I am attending with my 3 and 1-yr olds and I know they won't last very long. The parade is my top to-do, but I want them to do the dance party, trick-or-treat, and meet characters. I'd love to see the 7 Dwarves. Rides can be done another day.

Any plans or advice? Should we get in line for the dwarves then stake a place for the early parade? TIA

I forget the website (his name is Josh and someone will come along with it) I copied this from his site to my computer (adjust for your needs as you are avoiding rides) 7 Dwarves VERY popular so I plan to use his advice (Thanks Josh)

How I Would Plan My Evening
6:40pm – Get in line for Princesses in Town Square Theater or Jack Sparrow in Adventureland
7:10pm – Get in line for Gaston and/or Tremaines
7:45pm – Watch Villains Mix and Mingle.* After the show, hurry to the left walkway for a picture with Maleficent.* Get pictures with other villains.* Frollo and Cruella see shorter lines
8:10pm – Get in line for Dwarfs in Frontierland
8:45pm – Ride Big Thunder or Splash Mountain if desired
9:15pm – Find a viewing location near Casey’s Corner for HalloWishes at 9:30pm
9:45pm – Get in line for Phineas and Ferb
10pm – Grab a snack at Casey’s Corner
10:15pm or earlier – Find a viewing location for the Parade
11:15pm – Trick or Treat, get in line for an additional character, ride rides, or what have you

The EasyWDW schedule is good, but it assumes that you will be staying through the end of the party at midnight. Given that you indicated your little ones are unlikely to make very late, I would prioritize the characters you want to see. The Seven Dwarves are very popular, so if you want to see them, I would consider starting there (get in line early). Then, depending on the time, either go to a dance party or find a spot for the parade. After the parade, you can go trick-or-treating or find another character. Wait as long as you can for the trick-or-treating because it's the same candy all night long and the lines are shorter later in the party.

I'm no expert but did go to MNSHHP last year. Used kennythepirate guide for meeting characters. I got in line for dwarves before 6pm and met them around 7:15 (they come out at 7). I think an hour is pretty typical for them. We concentrated on meeting characters (me waiting in lines while kids did dance party, rides, trick or treat with dad), saw hallowishes, villains mix&mingle, the second parade. That being said, we did not get to meet as many characters as I would have liked.

In my opinion, if you want to see the first parade, there really isn't much time for other things - you need to stake out a spot.

We did not enjoy our first MVMCP when our kids were 2,3,4 because we had to see the first parade.
