If you had to chose between the Halloween party or the Christmas party which would you choose and why? Trying yo decide when to go.

We love them both, but if I had to say which was the absolute best party, I would pick MNSSHP. I'm a huge Christmas person, and not so big on Halloween, too. We've done MVMCP multiple times, and went to MNSSHP for the first time last year. Seeing all the guests in costume really gives the whole place a party atmosphere, and it is so fun to see what everyone is wearing. The parade and castle villain show are great. The decorations are fun. I didn't think I would like MNSSHP as well as MVMCP and I wound up liking it even better. I don't think you can go wrong with either one.

Agreed. MNSSHP has been my favorite party ever. I've done MVMCP, MNSSHP and the Pirates and Princess Party before. MVMCP is very nice, the decorations are beautiful and the parade and fireworks are nice. However, they have nothing on MNSSHP, i think. The character interactions are better, just because I love villains. We go to the parties for the extra entertainment, instead of riding the rides and I think the entertainment is better at MNSSHP and has a more fun atmosphere.

Also, if you want the extra entertainment from the Christmas Party you can always have your stay after the parties end. Holiday wishes, the Parade, the Castle show, etc all become part of the regular day's entertainment and then you don't have to pay extra!

If I had to choose, hands down, MNSSHP. Matter of fact that's what we are choosing this year. We're only doing one.

MNSSHP:
You get to dress up in costume (but really, it's for the kids ;) ;) )
You get candy candy and more candy
Halloween parade
Hallow Wishes
Characters in Halloween Costumes
Park is open late, and there's hardly anyone there

MVMCP:
You get free cookies (how many cookies can you eat in one night, really)
You get free scalding hot, I might add, hot cocoa
It "snows" on Main Street
Christmas parade
Holiday Wishes
Characters in Christmas costumes
Park is open late, and there's hardly anyone there

So really, different themes for the most part. But I love the candy collecting and the dressing up. It's more fun for me and the kids.

I love them both, but I would definitely pick MNSSHP. I can't really give a good reason why, but we just had more fun the one time we went to MNSSHP over the 4x we've been to MVMCP.

MNSSHP. And I LOVE Christmas (especially at Disney!).

I am not at all a big Halloween fan. And maybe that is part of it, really. "Regular" Halloween so easily get ghost-and-ghouly. I am a huge chicken and easily creeped out! But MNSSHP has the fun nailed, without getting creepy. :confused3

And, you know, there's tons of candy. Always a plus. :cheer2:

We have done - and enjoyed - both. But I just willingly (and excitedly) forked over the ridiculous chunk of cash required for MNSSHP for this October. I think if we went at Christmas we would find other ways to enjoy the holidy atmosphere and save the cash.

Outside WDW, I am much more of a Christmas person than a Halloween person as well. Halloween has just never been my thing and its always been a one day kind of thing. Whereas Christmas begins for us in early November when we put up the first of our seven Christmas trees lol.

All that said, if I only do one party it would be MNSSHP for sure. It puts a spin on Halloween that can only be found at WDW vs. the more standard/traditional spin on Christmas at MVMCP.

I love Christmas at WDW for the resort decorations, Osborne Lights, Candlelight Processional and MVMCP. But MVMCP is the least of these for me to be honest. Love it and would never not go if I was in WDW when it was going but the Halloween Party is something really special.
