MNSSHP - When are you going?

Can I ask a Q or two about this event. What time do they begin to let you in for this event (i have heard it can be as early as 4pm). Is this worth arriving early as this

I am guessing that the period of time that they are booting out regular guests (7 - 7:45pm) means its easier to get on rides if you have a halloween party ticket? Or Is that wishful thinking?

What are the crowd levels like right at the start of the party?

Thanks

We always arrive on party nights between 4-4:30pm, 1 year we got there and they were stopping people in costume on Main st, asking if we wanted to be in the parade, we said yes and we went around waving to the crowds on the omnibus. Great experience and would not have happened going in later.
Also odd ride is closed thru party nights so you need to get in early if you want to do them, Jungle cruise I can think for 1.
I think crowds all depend on when you go, earlier parties are quiet, early midweek even quieter. Nearer you get to 31st Oct busier they get. We have been lucky always walk on rides all evening.

Crikey - we went on a Friday night last September, around the 20th and the place was rammed.

We have always gone weekdays to both MNSSHP and Pirates and Princess parties, rides always walk on(and stay on if wanted). I think weekend parties attract locals so a lot busier.
This was a Pirate party midweek, not late, around 10pm, quietest we have ever seen MK.

when we went last year , the 12th September the rides were walk on however the parade and fireworks were busy. Hope the rides a walk on again this year as DD loved getting to stay on BTM.:thumbsup2

See this worries me, as a well know WDW touring guide is telling me to go on Friday 9th instead of Thursday 8th...........

Thats a strange one, If US kids are in school on the Friday 9th I would expct Thursday 8th to be quieter. Friday must be busier if they are off school for the weekend. Wonder why its giving that choice?

I asked on the forum over there - so my answers are only from other keen users, not the guide himself.

And they recon its because the start of October is too early for locals to go, so the people going will be vacationers, who will be assuming thursday is quieter than friday, and hence making it busier.

I don't know if I'm convinced. Although I'd prefer a friday in a way, as then we wont be having a lie in on a weekday morning when we could be enjoying a quiet park....

We had the same sort of experience in 2007, can't remember the exact date but it was sometime between 13-27 September. Since we'll be there mid-October this year i'm expecting it to be busier but not too worried really :)

Just added Gemmybear83 to the list, as I saw on the Trip Reports board that she had booked her tickets.
Hope you don't mind Gemmybear :thumbsup2

Just got off the phone and have booked our MNSSHP tickets for the 2 of us for Tues Oct 6th.

Went about the same time of year in 2007 and it was just busy enough to have some atmosphere but quiet enough for most attractions to be walk ons. The party is highly recommended!

same night as me! I will be dressed as tinkerbell and my DF Peter Pan so come and say hello if you see us (photos of us are in our pre -trip report linked in my siggy!:)

First time we have been and I'm really looking forward to it :goodvibes

We will be there in sept and I really want to go to mnsshp but Im wondering if its worth the price for 3 adults who will probably not be dressing up. Thanks :)

There are plenty of adult-only families, that don't dress up, that go and have a wonderful time. These parties are the only chance for adults to dress up in the parks, so bear that in mind. But you'll still have tons of fun going 'trick or treating' and collecting your bag fulls of candy.

You get a special parade to watch (if you like parades), the HalloWishes fireworks, which are my personal favourite of all the firework displays. There's normally a meet 'n' greet with the evil villans, and then various other characters all over the park, and they are usually in their halloween costumes. Then, of course, nothing beats a practically empty MK, with all but walk-on rides everywhere!

Adults get a slightly better deal too. Since the park is open until midnight, most families with younger kids that can't stay that long, start to disappear after the final parade, so the last hour or so, the place is all but deserted! At least, that is the case with the early parties (September ones). Also, if you decide to go, pick the mid-week ones, they tend to be even quieter.

Just bumping this in case anyone else has booked and wants to add their name to the list.
