Ok, dh and I are attending our first MNSSHP on Oct 31st. I have read repeatedly that they begin letting party ticket holders in at 4pm. How do they tell who is who after 4pm?? Anyway, I digress....

The plan is to drive in from Atlanta the night before and priceline a really cheap room just to catch some z's. Monday morning, get up, go check in to the Pop Century, and either

A) head to the parks

or

B) head to breakfast and downtown disney, then come nap and explore the POP grounds (this is our first on property stay at ANY resort)

I am considering upgrading our tickets to 10day hoppers with no expiration at check in, so that we can get a second trip in much cheaper. So IF I upgrade, AND we go with plan B, we can still basically get 6 days in the parks on this trip, but only have to use 5 days of the park hopper tickets.

Now my questions are,
1) do they really allow MNSSHP tix holders in early, and if so, what time
2) is there enough to do at Downtown Disney to keep us occupied for 4 or 5 hours?
3) is there anything else you would recommend for passing an afternoon while waiting for the party to start?

TIA for all of your excellent advice :flower:

Yes they let the party goers in at 4. You get a wrist band thats how they know who is who.

I can find a lot to do at DTD my kids love to run around there. I would do DTD and maybe a swim at the resort if the weather is nice. a late lunch at Wolfgamg puck epress is a nice meal.

If you get in early the night before they have trick or treating for free at DTD and they have the good candy!

We dont have any children, but my husband is pretty good about letting me window shop. I had seen mention here about tours of SSR. Do they have a booth at DTD? I wouldnt mind learning more about the vacation club if it is not too high pressure and could be scheduled same day...

They have a booth at DTD and at several other locations, including the hotels and the parks (IIRC the MK one is in Adventureland).

The sales pitch is no pressure - they don't really have to work to hard to sell this great product! The only pressure is there are usually some sort of offer that you can only take advantage of then. The can do tours the same day, and they are respectful of your time (we did a tour the day we were flying out - and we ended up buying!).

It sounds like you are interested, so do do the tour. DVC makes so much sense for anyone who goes at least once every other year.

When you say they have some sort of offer what do you mean? I know the timeshares in Gatlinburg offer all kinds of gimmicks including CASH (not a gimmick) money to get you to view their presentations. We have only taken advantage of one offer, and we were already staying at the resort at the time. Or do you mean discounted offers to buy in only good at the time you view the resort? If that is the case, we should probably wait, because we are probably a year away from being able/ready to make a commitment, but would be interested in checking it out to kill some time, and for future reference!
