MNSSHP Wait Times

We were also able to book and use 3 FP+ reservations on the night of the party between 4 and 7 even though we only went to the party that day. I also had the same experience as a PP who said Haunted Mansion never got below 45 minutes the entire night. We went on Thursday October 23rd so I would agree that the closer you get to Halloween and the weekend the busier the party will be. However, besides 7DMT and HM most rides were 20 minutes or under. My husband and I went specifically for the parade, fireworks, and rides. We were able to get everything accomplished that we wanted, rode 7DMT twice and everything else we wanted to ride we did...just didn't do HM.

I went to MNSSHP last year, 10/28. It was my last day of vacation. I only had a hard ticket for the event, did not use a regular park ticket that day. I was able to make FP+ from 4-7pm.

If this is true than someone with a regular day ticket plus a seperate party ticket could make 6 FP reservations. 3 before 4:00 and then 3 between 4&7.

I don't see how that is possible.

As I understand it, this possible if the MNSSHP tickets are linked to a separate MDE account with a separate email address. Disney would have no way of knowing that the person who used three FP+ earlier in the day is also using 3 on the party ticket.

I just spoke to Disney to confirm my belief from being at the MNSSHP last year and knowing that we couldn't do FP+ for the hard ticketed event.
Disney has confirmed what I understood to be true. The only way you can get the FP+ allowances the day of the MNSSHP (hard ticketed event) is if you had a regular park ticket or hopper and used it in the same day for your FP+ ressies up to the start of the party at 7 (official start). After 7pm there are NO FP+ allowances and between 4-7 the only way you are getting FP's is if you are using a NON HARD TICKET (non-Party ticket).

Sorry, but that CM was wrong. Last October the only ticket I had in hand and linked to my MDE account was a MNSSHP ticket. I made 3 FP+ reservations, from home, the day my window opened from 4-7pm.

Go look at last year's MNSSHP thread, you'll see that this experience was the norm.

I think the confusion is that you can't make 6 FP+ on one day on a single MDE account, even if you have a party ticket. If you are only going to the party, and only using that ticket on the party day, you can use it for FP+. We are planning on going to a different park that day on our AP, so I booked my party tickets on a separate MDE account in order to make the FP+ between 4 PM and 7 PM.

You don't get FP's with the MNSSHP ticket even when entering at 4pm. Unless you're using a regular park ticket in combination with your MNSSHP ticket that day, that's the only way you can use FP's, and that would only be until 7pm.

Yes you can, I've done it a few times. We usually do not go to a park on party day, only party ticket.

Granted, this was during the FP+ rollout, but I too used FP at 4, 5 and 6 on a party day when I entered on a party ticket. I only had one other one-day ticket and I used it the next day.

Back to the wait times...DD and I went last year and rode splash mountain 6 times in a row. Never saw another soul. They just kept asking her if she wanted to go...longest ride of my life lol. After 6 I said we were getting off and trick or treating and doing other rides lol. What a kid!!!! We were also able to ride Barnstormer a few times, no line. The mine train with minimal wait. And a couple of others. We also took in the Monsters dance party and the parade and hallowishes. She had no interest in characters, so I didn't push it. She did like waving as she walked by though! Was fun to just go with no plan or wish list and let her have the reigns and see disney through her eyes :)

if we do HM with a FP before 7, will we be missing anything? Are there special effects or something that begin once the party starts? If so, could I book my FP for 6-7 time slot and show up right at 7? Would I be missing out on anything?

We went last year on September 16th or 19th and walked on space mountain without ever seeing another person. It was so strange to not see anyone except for people in the cars that were just going over and over again. When we did space mountain it was during the fireworks. That is going to be my plan for this year as well. Watch the first parade and then hit some big rides during the fireworks and second parade.

That sounds encouraging. Can't wait to try a Space Mountain marathon.

The CM's should all be in full costume if you go very close to the end of your window. They put on face make up to look a little more ghost-like and sinister. You may miss the fabulous ghost who sits outside and obnoxiously harasses people, but you can pass by and see her most of the night without standing in the queue or riding.

It does depend on the night, but we've always had good wait times at parties (excluding Haunted Mansion). With so many events and special characters out, most don't ride the rides.

My favorite Disney memory was actually during MNSSHP our first family trip. We got stuck in Frontierland during the fireworks and couldn't see anything for the trees - my husband took my youngest son to find a better spot to see them, while my oldest wanted to go on BTMRR again. We had the best view in the house! Walked right on and had a clear, gorgeous angle for the fireworks as the train went around the mountain. At the base of the last big climb, the Grand Finale started going off - we topped the rise just as the white fireworks (signaling the end of HalloWishes) went off, circling the park. There was no better view anywhere and is still so amazing to think of five years later.

After that, we were able to just stay on the ride three more rotations because there was never anyone waiting to get on, so the CMs didn't make us get off. It was a great night!

The night we went last year there was. 45 minute posted wait for 7DMT, husband waited an hour for Space (there were issues while he waited- it was posted at 20 mins), about 30 minutes for us at Peter Pan... For freaking EVER for Buzz Lightyear. I swear that line is always longer during MNSSHP...

Exactly what we did last year, and the CMs were already made up, we were in prime position for a hitchhiking ghost pic with no wait, and Carlotta was out and holding court when we exited the ride. Only slight minus was that it wasn't quite dark at 7, but compared to a 20-45 minute wait (the least at any of the 3 parties we've attended), we found it worth the trade off. BOO to you!!!

We went to the party the week before Halloween last year. Like a PP said, waits were longer than we expected, but I'm sure this depends on the time of your visit. If I remember correctly, 7DMT had a steady 90 minute wait all night.
