MNSSHP-Tips, Tricks, Secrets newbies should know (from the 2009 party!)

We'll be going to our first MNSSHP on Thursday night, Oct. 8

I had a few questions for anybody who has already been to party this year.

2. Does the Headless Horseman ride before both parades? I have heard the
last parade is crowded but we don't want to miss the headless Horseman.

I know this one. ;) Usually the first parade is a lot more crowded than the second. Some people (especially those with smaller children) will watch the first parade, then the fireworks, then leave.

Can anyone tell me how the Will Call works for party tickets? I just purchased them online and opted for Will Call. Can I really just pick them up at any ticket sale location?

For instance, the night before we'll be at DHS, can we pick them up on our way out of that park, or does it have to be at MK?

I am thinking, too, that the CM told me on the phone that I could pick them up at my resort....

You can pick them up at any guest services location. They are right outside the gates of the four parks and there is one in Downtown Disney. You cannot get them at your hotel.

You just give them the number and your id and they print out tickets for you.

Were the doing pictures with Snow White WITH the 7 Dwarfs?

yes. it is right before Toontown. They had flood lights up, photopass photog, etc. We did not take the picture but walked by twice on our way to Alice's tea party path and there were considerable lines but all eight characters were definitely there. It looked like they were making nice pics. Lots of bright colors.

Great, thanks for the info!

We got lots of now or laters, boxes of raisins (we'll give those out for Oct. 31, LOL), suckers, tootsie rolls, Sweet Tarts, some mini chocolates and odds & ends.

I did see the fish heads! I think we were heading out when we saw them, lol. I think it was a great party....well worth it for sure!:goodvibes

I wanted to get the MNNSHP music. Is there a CD available and is it available? I'm not familiar with the stores at MK. Is there a store there that sells it? Also, could anyone recommend a book about the Haunted Mansion for my daughter who is 13 and where could I get it?

I bought the MK Event Music CD at the candy shop just as you hit Main Street. It was at the register. This was in March of this year. It also had music from the P&PP and some other odds and ends.

omg I bought my mnsshp ticket for 10/29 today...phew...I saw that the 10/31 was sold out!! I was thinking to buy for that day too...oh well...one day of MNSHHP it is...I'm so excited..I haven't bought costumes yet but I think we are going to stick with just one costume (Pirates)...but we'll be wearing them on 3 different days..lol..

I read some reviews that MNSHHP wasn't all that cracked up to be..but I'm excited nevertheless. I know I'm going on an extremely busy day so Im prepared to stand in maybe two long lines...mickey and cinderella's coach..everything else if its more than 20minutes to wait no way jose..

I'll be by myself with my son (and preggers but will only be 4 months) because daddy can't make it out that week. so we won't be pushing ourselves to do everything..now for our christmas trip, daddy is coming with us so we will be going bananas:banana:

When I purchased my tickets, the CM said I can pick them up at the resort, they print them out for you at the concierge's desk in the lobby! Just need your confirmation #!

We have gotten them at conciererge at our resort and plan to get them there again this year. Just need your confirmation #

When I ordered ours a few weeks back the CM said only at guest relations. I will find out tomorrow when I get them and let everyone know!

Any new info from folks this year re: the Hallowishes soundtrack & whether or not Malificent has been cut out of the fireworks??

When we went in '07, she was the last portion and her fireworks part was the BEST... 360 degrees around the park. I've heard rumor that her part was removed, just wanted to check... if so, I will be SOOO disappointed!! It was truly the best part of the show. :sad1:

I read somewhere that Minnie is part of the dance party by Ariel's grotto. So is she in both places???

We were there on the 11th and the 15th. I did not see Snow White and all seven dwarves together. It was either all the dwarves without Snow White, or Snow White and Dopey, when I walked past. :confused3

I'd like to hear more reports on this. Maybe the entire group stays for 30 minutes, then either Snow or the Dwarfs get a break, then they're back together 30 minutes later???????

Usually when they do this sort of photo op, they are switching off with someone every half hour or so. :confused3

We went Friday night, September 11th. It was my first first MNSSHP and I really wasn't disappointed in the least! We all got a good amount of candy, although that was not our primary desire. Characters and rides were the big thing for us. I went with 4 friends and we dressed like the Mickey Mouse Club - white shirts with names on them, black shorts or capris.

Hi.. We saw you.. lol I had a red ranger, green neon tink complete with her neon green shoes, pocohontas in a wheelchair..and a darth vader..lol

We saw the fish heads too while we were in Toontown getting our faces painted.... we thought they were too funny.. but a great costume.. LOL

Did you happen to see the first parade that night?..

We were told by the castmembers to keep our eyes on him as he was a special Jack. and we had it confirmed.. that Jack Sparrow was actually Johnny Depp in the first parade. Also.. if you saw.. there was a helicopter that flew high above MK.. not long afterwards... :scared1:
I am looking for a good pic.. as I only have video.. EXCITING!!!

OMG...seriouslY??????? We didn't watch the first parade...only the headless horseman! You saw us, lol? That's great! We did see the helicopter but thought maybe they were filming for promotional stuff. OH lord...need to tell the people I was with.......:scared1:

Snow White with Dopey were alternating with the other dwarves at the last party? Ugh. I find this disappointing. I hope that is not the case on the 25th. I'm going as Snow White and DH is Grumpy, and I was really hoping to get our pic with all the dwarves and Snow White. :(
This was what I saw.

As for candy, DD and I went on the 11th and the 15th. We weighed our candy when we got home and we have 12-13 pounds not including the raisins. So we got something like 3+ pounds of candy each, per party. Our bags were full to the very top, slightly overflowing.

We got a pretty good mix, I thought, including: M&M's (plain and peanut), Skittles, Hershey bars, Nerds, Dots, Tootsie rolls and pops, Mike and Ike, York, Bottle Caps, Whoppers, Sour Patch Kids, Twizzlers, Kit Kats, 100 Grand, 3 Musketeers, Snickers, Laffy Taffy, Sweet tarts, Baby Ruth, Bit O Honey, Mary Janes, Now and Later, Saf-T-Pops, Gummy burgers and hot dogs, candy corn, AirHeads, Hot Tamales, and more.

Some friends of ours from the UK have been there for three weeks and went to the party prior to the Sept. 11th party...they saw Snow White with the dwarves that night. We staked out the spot and spoke to some CMs the night of the 11th, and were told how they were going to have Snow White with Dopey for a bit, then all the dwarves would come out together. We got great pictures with all the dwarves and it was definitely a memorable moment. The speculation for not having Snow White out (which is COMPLETE speculation) was that in years past, Snow White would almost get pushed out of the picture for the chance to be in the pic with the dwarves, so they decided to start divying them up. Whether that is true or not, I don't know, it was an observation made by several people who have been to many parties.
