LOL that reminds me of last year when we went with DH's mom and step dad.. We got to MK and started to walk around and his mom started walking faster and faster.. we all looked at each other and I said No comando! lol
My stepfather in law is the type of guy that likes to take his time looking around and I don't mind that at all, but when he heard that train and knew what we had to do to make it.. man that was the FIRST time I've ever seen the man walk/almost run that fast! haha

As the only DISers we actually ran into I had to make sure and catch up on your TR before y’all headed out again You are sooo lucky going again this year – and during MNSSHP! We’re not going to get another DIS trip until December of ’09 and that will be to Disneyland.

Roxy is a very cute addition to the family – she looks like quite the snuggler Zar is playing Indiana Jones on the Wii? My 9yr old Bean just bought it for herself after we rented it a week ago – she loves it I’m sure you guys have played the lego star wars series – much fun.

It sounds like you have the pin trading all lined out – you should have LOTS of people to trade with and lots of cool Halloween pins to choose from

Your day 1 looks good – I know getting up that early can be a chore, but having all of Saturday without travel will be worth it! I’m looking forward to hearing what you thought of the Silver Lake Resort. You may remember that we also stayed off-site and I think that is one of the resorts that we can choose from in our family’s floating timeshare.

Your goals for the rest of the trip look very fun Just getting out there and seeing the resorts (we didn’t get to see any of them while we were there unless you count the Contemporary. What is a Bok sanctuary? Oh, and since you’re spending a bunch of time off property make sure and take good bug spray …hehehe

You should have a really good balance between fun and relaxation there. Only 2 weeks to go now right?

Hi everyone

I can't believe I am saying this ~ although I have been thinking it for awhile...

We cancelled our trip today

It was something we had been talking about, and the prices of gas going so crazy, and more importantly the hard to find gas , well, it did it.

Gosh, there are many reasons, mainly the gas problems, but others, that caused us to cancel.

The kids weren't THAT excited, because we weren't going to be going to Epcot and DHS, so when we talked to them about it first they really didn't seem to care much. Nara was really sad about missing the party, but it was fine because their birthdays are in the middle of all that, and now they can do what they wanted and have big parties, etc.

Also, when we booked this villa in Jan., I just picked a date. It happened to be about 2 weeks after the Disney Homeschool Days which are in a few days from now. The kids had rather wait for that again next year and be able to visit all the parks if we want. Or maybe even free dining! I know they would love all the relaxation and exploring, but mostly E and I were more excited about that

So, since we didn't have too much planned, we just decided to take the loss of the villa we have booked, sell our tickets to the party and save all our pins for next time ~ cause you know we're going back!!!

Don't be sad for us please ~ we're really not sad at all. Yes, we will miss Disney, BUT we just went and had the most AMAZING trip ever 8 months ago!!!

So thanks to all for reading, and next time we are headed for Disney World I will do another PTR

Wow I can't believe you canceled, but I completely understand why. We had to keep our spending to a minimum this year too. This gas problem is crazy, hope within the next 2 weeks it's behind us or we won't be going either. I went to 3 gas stations today before I found regular gas for my minivan. I knew I should have filled my tank yesterday but drove home on 1/8 of a tank . Well I hope the kids all have a lot of fun at their Bday parties. Looking forward to hearing about your new plans when you make them.

I'm sorry you'll miss the party.
I'm glad to hear you are not upset though.

I am hanging onto this year, but I don't think next year is going to happen.
The home heating oil is going to be a huge expense this winter.

Well I'm glad your not upset. No trip is worth having stress. it will give you something to look forward to next year and the kids will be looking forward to it by then too. Nara and Zar are going to be 6 time flies. Hope they have a wonderful Bday!! Gas is up to $4 and up here. it's crazy. They are just gouging everyone . Seems like the price of everything is doubling these days and the paycheck is getting smaller . Well I hope everything works out and I hope to see you on the boards.
