Moana?

Just saw the movie and LOVED it. here is my question. I know Moana is meeting at HS any chance they will eventually have a Maui character also?

It'd be challenging.

Due to the tattoos, they'd need him to be a fur. Moana is a face character. I can't think of instances where they've mixed the "types" of people meeting.

I can think of cases where people characters have been furs -- usually, it's when the character is a child, like Lilo, Sofia and Doc. But usually once one human in a property is face, they all are.

So I am guessing not.

A Maui character does exist, so it's likely you'll see photos of him pop up on-line. However, there are no current plans for Maui to make any M&G appearances.

But Beast, Genie and Baymax are not human by nature. Beast is obviously a fur, Baymax is an inflatable AI. You wouldn't expect them to be people. Genie is very borderline.

My point was more that if a franchise has people meeting as face, all the people meet as face.

Maui is a people. There has actually been some negative reaction to how much bigger he is than traditional depictions of him (Maui is not a character created by Disney, he is borrowed from mythology), but he is absolutely a human. Well, Demi-God.
