MNSSHP tickets and resort package

OK we have the resort package with tickets and dining but have not bought our tickets for MNSSHP yet... if I buy them online will it be tied to my resort reservation or do we get those paper tickets prior to us getting there?? and is there any advantage to either way??? ie... having them attached to our tickets or have the paper tickets..

I have bought them both ways, online and onsite. Either way, they are a paper ticket. For me I like the flexibility of choosing my night for the party based on the weather, so now I wait until I am onsite to buy the tickets. This is only a good plan if you are going during the week and not at the very beginning or end of the party so that you don't have to worry about the party selling out.

The party is a separate hard ticket event and is separate from your park tickets. If you order them online they will be mailed to you. Or, as the pp mentioned, you can wait until you get there and buy them. But either way, the party tickets will not be tied to your package/park tickets.

The closer it gets to Halloween the more likely it gets that it will sell out. Plus the weekends are more likely to sell out. If you're set on that date, I wouldn't wait until you get there.

It's really up to you and how much flexibility you have. 10/20 is a Sunday party, but there is still seven more parties scheduled. Parties do sell out in late October, but you might be okay waiting (unless something unusual happens, the 10/20 party won't sell out for quite a while). My family has always waited until we arrive to buy our MNSSHP tickets. We have flexibility in terms of dates, so we look at the weather forecast before committing (we usually order the day before).

we do not have much flexibility with our dates, we are only going there from 10/17 -10/21 so our only choice is the 17th and 20th and we will be too tired to go to the 17th since we will just be getting there that day!! so I think we will wait and get the tickets when we get there! Is there any way of knowing if a day is getting close to selling out???

Sadly, no. Disney does not release information about ticket sales (other than "available" or "sold out".

We are planning on attending the 10/22 or 10/24 party but like others have said, I am waiting until we arrive to purchase our tickets. The last time we attended MVMCCP it poured and our night was ruined...and I was out $200+. Had I waited to see the forecast before purchasing, we would've skipped the party.

In the past I've always purchased my tickets in advance and recieved them by mail (lesson learned the hard way). Just curious...since I'll be buying them once we are at Disney this year, can I buy the tickets at the resort or do I have to purchase them from MK?

I've been able to purchase the tickets at Guest Services at a resort in the past (I bought mine at Boardwalk). I think you can purchase them anywhere that they sell tickets.

You should check out the official MNSSHP thread. Someone posted a link about a week ago with last year's dates and if/when dates sold out. Halloween sold out 4 days in advance, and a couple of other dates sold out a day an advance. So I think that is a fairly good indication. We're are waiting to look at the weather forecast before purchasing, so about 9-10 days in advance. This year of course could be different, but there are so many parties that the crowds do spread out over the dates.
