Moana 2 Early Screening for DVC

I've been to a number of West End shows with a "no phones" policy, it happens mostly for previews or shows that are filmed for TV. They always have pouches that cannot be opened without a special key. You put your phone in it, keep the pouch closed the whole show (or movie) and at the exit they free your device.
Not sure Disney will use the same system, but most likely it's what I think will happen.
We saw Take Me Out on Broadway in 2022 and they used Yondr pouches and had security screening... (there is a full frontal locker room scene that had Jesse Williams and Julian Cihi (Tim Kono) in it), they were very strict and it was no big deal. It was easy to get your pouch unlocked on the way out and during intermission if you wanted to check your phone, but they watched you before letting you go back in.

Just got a reminder email about the event.....it specifically says you need to have your DIGITAL Membership ID......so they are encouraging us to not bring our devices, but at the same time have our digital card? Sounds like one hand isn't talking to the other.....

Yep agree lol.

At worst, it'll be a Yondr pouch type thing. No biggie. My middle schooler has to put her apple watch into a pouch every day for school. As above, we've had to do it for a Broadway show. When I went to the show, I kept my apple watch so I could still send and receive texts.

At least in the email they gave us more specifics about the event and that the check in is at 3:30. I am glad that we won't have to arrive so early now!

So far screening has been nice. They have not taken our phones... so we have been chilling in the movie theater seats while waiting for the movie. We also got a voucher for a free popcorn and drink! Loving dvc right now.

Totally agree. Nice event overall. Scanned in via back door entrance around 3:25p via MB (guess they can finally see DVC status). Show started at 5:00 with a virtual tour of the new Poly Tower, a few trailers then the movie (wonderful we really enjoyed it). House of Blues after show was DJ on the main stage, pizza (meh), pulled pork/hawaiian rolls (yum), coconut shrimp (yum), pot stickers (ok) cupcakes and cookies. No pressure to attend an Owners Update. Swag bag: Clear Moana 2 bag, teal metal DVC Poly water bottle, DVC Poly Tower artwork, hand fan, and Moana 2 Luggage Tag. Well done DVD!

We really enjoyed the screening, but we did have an issue getting in (briefly). The person's handheld scanner kept saying we were ineligible. We have 725 direct points, so are DVC-Y and I had a copy of the email (and follow up email) they sent. We were let in, but it was stressful for a few minutes.

We did a screening in another city. Kids enjoyed the movie. Posters and coloring pages were handed out at entrance and/or departure.

There was a sign about no recording.

Really fun event. No issues at all. Food was pretty good. It was really fun. Downside was that the movie was really bad. Hope it does well at the box office but it is not a good movie. No good songs or heart like the first one. Hope to do it again one day.

That's all?? You made it in just barely.. 😂

Overall a nice event! Glad we could make it.
.
Ridiculous warning about phones being confiscated but most people brought them to show digital membership card & were allowed to keep them in the movie. (Although security guard D’s we’re watching for anyone recording movie.

The movie was good but not as good as the first one—more disjointed action pieces & not enough pay off at the end of uniting Oveanic peoples.

Sat outside at the House of Blues away from the noise & practicality had it to ourselves. Very disappointed that the food Blue vegetarian offering was tiny pieces of bland pizza. Planners need to do better! The food lines were manageable but kept backing up as they were constantly running out of food & sauces; took forever to refill.

The movie I think was good. Music not as good as the first but I laughed and cried at many parts. My son loved it. I think sequels are never as a good as the first soo I think it was a good sequel.

The house of Blues party was a nice touch. We got a spot on the 2nd floor. So was able to be away from crowds but still participate. Food was mid to good. Free food is always great to me though. My son loved dancing and we had a cute photo op spot. The goodie bag was very nice. I am already using the water bottle they gave us. The water bottle is super nice quality. No high pitch selling, there was a cute little trailors before the movie that I would honestly watch on YouTube on my own cause I love those kind of nerdy details ... it was all well done.

If we honestly were shopping right now we would soo look into getting poly... but we have aulani... so hard to beat that.

Very happy with this event. I hope dvc does more of this kind of thing in the future.
