Wow, thanks so much for this thread, it's great for us newbies. We have tickets for MNSSHP on 10/18 -- I'm getting even more excited reading this thread!! We also have ressies for the wishes dessert buffet that night, and I think I read elsewhere that the fireworks are around 9:30 -- question, how long are the fireworks? Just wondering, as I want to make sure we see the 2nd parade as well, including the headless horseman....

Hey, that is the same night my family will be there, and we are also going to the dessert party! When I was on the phone with WDW dining, the agent checked on the time for HalloWishes and let us know that it will be at 9:30 (and that makes sense since our dessert party reservations are for 8:30).

I have a video of a previous year's HalloWishes and it runs ~12 minutes so there should be no problem seeing the 2nd parade after leaving the dessert party. In the past I believe that 2nd parade started at 10:30. Every picture that I have seen of the second parade shows plenty of open spaces on the parade route.

This thread is so great! MNSSHP is the thing I am most looking forward to for our trip. Still haven't decided if we are going the 6th or 8th, waiting to check the weather forecast. Got the kids costumes in order they will be Leo and Annie from the little einsteins, cool comfortable and easy to pack. DS has a service dog so I am going to try and figure out a way to make her look like rocket.

Does anyone know if the lockers at MK are big enough to fit a football helmet and can you wear a football helmet to the party? (btw I'm going as Commander Keen) Also, can you bring a squirt/ray gun looking thing to MK for the party? I can understand if you can't. If anyone has any other suggestions for a ray gun they would be much appreciated. (or something that would be allowed in)

Oh before I forget. My fiance is going as Peter Parker and he was going to put the mask in his back pocket. He isn't going to wear it at all for the party. It's just a prop. Is he allowed to do that?

We are supposed to be going next Friday (9/11) but the weather doesn't look good right now. It actually looks bad for the whole week, so i was thinking that maybe they just have the normal afternoon thundershowers like we do here in charleston and that is why the rain % is so high every day. Anyone from Florida that can confirm?

We are arriving at MCO around 4:30 PM and taking the ME to the GF. I am traveling with DH, DD9 and DS8.

I am considering trying to go to MNSSHP that evening but think I may be cutting it too close and really losing out on some of the fun of that evening by trying to rush over there.

It really fits into our plans to go that night but I don't wnat to regret it. We have been to MNSSHP 2 other times (2005 & 2007)

Any thoughts?

I live in south Georgia, about 6 miles north of the Fl line. It rains every afternoon from about June til September. Gotta love the rainy season!

I would not buy the tickets ahead of time. Your plane could be late and you could miss part of the party. If you get there in time, you can ask at the front desk if there are still tickets available and go from there. Plus how tired will you be from traveling? Arriving at 4:30 you will also need to consider what you will eat for dinner, either at the airport or at the hotel. Since it costs money to go to the party, I'd prefer to get every penny of my money's worth.

That could be it. We are 3 hours SW of Orlando, and almost every day around 2 or so it rains from July thru September. It hasn't rained (yet) today, but it keeps threatening to on and off.

We're scheduled to go on 9/11 also, and I'm hoping it doesn't rain. Last year we went the week of Halloween and froze - it was in the 40's which is cold to us - so this year we were hoping to enjoy the party. Plus we're supposed to do just the water parks all week.

I think I am going to just wait and buy tix when we get there. If it is pouring, we can stay at the port instead.
