We're planning on being in Epcot on Oct 16th. Do you think the Moana opening day will bring lots more crowds? Should I change our park reservations? Thanks!

I don't think the attraction itself will be a crowd driver....but if it's the sole Moana M&G (I'm not sure if she is staying in AK once she has a "home) there might be crowds in the way that Norway is crowded because of the sisters.

Did MK's attendance (or at least the number of people in the entrance plaza) go way up the day the walkway from GF open up?

Isn’t it the 100th anniversary celebration in every Disney Park worldwide on the 16th? I think in general you can expect more crowds.

I really don't think the moana attraction will bring big crowds but overall 10/16 will be a busy time in the parks in general since it's fall, the 100th celebration that day and it's also a 4 day weekend for a lot of schools now, not sure if that's just a southern thing. Not sure why given 10/9 is columbus day but there are school districts that skip it. Our school districts will skip the holiday every so many years based on start date/days in session and then the following weekend is a 4 day weekend. So this year 10/13 and 10/16 no school.

It's not a Moana M&G at all. She isn't there.

Hmmm, interesting... I did not know about the 100th on 10/16. I'm thinking I'll keep Epcot reservation, as it might be a better park to be in if it's going to be crowded everywhere. We're just hoping to ride a few old favorites and then do F&W. Thanks for the scoop!
