up. There was no one in line and the CM looked THRILLED to see us - I think we finally gave him something to do! We had our food, literally, within a minute of walking into the restaurant. It was AWESOME! We will definitely do it again in December. The only reason I hope it picks up a little is I don't want them to take it away!

We were at the World in October and didn't use the app because of the payment methods, but we tend to eat at off times and never had much of a wait at all.

Same with us. Right now, I'm happy to eat at off times and order from the cashiers while there are no lines and I can utilize the discounts.

The more I've read about mobile ordering, the more I'm looking forward to utilizing it for all of our lunches and our arrival night dinner! Something like this will be extremely beneficial for my DD and I, as our meal planning will be built more around simple sustenance and efficiency to maximize our time around the parks, and not as much about dining experience. Thanks for the review!::MickeyMo

This is the reason why we can't use it. We are from the UK so would incur a foreign currency charge every time if we used our credit cards to pay for meals :sad2:

The one or two percent FX fee is worth it to skip the line! We used it a few times on our visit and thought it was excellent, made CS meals a lot better. It also made it a lot easier to order, I could pass my phone around to the family and they could choose what they want, rather than telling me in line where I usually forget by the time I get to the counter... It was also a lot easier to view menu options.
